If you took this as directed at you, all I can say is YOU should EDIT your original post & Delete it all, or at least have it stay on topic.

I am a Pistoleer/Commando. All I essentially do every buff sessions are Imperial Missions, because I can't go out and hunt a Rancor by myself. Needless to say, the purchasing of Armor and Weapons are extremely important, for I have to be exceptionally frugal.

What about players like me who are left out in the cold?

It sounds like You'd bea perfect fit on most Imperial Guilds, If your friends wont help you, Who can you rely on?

If you have no friends or are unguilded, then hopefully you catch my drift.

Nowe weren't all once "noobs"(some people played other MMORPGs, Others just have this natural talent) However I am still learning. I did not come on a public forum and state issues I have with the game I love and play ( I learned that Lesson, Hmmm 12 months ago).

Bottom Line this game is not about CREDITS, It's about FRIENDS.

The money sink is so insignificant it's almost not worth mentioning. Who honestly notices 500 credits missing? For example, my city has a 1000 credit income tax. Were it not for the e-mail stating that it has been deducted from my account, I'd never notice. Now I'm not rich by any standard, just well off at 1 million some odd credits.

The point is that it's all these single items that go for millions, such as crystals, pearls, CAs, AAs, and looted weapons that make people feel poor. All the Nyax camping hasn't exactly helped the situation either.

So there's one of two solutions: One, make the caves and places where all these uber items are looted instanced and timed, preventing a single player from entering more than twice in one day and staying any longer than 1 hour (depending on the cave). Or two, put a cap on the amount that can be charged for a single item, on the vendors or trade forums; let's say2 million max per item.

I prefer the first idea. With it, everyone has a chance to experience all the content this game has to offer, without having to deal with radically different spawn rates for some of the cave enemies or loot campers.

This is quite off topic, He says Bottom Line Game is about Credits.

Since we're taking this discussion towards spawn camping & loot rights, then lets talk about NightSister Elders, They drop highend attachments like nyax, they spawn wildly throughout dathomir. You don't need an instanced dungoen, Just a decent group of friends to help You.

You cannot LIMIT people, they will find away around it anyways &It's not fair. We all pay or monthly fees. If you add a credit cap per character, We will just buy more accounts. If you limit trades to millions of credits, we will find ways to Break the Item you want into different peices or make you buy other itmes first to be eligible to purchase that Item. You have tough it out & hope that the people around you will help you push through rough waters & when they're calm it's your turn to lend a hand and pay it forward.

I'm a filthy rich armorsmith and that's the part of the game I like. I don't go on the Vette, never been to the Village and there are a great many things in this game that are out of my reach simply becauseI lack the skills. I cannot participate in PvP and am a complete disaster in PvE. I have no combat skills (aside from JtL) so, all I really have is crafting and making money. I agree with your point about skill tapes and crystals being sold for stupid amounts of money and honestly, I've spent a good 45 mil on skill tapes and RIS stuff and loots that I would never have access to (AV-21) but, until there is a profession specific looting system (which I don't want) those items will always come at a price.

It is myopinion that your economic viewpoint is based solely in your wants. And, if you want something, anything in life or game, you have to apply yourself and set about doing it.

Good Luck.

thank you for some great info. i appreciate your words. you are right. the game is about friendship. i am just frustrated. can't make any money without investing loads of time. i am tired of searching for info all of the time, and i am getting burned out. but please answer this for me. i am 26, and have a full time job. i pay the same as everybody else. why should a GAME penalize people who can't live on it? what i mean by that is when i play, i don't have hrs to make friends. i gotta do what i can when i get the time. therefore i lack in the credit department. i will not do any AFK looting, i refuse. i have successfully mastered swordman, medic, and scout. now i want the goodies. all i am saying is that is is discouraging that because of my lifestyle i can't get ahead without it taking years. remember, it is just a darn game. why in this star wars galaxy can't somebody like me get ahead? prices are raising as we speak. all of that looting isn't bringing the prices down, it is just enabling the rich to have better access to what they want when they want it. of the 14 peeps on my friends list 12 are over 25, and they know what i mean.

omg. it's a GAME, NOT A LIFESTYLE. i do what i desire in life, and i work for it. no way can a game be compared to life.

