Streetracer, please educate us, what is a brawler's purpose? If there is a way I can gain UA xp without going toe to toe with the mobs, then I'll agree no tankin' is needed...but it seems to me that as a UA, pretty much ALL I do is take hits and keep aggro whether I want it or not.

Sir_Voors, I apologize, I didn't mean to come off so strongly there. But your post still fits with what I said, tactics aren't for a "What's wrong with brawlers?" board. Hell, lets take that over to the "What's wrong with scouts?" board, because I agree with you, traps should work like, well...traps! Stun trap oughtta keep them from bashing my brain in for 3 or 4 rounds depending on the quality of the trap, same with blind...dizzy trap ought to give me a higher chance to knock em down, etc, etc. But even better, since UA brawlers have these abilities anyway, why not make them viable to use so I don't have to use traps at all? What we have to address here, for our correspondant, is the issues we perceive as most in need of attention. In my first post, while I may not have been as coherent as I have tried to be since then, I was basically telling Spaz that I think he hit the nail on the head. If Sony can mange to even fix half of those issues..well, 2 of them, it would go a long way to making the class better and more fun to play.

We obviously share many of the same concerns over on the Teras Kasi boards. Just submitted my issues this morning.

Most of these issue's involve more than just one profession. All melee professions are effected by these issues.


Lets hope we can see some movment on this.

err talking about your pet peeve of knucklers. Don't you think we should have better damage than a range dude at a similar level, i mean they shoot from 64 metres away while we stand there and take the hits for them. You wanna nerf knucklers? I dont want u in the job.

Ummm...just a question: Aren't you supposed to be the Brawler correspondant? The class includes Polearm and 1H and 2H Sword, not just Unarmed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also.. as far as makinga brawler able to take a few more hits.. what we really need is someway for us to get in battle mind heals. 90% of my incaps/deaths in a group are because I run out of mind points as long as I have a medic healing me.

WingMan187you are wrong. My entire point is that this is future, you cannot expect yourself to run up to a guy who is shooting you with a gun, take him down, and then go and face to face take down a jedi master.



If we were to be able to do that, we would be way too good, and marksman would not be good at all. Right now game is perfectly balanced just like in the movie, a guy with a gun is far more dangerous on range then a melee, yet on close combat ranged guy is a lot weaker then a melee.



What you want from a simple brawler is too fricken much, there is no such thing as a tank in this game. I am right now raising 4 classes and it is going pretty well for me.

Streetracer81... if we weren't meant to be tanks, then why is there Skill Mod: Taunt +10 at novice brawler, and Skill Mod: Taunt +20 at master brawler?

If a healer in your party gets assaulted by a bunch of creep(monster/npc/mob) this could save your party a lot by you making those hit you while healer will heal you. Taunt isn't really helpfull from my experience.

Streetracer, you must have not had your pools tweaked right. You know, there's nine pools, not three.....


Maybe if you'd beenplaying the game a little bit longer......you would realize what you had to do as a brawler to beat that jedi....or maybe if you played a little bit longer you would have realized what everyone else had in your group, that to beat a harder mob like a jedi, you had to be a marksman.

Spaz what issues? All you do is call for a nerf and bring up unexistent issues like "fighting while moving".

For a UA, fights are hard, but for armed brawlers fights are terible. because we haveto get better wepons.And we all know theweponsmithsHATE us. Go into any shop and find end-game style ranged wepons and in the melee section....... you find daggers and a sword if your lucky, so our problems go beyond our nonability to take on tough mobs. I am master one hand and armed with a sword, a regular metal sword, and i get creamed by this adv marksman cause he has a custom maderifle AC=2 that does 210+ damage to me from 100 m, while i have a *looted* sword AC=1 that does 200 damage if im lucky with my best special, 1h hit1, that drains my action fast and i can only hit him if i charge him down, at the same time hes shooting me, then i have to wait while i execute my special move...... and hes still shooting, then after taking 200 damage to his action pool he runs away still shooting.......... doing 170s and with specials 223s off myHAM bars while irun after him and every shot that hits makes me slow up a bit!!



IS THIS YOUR DEFINITION OF FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!


(also any race can excel at marksman but only some are good brawlers, so what if i love swords, i also love the Mon Calamari, why must i choose one or the other) PS. i ended up picking both but a Mon Calbrawler is not easy to play with

TheTrueLord that part you are talking about is not in the hands of sony, it is simply server economy which is built by people on the server 100%. How it works you ask?



Supply and Demand. There is a much higher demand for blasters and rifles so thats what you see a lot and what is sold a lot. Do a lot of people buy other stuff? Well depends on your server population and its economy. It is a really great invention when server economy is completely run by the people on it and not sold by NPC's in some corner of West Freeport.



If you can't find any weapon, well you just got to keep on searching farther, asking weaponmakers to make you some. This game is really easy and fun once you understand the whole concept of it is totally different from everquest.
