I'm using a different browser now and I'm able to post (I'll leave those other posts untouched for comic relief).



Seriously, I guess I'm an old Bounty Hunter still clinging to the old ways...


I'm a Master BH, Master Marksman, Master Scout, Ranger 0040 and Novice Pistoleer and Noivce Carbineer



I'm really not sure what to do post CU.


I love imerssion and role-play first and foremost, but it's not going to be much fun if I'm not much of a solo hunter.



I kept the master scout because I fell in love with the Ranger Skills.


I always hoped they'd make Master Bounty Hunter more worthy ofthe old master marksman/master scout requirements instead of lessening the requirements.



I also loved being a master marksman and pulling out any of those weapons.


If I drop master marksman,suppose I can still do that with the guns that are CL based only.



So, I'm wondering what might go well with Master BH, Master Scout, Ranger 0040...


It's frutrating though... as far as game-mechanics go, there seems little reason to hold onto my scout and ranger skills...




I know this kind of a template is very different from what everyone else has been discussing, but I always liked the challenging/lesser-templates, that made me have to use my head and try and use every tactic I could pull off... as opposed to having the best set of skills... I'm a scrapper.



Are these days gone for SWG?

It's the trade-off you get for the priveledge of playing a Jedi. In this era Jedi should not be playing in fronty of starports like children playing stickball in the street, they should be hiding in the shadows, avoiding notice. If you don't like getting BHed, don't play a Jedi.



No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

Remember... to Cancel you have to go to Register Expansion in the Launchpad.

omadnay, I was just like you.I figured it was hard as hell to get Master Bounty Hunterwhen this game first started soI held on to Master Scouttoo. It is completely useless my friend.Ienjoyed ranger too but it's not worth it. I still won't get rid of Master Marksman, and I wish that was still a requirement (too many BH are starting to appear). I love the newCU, the jedi are kings (which they should be) but now we have a fighting chance. I love it, this game is fun again. I just wish they up the skill points to 300 lol.

MBH-MCM- with whatever is left put into pistols?


just wondering if CM is worth going for master for now that we have the cu

Im going MP MBH and rest in smuggler as before CU I was 3040 BH, MP, 0040 smuggler. My question is should i go 0040 smuggler or 0004 smuggler. The melee defense and FD are nice, but I lose the specials. The snare in xxx4 is appealing and it has ranger accuracy instead of unarmed stuffs.


So my real question is I guess, does anyone know if FD is like it was before and super uber in that I will never die in PvE (never used it in pvp) and is the 15 melee defense (would put me at 240) > the snare and accuracy.

What was your template? Master Bounty Hunter, Master Commando, 0/0/0/1 Pistoleer, 0/0/1/0 Smuggler


What did you like about it?Awesome defensive power (235-255 defenses with commando weapons + duel stance). Awesome offensive abilities including raw damage attacks, AOEs, state changes, and both stopping shot and concussion shot. 2 base takedown abilities. Ability to combo things like improved confusion with a rocket launcher for KD, or concussion shot with a flamer, etc. Feign death ability.


What else did you wish you had?Healing ability. Better use of recon armor


Your favorite specials: Advanced Critical Shot, Concussion shot, Underhand Shot


Your favorite weapon: Plasma Flamer, Rocket Launcher, Lightning Rifle, Proton Rifle/Carb


Overall this is an awesome template. Combining AOE attacks from commando with the damage abilities of BH and the crowd control abilities of pistols and smuggler make this a great build.

How about Master Rifles/MBH 0044 pistols?


I think that'd be a high damage prof mix combined with intimidate shot from Pistols . . .

I'm going to try out MBH/MRifles/Pistoleer 0004 (when I get the pistol XP). I started the game in Nov 2004 and went MMarks/BH, but I thought having all 4 Marksman trees was silly since BH didn't use rifles in their template at all. I like how the revamp lets us pick and choose. It was a hard toss-up between MBH/MCarb/Pistols and what I went with.


I had slipped to melee (TKM/MSwords/MBrawl) after grinding almost all the way to BH.


What I wish we had: Access to more of the ranger skills. BH... tracking people Ranger 0040 I think it is. Um.. duh? Why use droids, when you coulddo it yourself? Gather intel the old fashioned way. But the grind to Ranger is pointless for the rest of the skills, imho. *shrug*


I'll see if my new template ends up being fun, and if not, well... nothing says I have to keep it! lol

Try this on for size guys:



MBH/MCM


Pros:


-Healing naturally. Being pretty much the only profession that can give 2 health drainsneither of which can be healed off by Jedi unless they happen to have x4x4 healer which is almost impossible to find these days. They are actually nice DoTs. I do take a dip in the DPS depo but all the things I can do are usually too much to handle for most Jedi.paralize - poison - fire- KD- duelist stance - attack speed reduction - speed reduction just to name a few good moves I can get things done with.


-that title "master combat medic" usually gets jedi to ask me to heal them..when i get in cluse its paralyze ftw :-p


-alot of CM moves rquire you to be in melee range. just what I need with a bh pistol and a jedi


-moves half come from mind..and half come from action cm and bh respectfully.


-BH/CM + virtually any other BH profession template (as in teaming up) can destroy even the strongest defensive Jedi :-p


- should a fellow grouped bh die...resuerrect ftw



cons:


-DPS like i said..kinda takes a hit


-healing is good..but either my meds suck..or healing sucks now because it takes more than just a few to keep up with a jedi who happens to have a l33t saber.


-generally missions that are 200k + become more difficult to do alone..not that anyone else can say different for the most part. professions like bh/pistoleer have more easy a time taking those missions. Atleast I still have fun with cm though


-i cant say using cm is exactly the fastest way to kill a jedi..not like pistol or rifle..but if done right its just effective. however due to the longer battles, jedi can have a better chance to run away or heal.




overall i like the template. its fun to be useful in a group or do things solo. I fought a Jedi..id say mid level it was 160k mission the other day..said i was the toughest fight he'd ever had. natrually i lost..but barely. Still a great fight imo.

My template


MBH / MCarbineer / MMarksman / Novice Pistoleer 0/0/0/2 --3 skill points left


I like it more because I prefer Carbines than pistols and it gives me the Stopping Shot from Pistoleer tree.


My favorite. Still exploring, so far, I like the



  • Improved Charge Shot (KD most of the time even against NS),

  • Stopping Shots (Root)

  • Adv Critical Shots

  • Improved Leg Shots (Not bad, I think it gives Snare)

  • KD Recovery

  • Confusion Shots

Current Damage Combo: Confusion -> Improved Charge shot -> Adv Critical shot


I think it may give better KD if alter the usage of Underhand and Charge shot. Still need to find out.


My Favorite weapon -- Laser Carbine 380+ DPS can give 1400+ Critical shots


With this template I get, 4/4/4 on offense, defense, and crowd control (Based on CU doco), so I have nothing to complain.


However, I the defense and crowd control on this template is bugged at the moment. So I think I shouldonly getbetter later.

how about a MBH/TKM/novice commando, I am trying this out, and I seem to be haveing good luck with it for PvE, it seems to be a jack of all trades, and Master of none, however I am really enjoying playing it. very versatile.

Forgotto add, I am 4xx4 marksman for the rifle skill, I play a wook, and wanted the bonuses for the assault bowcaster. Anyway I love it.
