So....I find a mark who's sitting inside a player city cantina. First I was thinking to just drop his mission and go away. But it appears my presence is greatly disturbing this jedi and his friends, so I stay just for fun. Obviosly they want to go hunting or something like that but can't as long as I'm there.
They keep sending me tells such as "gimme one, just ONE reason why he should come out and lose his hard earned exp to you". But I just tell them, if he isn't going to come out then why is he so worried about me. I usually don't talk to my marks unless they start talking to me.
I move a bit further from the house to a town nearby and send a couple of seekers after him and from the waypoints I can see he has come out, but when he sees me coming he runs back inside, send me a tell "do you think I'm stupid?". After this he logs out and I go do other things in the meanwhile but he keeps sending me tells with his alt so I let him think I'm still stalking him.
Later he logs back in and I go check him out but it looks like he's still inside. After this mission has been going for about 5-6 hours he makes me an offer: he pays me his bounty and gives me a fight as long as I won't death blow him. I accept the offer but only because I know this is the only way to make him come outside.
So I do what most of us would probably do, I fight and death blow him anyway, despite the deal we made. His friends say they are writing tickets to csr and get me banned for doing this. As they claim, someone else got perma banned for doing the same for 3 hours....so should I be worried?
What I understand the "crime" here was that I was "camping" my mark and made a deal but broke it. I think he was pretty naive to beleive a BH whos holding his mission will not death blow if given change to do so. And I felt I had deserved right to complete my job after doing same mission for 6 hours.
His friends also said that no other BH would agree with me on this (that its OK to do this), so just thought I'd see if this is correct. So what do you guys think?

If you are Worried about being Ban'd or whatever, then i would suggest you pay him back the credits that he pay'd you not to db him, that way you have not de-frauded him, and only have trick'd him into a fight for you to collect your payment.

the rules posted by some1 here, clearly state that "Roleplaying" is not an excuse to fraud some1 of their credits, which going by your post you have done.

but i doubt you would get ban'd anyway, more than likely just warned

Good Job! First let me say that I am a full template Jedi andI do not think there's anything wrong with what you did. People as stupid as this, jedi or not, should be killed (in game of course). As a grinding padawan, wenever I did get a BH I never ran. Using force run as a tactic is different however, ie. using fr1 and /follow a ranged attacker. How are you supposed to learn how to use your template if you never PvP? i say contimue to do the fantastic job weeding these weaker ones from the gene pool. If the grind is too much to keep up with they will quit or leave game for awhile trust me I have seen it often. As an avid PvP'er it is a real pain to see people misuse Jedi, or any template for that matter, when u are relying on them as a teammate in PvP. I have always viewed BH fighting to be just asinstrumental to a jedi's training as much as grinding any of the skills. I for one will always respect any player, BH or no who has the testicular fortitude to stand and fight. As for the multiple BH thing, I fully embrace it. If they're 2 guys who have been doing it for awhile it can be a real chalenge and tons of fun. 3 or more isjust a thank-you for my lesson and the quick trip to the cloner. Respec'd guys are fun too cause its always fun to beat a mob of people intent on killing you. The only BH death i cant stand is the LD ones, to which i have only suffered once. Its not the xp loss or even the loss itself that i dont like, its the lack of a chance to fight. Anyways rant off for me and /salute for the nice work guys keep it up and hit thosetrails!

Trade fraud ? Coming from a Jedi ?? HA !
How many of you right here told some Krayt or Crystal seller their stuff was just " good or OK " after ID'ing it and finding it was actually excellent, just to pay a lesser fee ??

That's not a fraud. A seller has the duty to tell the buyer what he is buying, but the buyer has no duty to tell the seller what he is selling.

he entered into a verbal contract with another player, accepted payment, and then broke the contract. that is trade fraud.

When is a bh a proffession that is active in trade? The jedi himself bribed the bh to not kill him. So there really is no service being given. Thats like slipping a door man a 20. Sometimes it works, sometimes he just takes the money and your stuck outside.

Basically from a CSR's standpoint its more of a judgement call. There is alot of gray area when it comes to Jedi/BH situations.

It all boils down to CSR's being unable (thankfully)to enforce "rules" for PvP. The Jedi didn't enter into trade to conduct business, he entered into player vs. player combat - and has to deal with the consequences, regardless of any conditions to any bribes.

Every BH is different and runs by his or her own set of rules and morals. Personally, if I were you and he had given me the money, I would have taken it, dropped his mission and left.

BUT THAT IS JUST ME.

You also said you were waiting for, what, 6 hours? That is a long time and might make my rules of engagement....alter slightly.

You also have to understand. The Jedi that you are hunting is another person, a real human being sitting infront of a computer monitor trying to have fun with this game...Just like you.

Still, in all matters of Roleplaying, if a BH was a 'down & dirty' kind of player this would be deemed fine by my book.

I am a Jedi and a BH, I've killed a few Jedi, and a few BH's have killed me. (Until I found that Master Rifleman could take out any BH I came across. However, I have confidence that Startleshot and Disarm Shot will get nerfed).

Keep the creds he was a fool to try and bribe a BH. Your supposed to be scum, he's a jedi, he's supposed to be honorable. So who better represented the ideals of their profession? You or the jedi whowouldnt fight for fear of losing? And remember, as a BHno matter how you play it, jedi will always hate you, its a fact of the prof.
