Thread: Is this bannable offence?

You don't seem to have any morals at all. Ever hear about the 6th grade bully taking the cookies out of the 1st grade lunches. It was 'ok' because they got to keep the sandwich...

Guys, all this is just semantics. It's simple.
You made an agreement. You lied. It's fraud.
He and his friends bothered you in tells because you sat there to prevent them from going hunting. YOU camped out. YOU started it and the people who say the jede desereved what he gotbecause he was ruining your enjoyment of the game is blind. YOU ruined the jedi and friends' enjoyment of the game by intentionally keeping them from hunting BEFORE they started sending tells by hanging out outside the cantina.
The rest of these posts are just trying to justify the fact YOU wanted to be jerk because YOU saw your presence distrubed them and YOU chose to hang out because YOU thought it was amusing. They sent tells after that. So, honestly, who was the jerk?

Id have to disagree and say they ruined their own entertainment by getting on the terms

I'd never get the job done if I'd drop every mission in a house or kashyyyk. As I said, only reason I accepted his offer wasI could make him come outside this way.

The jedi started it from being a Jedi and being on the terms. He didnt have to camp the Jedi if the Jedi would have just came out sooner. Its all the Jedi's fault
In response to all of the discussion that has occured, I would like to make mention of what I feel is the most important underlying fact that I believe has not been mentioned as of yet: money.
SOE is running a business venture with SWG and the other MMORPG's that they own. While certainly SOE, through their interest in maintaining their income, has the desire to please the customer base through customer service and byanyother means necessary, they are not going to be the righteous crusaders of individual ideaology of what "seems" should be right or not. The most important question to ask ones' self before submitting a complaint is: Will the issue I am attempting to bring attention too be seen as serious enough to warrant a substantial loss in revenue through loss of customers? That is what is important to SOE, money. That certainly does not make SOE bad, or mean. They are running a business for profit, simple as that.
SOE has very expensive, and VERY smart lawyers. Anyone customer may rest assured that that "accept" button that is clicked on every time an individual sign's on to the game, allows SOE to adjudicate any ruling they feel is appropriate so as not to endanger their business venture. So, I believe that the issue at hand should not be seen so much as, "Is this a bannable offense", but rather as, "Is this a bannable offense as it will cause a loss of revenue?".
There are many examples I could give that would seem to be plausible for game play, yet will NEVER see the light of day in game. How come people can not run true crime rings such as loan sharking, racqueteering, bribery, counterfeiting, drugs, etc. . .. Two of the professions that immediately come to mind in game that are TRUE criminal professions within the storyline of Star Wars is Smuggler and Bounty Hunter. You have the smuggler who by all definitions is trafficking goods that are illegal, and the Bounty Hunter who is murdering for money, yet we can not run other kinds of crime rings?
The aforementioned is not brought up to expressmydispleasure, but rather that SOE is going to run the show the way they see fit. I think the crime world itself should be expanded upon significantly. Reality says that there will be many people who are WAY to smart in real life that will completely end up taking over and controlling all aspects of everyday in-game life for the rest of those people who are not on that same train of thought. That would lose SOE a LOT of money as people would become uninterested in the game then, and SOE would lose their revenue due to account cancellations.
Debate away my fellow customers, but remember in the end that the judge, jury and executioner is the same entity that you say "Accept" to, every time you log on to their game server.
Happy Gaming and many more fun future debates!

Summary: Ask yourself if the CSR's will give a sh!t.
lol........Yes......in a way. The main point is that the CSR's have direction from their superiors. They are told what is "mission critical" to ensure happy, continued customer support through paid memberships. The CSR's will care if they are told to care, for the most part. To sound extremely cynical here for a moment: People are really deluding themselves if they feel that their personal feelings are really cared about. Due to SOE's concern for making money, they will act like it, like any good business person or entity would do, but do they really, truly care? I would argue strongly, no.
"Gamer's" are an interesting lot of people, and a very important issue for gamer's is that they are listened too and that they be made to feel that they are important. For the most part, if you tell them something that they like to hear, they go along with it, from what I have seen in some of my past personal experiences. Nothing can happen and yet they feel great because even though nothing did happen, someone listened to them, and made them feel important. Mission accomplished for SOE. They have made their money, the gamer is happy, and nothing has changed, lol. While certainly some CSR's and others might very well be able to point out times in which the opposite rang true, I feel confident that most people would agree with my viewpoint.
Hit accept or decline, it is all up to you. lol

So....I find a mark who's sitting inside a player city cantina. First I was thinking tojust drophis mission and go away. But it appears my presence is greatly disturbing this jedi and his friends, so I stay just for fun. Obviosly they want to go hunting or something like thatbut can't as long as I'm there.
They keep sending me tells such as "gimme one, just ONE reason why he should come out and lose his hard earned exp to you". But I just tell them, if he isn't going to come out thenwhy is he so worried about me. I usually don't talk to my marks unless they start talking to me.
I move a bit further from the house to a town nearbyand send a couple of seekers after him and from the waypoints I can see he has come out, but when he sees me coming he runs back inside, send me a tell "do you think I'm stupid?". After thishe logs out and I go do other things in the meanwhile but he keeps sending me tells with his alt so I let him think I'm still stalking him.
Later he logs back in and I go check him out but it looks like he's still inside. After this mission has been going forabout 5-6 hours he makes me an offer: he pays me his bounty and gives me a fight as long as I won't death blow him. I accept the offer but only because I know this is the only way to make him come outside.
So I do what most of us would probably do, I fight and death blow him anyway, despite the deal we made. His friends say they are writing tickets to csr and get me banned for doing this. As they claim, someone else got perma banned for doing the same for 3 hours....so should I be worried?
What I understand the "crime" here was that I was "camping" my mark and made a deal but broke it. I think he was pretty naive to beleive a BH whos holding his mission will not death blow if given change to do so. And I felt Ihad deserved right to complete my jobafter doing same mission for 6 hours.
His friends also said that no other BH would agree with me on this (that its OK to do this),so just thought I'd see ifthis iscorrect. So what do you guys think?