I'm 37 and an actor. I have maybe 2 hours to play each day and most of the time I can get an hour in before it's off to run the rat-race. If money is what you want then examine the base economy and find a way in. Swordsman, medic and scout are all adventure classes and won't help you in the economic boom you seek. Crafting has it's cost too and it's not something you'll get into for a week and suddenly have all the money you need. AS, for example, has a 'gestation' time of about 3 months from Master. That's because all of the resources you'll need to craft competitive spawn at a timed rate, so you may have the skill but not the stuff. On top of that, there is the name. Most folks won't shop your vendors until you've made a name for your business among the folks who actually buy the product. And this isn't the kind of game where you get what you want when you want it...it's a goal oriented game and as such requires time, patience and focus on the task.

I understand your frustration...I started out as a Pistoleer/Creature Handler/Scout and was too broke to pay for a house, much less the maintainance on it. It may be time for you to examine how you have fun in SW:G. Perhaps changing your template to include a crafting profession and use the bazaar to supplement your income. Or, as the price setters for those items that are extremely expensive, hunt those items and those items alone. In any case, look for ways to supplement mission payouts and fly at least an hour a session. I can make 100k in an hour of flight, so maybe that's something to consider.

Have fun d00d.

Thank you so much. Finallly someone that isn't gonna throw "i've been playing a year and......." at me. I will take your advice, but i don't like crafting lol. I just don't feel that there should be mandatory ways of making big money. I feel it should be based on how good you are at your profession, not how much you can stay on top of the market. Thank you again .

Maybe you should try World of Warcraft, it has a economic system similar to what you seem to be asking for. You can get lots of good, usable equipment by doing quests, or through instanced dungeons. In fact, crafting barely exists in that game (at least compared to SWG).

The one thing that sets SWG apart from every other MMORPG on the market is it's player-based free-marketcrafting economy. No other MMORPG that I'm aware of has an economic systemquite like SWGs. When you make such an economic system, it will by necessity become "credit centric". The thing is, it's not for everyone. So it may just be that another MMORPG would suit your style better.

If you plan on sticking with SWG, here are some ways you can get money with smalleffort:

1) Sell resources. Get yourself some personal mineral harvestors and some radioactive power. Plant them in a convenient spot near your house. Harvest whatever has the highest concentration. Sell it on the bazaar for 1-3 cpu (maybe more when something really good spawns). When the resources shift, just switch over to the whatever has the highest concentration. You never even have to move your harvestors. As you earn more money, you might want to upgrade to medium and/or large harvestors.

2) Get novice scout (if you don't have it already). When a good creature resource spawns--you'll know because Chefs/Docs/AS will usually spam offers at the starport--go out and get as much of it as you can. Even if you can only play an hour or two a night, after a week it could be worth hundreds of thousands, or even millions.

3) Sell loot. You must be killing stuff, right? You don't have to sell crystals and +25 CA's to make good money at selling loot. You just need to know what's hot and what's not. Ditch the junk, sell the good stuff. Even if it's for only a few thousand each, that's still easy money.

4) Rent out your lots. This requires virtually zero effort, and you get a nice weekly payment.

These are just a few ideas. There are probably plenty of others I haven't thought of. The only other thing I can say is, you get out of it what you put into it--and this is true about everything.

My suggestion is to buy some heavy harvesters, even one or two at first, and place them somewhere where you have easy access to them. Power (radioactive is best)usually sells for 2 cpu or less. You don't even have to move the harvesters, just harvest the resources with the highest concentration and/or stats each time the server changes them. Take these resources and, if you don't want to be a merchant, sell them on the bazaar for 2 or 3 cpu (for most types) and make 6k per sale. This is a relatively easy way to make money while you are offline and it only takes about 30 minutes every week or so to maintain them once you get them going. This was the only way I made money for a long time as a (pre-patch) bounty hunter, and I still keep my harvesters running today. Don't buy the small harvesters, as they don't pay off well enough to bother with. The heavies cost around 120k, and before you place them make sure you have enough power and maintenance to keep them running for a little while. A good heavy should have a base extraction rate (BER) of 13 and a hopper that holds at least 110k (althoughthe hopper sizewon't matter much for a while). The best thing about this methodis that anyone can doit regardless of profession. Having an artisan survey for you at first would be helpful, but it'snot necessary. If you can get the initial investment money together at the beginning, this can keep you supplied with credits as long as you keep them. Good luck, and may the force be with you!
