i think thats an unfair comparison of dps. have carbineer use an ee3 or an elite carbine using crippling shot and see.

Please explain to me whymy numbers areunfair?

Instead of the EE3 or Elite you suggest, how about a CDEF Carbine vs a T21? Does that sound fair?

Sorry, but that is the cold hard facts of comparing a Rifleman vs a Carbineer. The only thing I could include is the KD Mod but we get such a low % of shots while something is KD that I left it out.

And precisely nothing after armor.

Hey TA,

Would the DPS numbers on the carbineer be different if the damage range on the weapon were different? I'm currently using a 2.8 speed 170ish - 270ish DH17 to grind out a new template with. Just curious if the damage ranged affects the DPS.

Lemme tell ya, I took the BH Carbines line first while working on my templateand I was amazed at how much easier it is to grind through Carbineer itself now. Did it once before for the hologrind and it took forever. I was able to grind out about 800k xp in a buff session tonight using that DH17. I have a new found respect for Carbines and the abilities we have. Can't wait to finish out my template and get on to hunting Jedi.

I do not calculate Accuracy into any DPS numbers, it is just too difficult to quantify.....

Oh no, thats not what I meant. The damage range on the Laser Carbine in the example a few posts back is 55/354. The one on my DH17 is 170/270 (rough numbers, not ingame to check) with a 2.8 speed. What I was asking is does the smaller range between the minumum and maximum damage affect the DPS, and if so, by how much?

Sure, DPS takes the (Max + Min ) / 2 for the "average".

Ok, so I'd be getting a better DPS with my DH17 carbine than that Laser that was mentioned. Not by much, but it'd be slightly better.

Remember the weapons used in my comparison are not sliced and have no optional components (tissues, stocks, scopes) used.

And the DH17 has AP0 whereas the Laser is AP2, so your DPS wouldn't be the same unless Energy was listed as Vulnerable.

Right, I understand where you're coming from on that. That would make a big difference on the DPS.

Factor in Synthsteak and PSGs. Believe me, its close enough to nothing that any fool with a 2700 in a Regen secondarycan regain the lost HAM before the Stat bar display even shows that he was hit in the first place.

Indeed. 1200 damage without synsteak breaks down to about the numbers posted.. but with steak, it's very little. Novice Medic can easily take care of such small "dents" as well.

In fact, 1200 with a PSG gains 25% increase, 1500, loses 35% to resists, 975. Gains 25% on AR1 armor, 1220. Then suffers whatever loss to the resisting armor. But that's only with an AP2 Laser Carb.

As far as AP1 weapons go (which many Carbineers use because the Laser is a slow weapon and isn't great for mitigation), it boils down to 35% reduced, 780. Then you go to the armor resists, or 78 to 156 damage. 45% goes through steak.. that's 40 to 80 damage. Heck, a standard bleed off an Enhanced E11 does more than that

And we know the bleed off an Enhanced E11 isn't great.....it helps but it won't win the fight for you either....

Of course I can't really say anything, but things are changing....Wait for the Combat Upgrade (tm)
