I bought 20 containers of the bazar yesterday and there was at least 20 more there.... I figure at least 50% of em are failed slices, but still....

Well, I gave up on slicing. It seems that unless you want to hang around to starports and banks begging to pay people to unlock their containers (not a very smugglerish activity in my book) then you will never get past that first block.

Feh! I've tripped over a couple of locked containers myself recently. But when I was working on Slice I, I had the most luck by hanging out in popular places and *occasionally* /whispering that I was available to unlock containers. While waiting and enjoying the show (when in the cantina), I'd be grinding away at my spice practice.

BTW, all those hides I collected while working my way up the Pistol and Unarmedlimbs sure came in handy for grinding my way up the Spice limb. I also did spice grinding while waiting for the fricking timer to cycle on my terminal slicing during Slice II.

You bought locked containers from the bazaar. Good Lord. I just hit Novice Smuggler today on Scylla and figured I check the bazaar for containers.

all for what, some workman's gloves and a cdef carbine. No thank you. Looks like I'll start running NPC missions in hopes that a container will drop. I had three saved in inventory from all my fighting to get unarmed and pistoleer, failed on two and success on one. Whopping total of 250 Slicing xp. At this rate, I will be a Master Pistoleer trying to find locked containers drop before I even get the 5k for Slicing II.

Anybody have any suggestions on a good place to find containers? Dungeons? A specific type of NPC (besides the Meatlumps in Kor Vella).

STOP BITCHING ABOUT THE PRICE OF CONTAINERS ON THE BAZAAR. I loot more then 3k from NPC's just looking for the **edit** things. I'd be more then happy to pay 3k for one. I killed almost 300 NPC's today and not a single container, and it was the same spot I found 2 yesterday where I killed about half as many, so obviously someone changed the drops on purpose in this new patch cause they want to gate a freaking profession after only a few months!

Don't forget the 1,000 credits each for the clamps (if you can find someone willing to sell them to you). You wouldn't want to pay 3,000 for a locked container only to futz it on a 50/50 slice!

ahh, I now see the method behind the madness.

No wonder Han Solo was in debt to Jabba. He had to borrow the money to buy locked containers and clamps to level up in Slicing I.

yeah lets gate a profession only a few months into the game thats a great idea you bonehead.

I am on Corbantis based in Tyrena, Corellia. I have one container I'll be happy to give to someone trying to reach slice I. If you don't have a clamp, I'll sell you one for 500 and give you the waypoints of a couple of guys that will sell you crates. If there is a mission disc in the container, I'll just have to trust you to give it back to me. I would rather not give it to someone that is already past slice I -- you guys could use it but don't need it.

Although at least one has closed his vendor -- I think -- there are atleast acouple of smugglers on Naboo that sell clamps. Believe it or not, I've seen them on the bazaar for 300 in Kadaara. At 90 resources per clamp that is pretty darn cheap.

There are also at least 2 vendors on Corellia that I know of that sell them.

For the longest time I had a couple of threads floated for clamp vendors so if you search these boards, you need never get that angry buzz again.

I'm logged out for the night but catch me in game tomorrow and we can work something out on that container. First come first serve...

Hello i have just achieved Smuggler

And do not fancy staying in the citys at the moment asking for peoples containers as i need the pistol xp, so i was wondering what is the best mobs to attack to get containers, i have fought ragtags outside of coronet but they do not seem to drop very often are there better mobs ?

Doesn't matter, any humanoid mob will do.

It took me an hour and a half, on a friday night, to get slice 1 done. I stood in Moenia yelling I'd slice containers for free, and then in Coronet. Trust me, after you kill about 100 meatlumps/swoopers or whatever and get maybe 1 or 2 ( 20 needed to make slice 1), you'll gladly stand and ask for containers! lol Well, maybe not, but the Pistol XP to me wasn't worthrunning around for 3 or 4 days hoping to loot locked containers. Also check the "misc" category on the bazaar. Sometimes you'll get lucky.
