Are you kidding me? So you don't think any new players should be given the opportunity to be a jedi but the mindless people who aren't contributing to the game and are just holo-grinding should be given the opportunity? That's just crazy talk right there.

Evanight,

No offense taken.

I just don't like when people act like it's a God given right to become jedi in this game, when it is not. And besides, with the current system a jedi can be EASILY killed by a BH and a Commando working as a duo, before the jedi reaches Master. I've seen it happen. Just a FYI to those jedi-wannabes who think it's going to be cool to be one. It's not.

I agree with the beast. There's alot more game there, than just becoming a Jedi. I think the game SHOULD stick more to the story and not allow EVERYONE to be one. I play the game to enjoy it, I don't chase holo's...because I like my character the way she is, I don't think she's meant to be a Jedi. She doesn't do thegrinding thing and she doesn't have to master a profession in 3 days...she just lives in Raven Watch and lets the experiencecome naturally as she hunts and crafts. If her predestination were to become aJedi and that becameclear at some point through quests, then maybe she would, but I'm not going to giveup my chosen professions to be an....armorsmith (yuck, thats what my firstholocron said). I really don't like the fact that the character that does the work doesn't become the Jedi. that doesn't make sense to me from a story perspective. All in all, I agree with everything The-beast says and think a quest based system with a pre-designator for force sensitivity would be the best.

I did this last night in Coronet on Gorath. Grouped with 2 other people and ran around attacking a few overt imps. Got a major smackdown put on me from a melee class. Dueled in front of starport then in cantina. Was great fun.

I agree with the beast, the number of jedi needs to be limited to preserve the balence. And as the number of new characters increses theprecent of jedi characters should increase as well. Some to new characters and maby a few to those who have met there requirments but are still not force sensitive. As for profession grinding it is true that you can make a choice. I have two characters, and when I got my life day holocrons one character was directed to be a carbiner the other a musician. I alredy had plans for the latter character, but as to the former I decided what the heck. The point is you either chose to begin down that path or chose to continue your own.

okey this may seem like a stupid question but do holos normaly say silent or quiet.Mine said your holocron is quiet and you must continue on your journey to enlightment on your own.I was wondering if this is what everyone gets and someone just forgot what it said when they first got it and everyone has said silent since or has the message changed.

P.s. if this sounds like a stupid question sorry but please answer

Sounds like a waste. What can one jedi do, that another could not? Why reroll your jedi?

Damonbrinkley, I'm not sure if your post was refering to mine but I'll say it again to make sure I explained it right.

Everyone should have the opportunity to become a jedi, everyone. I simply said that as an option, perhaps new players should only be given a choice to be "one" character whether it be a jedi or marksman or chef or whatever. the older players especially the ones who have completed holos, should be given the "second" character. I hope that clears it up a bit better. And I still understand if you don't agree. Because hinestly there shouldn't be any jedis at all. During this time in SW history there was suppossedly no jedis (exept for perhaps a few still left alive and in hiding). I could see players being Force Sensitive. But to be able to be a jedi should just not be allowed until after "Return of the Jedi". Since this game takes place after "A New Hope" and before "Empire Strikes Back"; there should be absolutly no jedi except for perhaps a few npc Hiding out. That's how I really feel about this game. I do believe that they should of just made the game as far as time line goes; after "return of the jedi". So that way you can still have the Imperial army, and the rebels still fighting for control. Obviously some one in the Imperial army will try to take rank or even several Imperial factions trying to seize control. Where now the rebels are on more even ground thanks to the destruction of the second Death Star. Jedis can now be placed as "dark force wielders" or "Jedi initiates", and the other "Force Sensitive" npcs. Now we can have plp choosing the path to the force, albeit a dificult one. Finding "Luke" should be a "quest" priority so that he can enlighten one in the "ways of the force". Well just an idea of the top of my head. This game would probably be better off without jedi, but alas it's too late now. So on with the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My personal opinion of the whole Jedi issue is that Jedi could destroy the Star Wars Galaxies game if the revamp is not thought about carefully. As mentioned before the game is based on the timelinewhen thereare exactly4 Jedisin the entire galaxy- Yoda, Darth Vader, Palpatine and that Dark Jedi clone from the Zhan novels. Luke has started in the path towards becoming a Jedi but is nowhere near ready yet and Leia does not know about her force sensitivity.

Therefore why doesall the Jedi-wannabe's insist that becoming a Jedi has to be easier and SOE have to change the rules???

Surelyto keep consistency, SOE have to take into accunt with any new Jedi system changes that people can be Force Sensitive wthout actuallytaking the Jedi Profession. Ifthe structure was made in a way that people can aim to become force sensitive by doing a series of quests and gain some low powered Force powers. ie.temp enhanced healing, reflexes, improved aim, etc. without actually getting a lightsaber, then it would allow players of all skills and professions the ability to dabble in the Force without ruining the consistency for everyone involved.

From this if people want to develop more and more Force sensitivity, they can eventually after a very long complicated process learn the skills to drop professions on their existing character and follow the Jedi professions as structured at the moment. Note that I do not take the FS slot and new char into consideration as I think this is crazy when you have spent a lot of time with your character, the last thing I want to do is start again with a new name and image.

Personally I think they will tie the new 'quest for Jedi' in with holo's...instead of sending you on grindfest, they will guide you thru your quest..

Considering after the christmas holo fade away, they should be moved to FS NPC's only..and since they use the force now, they will very hard to come by and just as rare as they once where..
