Thread: BH Loot and Complaints
Another point people are missing is BHs have to spend money to run these missions. A) We need to use a probebot to find the planet the mark is on. B) Use a seeker to track the mark. C) Pay for shuttle hops to and from starports. D) Some of these marks hit pretty hard therefore our armor takes a beating. Any other profession can just go kill NS, krayt, gorax, ect for hours on end never having to leave a general area, having to spend no credits on equipment use, and turn around and either make themselves stronger with this loot or sell it and become rich. Bounty hunters need to really put in some work. I ran 20 mission yesterday which took me several hours to complete. I looted (3) BH armor schematic, bunches of smuggler items, (2) "good" quality crystals, and (1) SEA which wasn't even useable to me. I have zero probelm with BHs getting some non-jedi involved content. I mean seriously we get flammed for hunting jedi because that's our end game content and now we take crap because our NPC marks are worth doing again.
I believe someone earlier said it best. Try improving your own profession first instead of trying to ruin someone else's fun. Have people really degraded into crying 4 year olds screaming he gets that I want one too.

Hell mobs are two easy, with the exception of Black Sun, all melee mobs are soloable and almost all ranged mobs. No risk over reward, makes the game boring. Lets make this harder. I would have hoped the mark's AI would have included use of root and dots, jeez they don't even move or run. Also maybe you don't know who the mark is and spawn a group, you have to take them all down, a bit more variation, more risk. Also every mob drops something. I can sell this in addition to the payout making every mission pull in at least over 50k for maybe 5 mins work, 10 at the outside.I hunt a mixture of marks and high end mobs. Marks drop by far the better loot, no question at all, and also they are not in GROUPS. You don't need crowd control, just stick on auto attack and heal once in a while. Illegal Core Boosters, sell at 600k per, don't see these drop from other ground mobs for example. If we have this great new loot, then it should be more fairly distributed across the loot tables. I don't necessarily want to see a nerf to our great loot, but it is again causing imbalance in the system. Given that this is a new system, similar to post CU, I imagine the devs have turned the loot up, only to slowly turn it down over time so change is well received. If I wasn't a BH and read the first post, I would be pissed off. Rather than alienate other professions we would be better advised to work with them to fix the system as a whole. We have done well as of last patch, if we need to retain it, we need to ensure that we can gain the support of other professions. The argument that we have not had access to being able to fight the other high end mobs doesn't hold water, as BH's we've had it pretty easy and are not worse that any other double master combat prof, in fact any ranged template won't struggle against 99% of mobs in this game, now I just want to see it harder to seperate the men from the boys.
QFE.
I'm not a Jedi, and I'm not really a BH (I have an alt on a server I don't play that respec'd BH), and this is almost my position on this exactly.
As an isolated case, I don't really like this change. Its way too imbalancing, putting way too much loot, some not attainable anywhere else (schems, wep components), and some that aren't reliably obtainable anywhere else (slice components). "You want it, change porfessions" arguments are the oldest and the worst in the books, well second worse only to "don't like it then quit ones".
That said, the ideas behind it are good ones, and with some tweaks or some time to prove this isn't an isolated change then its just fine by me. I've posted in slice tool drop discussions elsewhere my ideas to make this better in general that I'd like to see:
(1) keep schem drops as they are BH specific single use schems that include ASs in the loop
(2) keep component and SEA drops as they are, but raise the levels of those same items on other NPCs that aren't profession specific (or in the case of components, put them on at least 1 other NPC type.. maybe in the DWB or something)
(3) lower drop rates of slice tools off marks *just a bit* and bring them up on other NPCs, as well as raise the level of lower end slice tools on other NPCs (they don't seem to drop off marks much).
The idea ISN'T to nerf marks. It isn't to bring down the fun or productivity of BH's new missions. Its to bring up other things to a level where theres more balance or more access to other players.

However, if people are running BH missions for HOURS at end, the law of averages will catch up and if anything is droppable, it will drop. I do not think that is bad considering the amount of time and effort involved. You got a much better return on your investment of time, and effort hunting Krayts or Nightsisters or Acklayprior to CU. You still do hunting DJK, DJM, or Arrukans missions on Talus they are the only other things droping loot thats any good with maybe a few others also...fix Krayt loot and the Jedi will stop complaning IMO... "
The drop rate cannot be compared ..sadly... out of everyone one of these npc bh missions , they all dropped atleast 1 thing worth keeping.
auakauns and djm consistantly drop items that instantly get deleted and serve absolutely no purpose in game what-so-ever, or in theaukaun missioncase, they drop nothing 9 out of 10 times...
Hmm with a group of 8 people how many aukaans spawn and how many missions can your group go through during the time it takes a bh to go to 3 missions. I guarantee you get just as much good stuff as bh..and more junk

Have you done Aa'kuun missions since the recent loot nerf. I ran mission after mission and I was luck to see a cdef rifle drop. Nothing was dropping.
Krayt's are worse. We killed 2 Adolencents and 1 Grand and they dropped nothing.

you see.. my char has been in existance since launch.. never been a crafter as I have no interest and grinding missions is slow money
I have NEVER seen more than 8 million on this account at any one time.. now if you.. getting 12 million.. 6 million.. in 2 days of looting probably solo.. thats just lame cause If I want those kinds of credits it would require me becoming a BH.. which I really dont want to do
So those of us that dont want to become a crafter/BH get shafted credit wise due to no other way to solo and get high end loot that fastMessage Edited by WNxSaKeN on 08-07-200511:14 PM
I'm for sure not getting that kind of coin. Sure I made a bit of money but I haven't even broke 1Mil in loot since patch 21. That was 4 days ago. 250K a day isn't very much.
tHeRaBiDmOnKeY wrote:the fact that all I get is slicing components in 40+ runs
Maybe a possible increase in good loot depending on if their minions, lieutenants, or boss's
(or maybe its my crappy luck)
I must have the same crappy luck. When I do get good loot. My loot macro breaks and when using the loot box the mark despawns before I can grab the loot.
An MBH could not defeat a nightsister elder without using up the rest of their skill points, is probably what he meant. That's kind of a given, if the CL tells anything a MBH is only CL 55 by itself.
People will always complain. This discussion seems moot to me.

All I'm gonna say is /APPLAUD!!!!!!!!!!
This gives me somethin to do and if these are jedis whining about the loot bhs are getting WAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Deal with it it keeps bhs off of you. So stick with the little Rhyatt trails ![]()
Seriously, if you want to play a game that is balanced on what each player gets, why don't you go play a FPS. That's the only way that you can insure that it's balanced, of course that means you will need skill instead.
Who cares who gets the better loot? The BH stuff isn't uber, the only thing that they get that no one else can is the schematics for "Bounty Hunter Armor", which Jedi don't need anyway.
I think the biggest problem here is that the loot monkeys don't have a static spawn that they can go dominate and corner the market on loot. Get over it, let the Bounty Hunters have their looted schematics for their armor. It's not even great armor, all it is is assault armor with a pretty standard condition. And look at it this way, while all the bounty hunters are out runnin "NPC" missions, they're not interupting the grind of the poor pitiful me Jedi.
