I'd like to start out by saying that I mastered the brawler tree early as an attempt to help me along my way to becoming a Master Fencer... i never even viewed the abilities it might yield as holding real potential, i just wanted the defensive bonuses etc. I then went on to master fencer, waiting eagerly to learn if i might become a jedi one day... untill the devs released their, as i like to call it, 'random' method, which made me quit on the spot. I just couldn't comprehend having t tackle every single profession and quest in order to try and just become force sensative... so i'd be able to start over.... bump that. Anyway... my brother persuades me back on last night and i renew my account, play with the speeders, and come to read the forums, and lo i learn that i held the potential to solo krayt's? Damn... i HATED people i saw doing stuff like that using stuns and knockdowns. To hell with them! I never used warcry, i did fine without it, and socan all of you. I like being a brawler as much as the next guy, but not if it means having an easy route to overcoming foes that shouldn't be solod. Nuff said.

Yes, but the amount of complaining about Warcry II doesn't even come close to the amount of whining about TKA's UA KD II and that hasn't been nerfed yet.


This is some developer's personal pet peeve and that's the reason it's being changed. If it were completely up to the whiners, UA KD II would've been history long ago.


What it seems this might be meant to do is let you focus on one creature (in PvE) while the others ignore you for 10-20 seconds. Not sure what it can do in PvP. Perhaps the same?

In it, people are talking about all the uber mobs they soloed by keeping mobs chain frozen with Warcry. Especially interesting is the guy who says he soloed a Krayt only getting hit 3 times or so between warcrys. Thats enough for him to heal up, and keep beating the dragon. I doubt SOE wants people doing that.


Im not exactly happy that Warcry is being changed like this, but its not just PvP tactics that were being affected by it. Its PvE too. Youll also notice that in the last few patches, anything that was described by the community as a means to "get around" the 30 sec timer on KD is being nerfed. Chargeshot (KD lite), Warcry... I wouldnt be surprised if Dizzy gets hit soon.







If the change is due to "freezing" high level mobs like Kryats, why the heck don't they just give resists to warcry to certain mobs. How easy a fix that would be.

easier to "fix" warcry rather then change the module for every creature that needs a warcry resist....


warcry 2 was not meant to be area effect - the devs may not even realize it is working aoe right now. if that is the case then that explains much of your frustration. if the design called for wc2 to be single target - to them this would be an upgrade at the same time as allowing them to stop people from permafreezing high level content. the idea being that they would be trading one uberuseful skill for a very useful skill. WC2 is damaged in their eyes.

The person that cliamed to have soloed a krayt with warcry2 and only getting hit3 times most likely a defense stacker with doctor buffs, good armor andchefs food. When the defense stacking is fixed and you still see a great need then nerf warcry2 but doing multiple nerfs withoutwaiting to see how they will effect the players will destroy what were once fun and worthwhile professions.


It appears that the same tactic that was used for the bleed nerf is going to be making me wonder why I even keep hope that the dev's sole purpose isn't to ruin this game.


o well that is my rant I guess I should just start ginding rifleman or combat medic

SoE, just leave Warcry alone would you please?


If you are so insistant on having a special that provides some level of "crowd" control, then instead of changing Warcry, create a new special. Seems pretty simple.


Ugh, this combat balance just makes me cringe a little bit more each time something is "tweaked".

I'll bring my issue on this in here too. Bleeds and auto attacks. We engage a mob, grouped or not, and my pikeman self gets surrounded. Pull out the area attacks, support lays down bleeds. I find the going to be a lil tough and use the 'new' warcry to back up and give myself some breathing room. Due to the fact I enter the scrap with my basic lance to land status changes, I Warcry and end up hitting my main target twice before the animation ends, one target has broken the delay before I even get a chance to peace out. So I pull out of the mix, main target now in tow, ok, 1 mob for the next 20 seconds will improve my survivability. The other 4 cannot attack, untill the bleeds that my carbineer put down tick on the other mobs and now their delay is broken. So all 5 are on me, or maybe just 3 and the other two rush my partner due to aggro off the bleed he set down.



So in a nut shell I effectively delay 4 mobs for about 5 seconds and one mob for 1 sec, the speed cap on my sliced basic. Now it would seem that I should just take all the points I just spent to get master brawler and go CH, because obviously Melee classes are not designed to tank.





There comes a time in every mans life when 86 years is just too damn long...

Defense stacking will not protect you from something with as much accuracy as a Krayt, only toughness, armor and buffs can do that.

ok wookie here I can't wear any real armor so the defense stacking was my only hope. Did they take into account wookies? Mabye give us the ability to stack while others can't because god knows everyone is complaining about tka but a damn rifleman can kill me in 2 shots from 50 meters away. If this is true should i just delete my char and come back human since the Imperials are not the only people in the galaxy that seem to want bend me over.

Oh quit crying! A break to spice, heal and otherwise catch your breath is a great idea. And to those of you who are swordsman and can't solo mobs anymore becuase of this "nerf" you must be doing other things wrong, becuase when i was master swordsman i could tank 2 enraged rancor at one time and not need to use war cry ever. Only time i use war cry was during pvp. So don't worry people you can do without warcry.

I find it really strange that a melee class is being nerfed again, when melee is already at such a disadvantage in pvp vs. ranged attacks. At one point I wanted to be all melee, but soon realized in pvp that I was at a huge disadvantage (although melee with master brawler gave me a fighting chance), so I picked up a ranged prof also (dropping master brawler in order to do so). Now they want to get rid of just about the only skill that allows melee classes to do something about the kiting and/or combat medic poisons (which are now a part of just about every pvp battle--better get your attacks in quick before that mind poison takes you down nearly instantly). Do we even think about pvp when making these changes? For those who think 'a short break to heal and spice' or whatever would be good, try that in pvp when even more mind poison and/or ranged attacks will be invading your 'little break.' Maybe a little break is nice when fighting pikets or something stupid like that in pve, but not when dealing with kiting pvp masters.
