I quit for WoW and was disgusted with the lack of interaction with players, the economy, and the lanscape. Go buy WoW and try it. I guarentee you will be crawling back to SWG. I will be purchasing JTL this week and ROTW ASAP.

I would agree with you about the lack of communication, however next patch we will have chat bubbles just like SWG. I had to disagree with you on every other point for the simple fact that wow is almost endless. There are so many lands and things to see and do it makes SWG look like an anthill for content. I also challenge most people to try wow, I am guessing more WONT be coming back to this game after playing it because lets face it.. Its an amazing game

If you think WoW is so great, thenwhat are you doing here bitching? I'm surprised you could pry yourself away from it long enough to come here and complain.

I've played WoW and IMO it's very boring. The crafting system is a joke, the economy is a joke, the quests become very similar after a while. I felt like a rat in a maze looking for the cheese, the cheese being the level cap, like there was really only one way to play the game and only one goal to achieve. Boooorrrrinnnngggg.

Here's a nice synopsis of WoW for the uninitiated: do quests to get xp until you hit level cap, which sounds good until you realize that most of the quests are very similar. Then once you hit level cap, play the same 3 or 4 instanced dungeons repeatedly until you get the uberloot dropsyou need to complete your 'character'. There, that's it. Oh, well you can start the whole process over again with a different character...though you'll have to do some of the same quests over again eventually. If you play on a PvP server you can go to the contested regions and gank lower-level characters, if you get really bored.

No player housing, no player cities, no player shops, no way to make a name for your self as a crafter...just grind out quests endlessly. It has guilds, but really no other form of social interaction. I guess that could be considered 'depth' for console gamers, but IMO it makes for tedious gameplay.

Have fun in WoW. I'll be pre-ordering the expansion; I think it sounds pretty cool.

15.00 a month for a game I rarely play because the promise of new content takes years to come about. There are still MASSIVE bugs from Jump to light speed and dont even get me started how bad the bugs are with SWG which have never been fixed. Now all of a sudden out now. So the free stuff takes forever, but yet the Pay stuff comes out of the blues and HEY next month its here. NO THANK YOU, Not gonna do it and have my game that is majorly bug ridden be even worse. Its time to draw the line here

I know what's in ur mind, you just bought a good car, seller told you it may run up to 100mph but it doesn't, so upset you run to the car shop, and patiently seller tells you to wait some months so he can fix the engine. After 18 months, the car is ready, is not to run 100mph but 130mph but is not for free. What do you do? you complain to the seller but u buy it as no other car run so fast.

I agree with you cry4dawn, somewhat, i mean i (want to) love this game but its getting rediculus, do they even ask players before they whip out the nerf baton and start beating content and people???

Has anyone noticed every game SOE buys or owns ends up getting screwed. Look at EQ, went down hill after they bought it, Planet side is a disater last time i checked and SWG is dieing.

Soe: 'If its not broken, we'll fix that'

Still there had best be more than a god damned planet if they charge anymore than 20 bucks and i mean canadian for it. I mean wookies are just Big ewoks so why not go to endor?

I think it sort of sucks that you have to have JtL to use the new expansion... I wanted to see the new planet...

Why?

Because you bought JtL.

No, I wont be buying it. I have given years of my life to SWG and since WOW has been released I probably spend less then an hour a week playing SWG. The only reason I still play durning that time is because WOW is down for maintence at that time of the morning. Wow offers so much I wonder how people can get bored with it at this point and time

I played WoW for a month and missed this game alot, the community in WoW is non-existant, the crafting system is WAY too simple, theres a level ceiling, and nothing new appears. Although i did like the landscape more.

Your problem was you didnt play with someone and you didnt bother to explore the game long enough. Clearly the game has endless things to do and the world is so big it makes SWG look like pacman in levels or areas to do things.

Is there some reason that people should pay extra for a few more months just to give a new game a chance? The guy obviously doesn't have the same opinion of WoW that you do. You also don't reply to his assertions: 1. No community 2. Simplistic crafting 3. Level ceiling 4. Repetitive action

Your responses were: 1. Play with a partner 2. Play longer and explore more 3. Lots of things to do 4. Large world

You say there are endless things to do, but you don't say if they're unique things to do. Phonelesscord suggests that there's boring repetition in what you do.

1. No community
SWG doesn't have a great community. These forums and the scathing remarks are exhibit A. The ingame behavior is even worse and is exhibit B.

PvP hate PvE. PvE hate PvP. RP hate intruding PvE and PvP into their RP. It is a vicious circle of hate and grief from the players.

2. Simplistic crafting
SWG crafting is the simplist of all crafting systems on the market. Double click resources to load them in. Click next. That is it. The rest is just the closing of the session and has no effect(other than experimentation) on the actual crafting of the object. It is done in the background. EQ2 has the most interesting crafting system that requires player interaction from start to finish.

3. Level ceiling
All MMORPGs have a "level ceiling". All of them. SWG has 250 skill points, that is your limit. However in SWG you could be in a situation of having a few points left over and no where to spend them, so infact SWGs level system is horrid compared toother systems.

4. Repetitive action
Again, all MMORPGs have repetitive actions in one form or another. However SWGs action seems nothing but repetitive with very little dynamic occurence. An example was artisan sampling. They spiced it up with a very rare chance of locating a nearby source that was better or a chance to spend 300 action to mine a larger amount from the node you were working on. That is all they added. It would have been more interesting and fun if during your mining you accidently disturbed some sleeping bug like a kreetle on Tattooine while sampling, or locating a random mission in the form of a half buried manuscript that you had to deliver to X on planet Y for Z reward.

Wow.

Are you and i using the same crafting system? Because in my experiance, SWG has the most complicated, interesting crafting system i have ever had the pleasure to encounter.

Well I started with the game quit for quite awhile but am back but as to wow I think its one of the most boring things going, sorry. I dont think we should have to pay for this coming expansion but I know I will as this is the best out of all these games I have tried and wow is the worst for me.

Oh man, another person who does not understand/cannot handle the way MMO games operate...

Newsflash buddy, software drops in price over time. Bundles of expansions come out all the time. I saw Ultima Online: Samurai Empire on the shelf at Best Buy today, and on the box it said "Includes the original Ultima Online and all expansions to date!" or something to that effect. The price? $30. Does this mean that they're ripping off the customers who paid full price for the original and every expansion? No, it means that the value of the expansions has gone down over time and they are including everything in one box for a low price to entice potential subscribers. Would you cry foul if you bought an HDTV for $2000 and then 6 months later it was $1500 with a free DVD player included? Almost everything on the market works like this.

You are SERIOUSLY overreacting.

I have been doing MMO's for many years. I know how they work, now SOE is another story how they work.. Your dazzled by the coin they are dangling in front of your face and not awake to see the whole story

Nope he simply finds fun in something you no longer do. Rather then waste your breah here you should move on to something you truly enjoy. If youreally only play this and hour at a time every so often while WoW is down and you have no intention of buying anymore expansions, it is probably time you cut all the remaining strings and move on. Those of us who still enjoy this game will stay and buy expansions as they come out and enjoy those too. Not beacuse we are sheep or believe a line of bull, but because, from our personal experience, we feel the positives of the game outweigh the negatives.

You are entitled to your opinion, but it seems a waste of time and energy to post about a game you profess to no longer enjoy.
