Thread: Entertainer's Have NO Credits!

All of the AFK discussion is recidulous...I wonder how many complaining about AFK entertainers have macros on their combat or craftertoons for anything? Delete all your macros and do the work manually (it can be done)then you can complain! I wonder how many complaining have left thier combat toons AFK outside a city overnight AFK killing and looting NPC's for the rediculous amount of parts required to make some schematic or for xp? Or how many of you crafters leave your AFK factories pumping out crates of sellable items while you sleep at night (you can make the items individually one by one while you are at the keyboard)? It's time to end the stupid complaints about AFK entertainers. My combat toons have been quite thankful for them in the past when my avalilable playing hours did not match the peak server hourswhen live entertainers were not to be found as their owners were snoozingduring my playing hours.

I have 5 toons on one server and two of those accounts are professional Master Entertainers. Why do I have other accounts? Because an Entertainer, NO MATTER HOW MANY HOURS THEY ARE LIVE AT THE KEYBOARD, cannot make enough credits in the game to have any of the fine aminities a combatant or crafter can earn. And lets get real people, whatever you think should happen in the game...the majority of entertainer accounts were purchased as support characters to our combatant characters, because it was hard to find an entertainer live or AFK. Of course we are going to sign those accounts on as support and leave them AFK while we play our combatantsor crafterswho can actually earn an in game living (remember being live on an entertainer no matter how good the person is...still does not earn them enuf money to buy clothes, houses, AV-21's or other things desired in the game let alone train).

There are those rare individuals who may play an entertainer live for a while...but even those people must be getting discouraged as there is now little reason for combatants or crafters to visit them, because they can do all the live chatting they want in a hunting group. Basically what people are not hearing is...LIVE, AFK OR ANTHING IN BETWEEN...ENTERTAINERS ARE NOW A NEAR USELESS PROFESSION IN THE GAME andTHIS ALSO EVEN GREATER REDUCES THIERALREADY POORABILITY TO AQUIRE CREDITS. So you are willing to tip for a friendly chat in a cantina with a live entertainer and that should be what they do to entertain you and earn credits? How nice, now calculate the cost of a house or any other items in the game and figure how many freindly chats like yours (depending on the amount most people tip or don't tip) it would take for that entertainer to buy even a few game items! Not too many people are going to pay real world account fees for a character that is becoming less and less necessary or able to earn game credits. At least when they were necessary to our combat toons SOE, we sent more money your way by purchasing additional accounts as support characters that we could leave AFK in our player city Cantinas (which actually generated some gathering andlife in the player cities). Interpreted as...please cancel the monthly fees on my now useless entertainer accounts so I can spend all my time live at the keyboard with my crafter and combat toons that can have theSAME friendly live chats with other characters and earn a real in game living. Oh...and please note that the reduced revenue to SOE will also add to the demise of hiring development teams, CSR's and eventually the existance of the game period.

Any of you that would like to flame this as a whine...please delete all your existing combat macros and AFK factories. Oh, and requestto have your in game credit earnings and quest rewards reduced by about 90 percent!

Entertainers have fewer economic chances not to earn credits. Madam this post still doesn't belong here, btw. If you notice we're still just talking about one profession.

I did not start the thread.

If you think it really doesn't belong here, then I suggest you report the thread.

It is very well possible to make 10k per 15 minutes as entertainer just by entertainer missions.
You just need a group and shuttle every 10 minutes to get new missions. (This assumes you are back to the cantina after 5 minutes.)

I seldomly do it because I don't rely on the money I get as entertainer and second I usually make way more money in tips. (I have the theory that the level 59 logo above my name makes me earn less money than other entertainers though.) But it comes handy if you are entertaining at a place where hardly any audience - to establish the place for example.

The reason i dont tip and actually stay away from the cantina is becuase all the dancers are afk. Now.... If the dancers afk intent was to help other players heal, then yeah sure, i might show up, and i might even tip..

Most of the time i think the only reason why most entertainers are there is to afk xp enough to respec out of entertainer with out even being at the computer.

dont ever expect anything from me.

I am not an entertainer, but my wife is. Before the battle fatigue being removed, she made a very nice income. Nothing having changed, her income has reduced to 1/3 of what she was making, and most of that is the same "regulars" that always tip. Entertainers are really hurting, and although the new stuff they have is pretty cool, it has really hurt the moral on the live performers that are left. I think it would be up to entertainers to decide whether they will band together to /covercharge their services, but as long as their was one who didnt, that plan will never work.

Entertainers desparately need a new buff system or some reason for people to want to come to them. With no reason to visit them, people just arent hitting the cantinas like they used to. The 10% buff just doesnt seem to be enough to bring people in.

Entertainment is an art. How many artists do you know with money?

Artists are artists for the love of art. They arn't in it for money. If you like a lot of money, you're gonna hate art. Because unless you have a lot of raw talent for it, you aint gonna make it to the big time. And that's just the way it is folks.

If you like the entertainer profession and need cash I do have a few tips.

Take a bit of artisan and survey for resources.

Resource hunting requires few skillpoints and pays extremely well and can support your dancing or music profession.

By the way, if entertainers could make it on their own, they'd be the only profession to do so. Every other profession is at least partially dependant on other professions to be successful. As it is dancing and musician are the most independant professions in the game.
