I'm temporarily suspending my tailor account. Since I plan to have her return at some point, I decided to restock over 2,000 items to prevent them from going poof. The hours that it's taking me to do this chore is not what I would consider to be fun and certainly doesn't seem like I'm playing a game.

When a sale expires with no sales that means A. The product was overpriced. B. The product has no demand. I really feal for the tailor the craft really isnt fair for you guys. Clothes rarely have any intrinisc value. Yes I have two toons, and have yet to feal compelled to buy clothing. Infact I end up throwing alot of clothing away I loot. In my oppinion clothing should never have been a loot item. Clothing should also be built with skillmods in them. That way people feal value in buying clothing.
Perhaps the devs will let totally decayed clothing vanish off a body. Most likely though nobody will notice. Seeing as everyone wears armor anyway.

Not over priced... I sell droids *chuckles* My most expensive droid is 30k, droids like clothes do not decay so people never have need beyond maybe the BH droids.

I gave up vendors long ago after they added limits to it and also the maintence costs...........too much for me to handle. And people complaining about my prices even tho they are like the lowest in the galaxy.....Also restocking it everytime someone requests something is a pain......vendor on tatooine near the mid of the planet while your on dath and someone is waiting at the vendor hoping you would come to restock it for him.........Its a pain..........

In case of the tailor it's none of both. I do quite nice sales, but to have these sales I have to offer a wide variety of clothes the customers can choose from. But of course, I don't sell everything (I sell enough to keep me busy for 2 hrs. of crafting 2 times a week, wouldn't want more of it anyway
). There are more people looking to have their toons properly dressed than you might think. Of course, if I were looking to get rich, I'd choose a different crafting profession.
I earn 50% through BE enhanced clothes and components and 50% with usual clothes.

Completely untrue for tailors. I ran an extremely sucessful clothing business. The key was to have many styles of clothing and a wide variety of colors. Obviously I wasn't going to have people buy out my stock every month, but I always wanted to make sure I'd have something for every taste. You'd be surpised how many people do care about their character's appearance. Just because you don't, that doesn't make it the norm.
I also think there are other crafting professions that could carry a wider stock, but are discouraged to do so because of the cumbersome merchant system. Weaponsmiths could carry more starter items, armorsmiths could carry a wider variety of armor (even if it's composite with varying protections), etc. Why should we behindered because something doesn't sell?

How come no one is complaining about stocking too? I'd love to be able to select multiple items in my inventory and then give them all the same price and post them at once...
Posting 40 crates of identical items one by one is just unnecessary

I'm pretty sure that this has been on the Merchant forums top 5 for 18 months.
I fail to see how it affects development of the economy, though, or any of the prefaces for this forum.

Anyhow, I know adding a resell button that retains price & decription would reduce 5 or 10 mins worth of work into a couple of seconds. Also if there was a way tostock multipleitems with the same price (asRagnaat mentioned), this would reduce the amount of time. Reducing the amount of time would allow us to restock items more often.
Im a merchant/doctor/swordsman so I have to find time to restock between buffing, hunting, finding resourcesand killing stuff.

I agree, but this is a 2 min. job - click - enter - click - enter... Not really fun, but it's done quickly. Restocking a vendor from stockroom with 500 different items is... err... different.

This point has been beaten to death, so I'll make it quick. Just want to point out it's not just tailors. In my case, it means that I didn't spam, so I didn't generate traffic. My prices are about 25% lower than most other smith's on the server and my armor is just as good or better. I've got an 80kin/68base/9stun suit that I sell for 150k, good price, good suit.

Get the items from Stockroom into your inventory, and start the so called 2 min. job click, enter, click, enter, click, enter...etc.

A factory run with 40 crates of anything will be sold with the same price for each item. 500 pants, jackets, dresses, shirts, skirts and whatever will have a lot of different prices, so there is not such a way for it. As I don't know the prices for each and every item I sell by heart, I need to look them up in my price list, because it looks a bit stupid if I have 3 hotpants in the vendor for 850 cr. and restock the others with 650 cr. And even if I knew them, I would have to change the prices for the different items I restock.
