While slightly underhanded... I've actually sold some failed attempt containers on the baxaar for about 2k each.... seems smugglers will do anything for the chance at xp....

I have come across a locked container, found off a bandit. I have no idea how to open it. Do I need a lock pick or slicer skills? Any help would be appreciated.

give it to a smuggler, some charge some don't. They can try and open it, but if they fail, it's locked forever. Normally you get any random stuff inside them. Yesterday I got 2 metal staff and 1 belt in one, and a single piece of Aluminium resource and a broken electrobinoculars in the other heh

Thanks for the info. So you pretty much need to be a smuggler for these things to be of any use. Unless you know someone very trustworthy, I can't possibly see a smuggler, even after being paid, finding a rare item in the container and actually giving it to the owner. Is this what were looking at for locked containers, cause how are you going to know if everything is in the container when the smuggler gives it back?

Im a smuggler, ive sliced hundreds of containers and one thing I can tell you is you will not find any rare items in them. Over and over again all they have is crap. That being said just do a low level smuggler a favor and just give it to him,as slicing containers is the only way to get to Slicing I. Im sure he or she will gladly give you all the crappy items inside.

I have a question about these "locked containers" that show up as loot every so often:What's inside them?

I had one of these in my inventory for awhile but gave it to one of my group members as a reward. I'm sure some of you smugglers out there have been able to slice one open. I just wanted to know what's inside? credits, weapons, datapads, armor....etc? My group member hasn't been able to open her reward either.

Just curious.

Probably the best thing about finding locked containers is that once they are opened you can use the container for a little extra inventory space.

First off, locked containers are the ONLY WAY a new smuggler can become a more advanced smuggler. Do smugglers a favor please and find one, for he or she will be able to try to open it for you!

Secondly, please don't be disappointed when you have it opened. Locked containers usually contain such fantastic goodies as, a stack of 2 meat, 1 mellon, a CDEF weapon, or a stack of 1 resource. It's like a Christmas...where somebody decides to kick you in the teeth.

Thirdly they look quite nice in a house. The unlocked containers are about waist high, hold 20 object, and just look interesting. So putting them in your house is a "good thing."

Finally, when somebody attempts to slice and fails (it is a 50-50 chance), just let them destroy it. There's a rather nasty grief tactic that's currently occuring with already sliced and failed containers. Just let him destroy it and trust it wasn't unlocked...even if he's screwing you, he's screwing you out of something wonderful like, a mellon, stack of meat, or a CDEF weapon.

You have to realize, a Smuggler is also a businessman. Because of the nature of our business, you need to work hard to earn the trust of your customers. Lockedcontainers are only useful to smugglers and it's your brother that you stab in the back when you sell them broken.
