thought i would post a test i watched last week. a group from a guild was messing around and started dueling. worked out to be a test of which guy was better pvp. i watched a mbh take down a master rifleman starting from 64 meters out. mbh beat a tka master starting from 40 meters out then again starting from 10 meters out (no dizzy kd used). the mbh then defeated every other player there 1 on 1. total different players beaten multiple times = 8, only the two mentioned showed their master skills, dont know what the rest were.


as im a master rifleman i got in close enough to watch my combat chat while the mbh/mrm were fighting. the bh hit the rifleman almost as often at 64 meters as the rifleman hit the bh. on average did more damage and of course used eyeshot to hit the same mind pool the rifleman used up doing specials.


as a mch i often hear that ch's are support roles not meant to do alot of damage, as amrm i hear that riflemen are support roles not meant to take alot of damage. i think the bh role is preety well suited to this environment and his role as primarily pvp, pve humanoid.


bh has alot of very specialized attacks to target any weakness the other players have. has high damage output and almost every good special used by the other prof's. he must think about his combat role possably more than the other prof's but has the tools available to win against anything out there.


just a side note: shortly after their test the same mbh wasincaped by a group of wrix's from a nest he shot.

You do realize that a defense vs. status effect of even 50 or more will still allow an attack through, just less often. It's not like it never happens, it happens all the time.

Vulnerability negates any Armor Rating / Resistances.

And even if it had to go through the Armor, it would be 50% Damage, hence AP1 = 50% less damage.
Effectivness / Special Protection not counting.

I see no reason that BH should get any kind of special defenses. Even with our defenses, you won't see many of us without some kind of medic skills. BHs can add defense mods quite easily by choosing a single line of skills from another profession. Even after the recent changes, BH's are still the dominant pvp profession. However, a good thing that has happened, is that now the advantages aren't as clear cut, and the other combat professions are looking more attractive. IMO, the other combat professions have caught up to BH a bit, but are still not on par.

if you can't do well in pvp with master BH, something is wrong. i've seen my friend (yes, a master BH) wreck shop while in pvp. he doesn't stick to the scatter pistol and spam eyeshot like 99% of the BH's do. even the master BH's i see use that move far too often. he uses his carbines, he uses his LLC, he uses a tangle pistol when his opponents have composite armor on. after seeing this, and being on the losing end of some battles against imperial MBH's, i would say they're pretty powerful in pvp.


yes, low blow and charge shot will kd you from distance. yes, you will get dizzy/kd'd from tka's (if you let them get close enough, or if they sneak up on you in group battles). but stand back from the main scrum, and you should do fine.

as a master commando i ccan tell you that we need defense, we are on the ground before we can even get within 16m to use our specials, i cant tell you how anoying it is to be spammed by a KD shot. unlike other ranged classes, we cant use specials from 64m away

The only way I can kill people as a MASTER BH, is to run them into an aggro mob.


haha seriously, dependingmy template at the time, I'll use stopping shot or i'll use chargeshot. Chargeshot is the bugged carbineer knockdown. I knock them down once, then use sprayshot (dizzy, blind, stun) and hope they stay down. 70 ranged defense isn't exactly easy to work around. Sure we have moves that can hit for 1500 pvp damage, but honestly, we even have trouble hitting novice BHs (practically no ranged defense). I really covet your skill mods and defense mods, but after the time it took me to master BH (majority was pre-patch) I can't bring myself to drop it.

Great offense is all fine and dandy, IF WE COULD FREAKING HIT THINGS. How I see it, both us carbineer and BH are in the same boat. You have defenses and broken shots, we have somewhat working specials but 0 defense.

Does it matter where we spent our skill points to get where we are? How many of you use marksman specials? How many rangers use scout skills at master ranger? We take too many skill points to master, have too few defense mods, and are thought of too highly. We get hit by everything, commando flame hits, rfleman 1000+dmg mind hints.

This forum is for Carbineers, I suggest you go to the BH forum and cry as high as you can.


It is so typical, when I was pistoleer they kept crying on us being more powerful than them....

Now you move to every forum possible? Get your own forum and stop trying to steal attention all the time, the devs will adjust if they feel you deserve it. Not because you should be able to be über but because they will think BH's deserve it. So your whining does nothing.


Seriously, you say BH's lack defense and cant hit others that have it. I see two options, either you stop attacking other than BH's who has same defense as you. Or you get whatever defense you want and then you HAVE to realize that once you have defense, you have no reason to be so powerful in offense and have to get weakened seriously..... and then we can say, welcome to the world of an ordinary non BH fighter!



For you do not deserve to have both defense and offense when every other profession has to choose between them, you did not get a gun to your head when you chose profession....


You knew what BH would lead you to, they have never had defense, not even in beta so it is hardly a suprise they dont have any now!



Yet, please leave the forum for Carbineers, or instead discuss carbine issues here!

i mastered bh a little while ago, and i recently dropped it all. tried my hardest to max it out with other skills (you know, the 33 sp left over) and in the end, no matter how high our accuracy or our speed gets, we will still get chewed up easily in group pvp. sure, with carbineer crippleshot and its accompanying acc. mods i got a lot better in pvp... relatively easily kd'ing most people, but its nearly impossible to get a good kd/dizzy on multiple people at once, which would be our only option for handling a pvp group fight.


bh defense is the carbine line... problem is that it doesnt work when you cant kd/dizzy/blind/stun/etc... most of the people on the field in the first couple tries. not to mention that by the time you get them to stick youve nearly killed yourself with the carbine ham costs.


my recommendation... just give up bh now, and come back later if it gets fixed. inv. xp is easy to get now, so its not the boogie man you encountered the first time around. you will enjoy the game more in the long run.


btw... i even tried giving up all bh skills other than the pistol and carbine lines, then supplementing with pisoleer dodge mods/state change mods, and carbineer counterattack. it didnt make the difference i was hoping it would
