Ok you guys arent hearing me.
Thats good and all but why do the jedi have to see you??
If you HAVE to be so close to a jedi to where they see you, pick up rifles for cover, or better yet invest some points in the cover line.
I try really really hard to not let jedi see me so I have the element of surprise. If you are standing close to them hunting krayts, im pretty damn sure they are gonna examine you and see see " Has mastered the bounty hunter profession. "
Amen brother,
You have to be in visual range for a Jedi to get a /duel on you. If you've been spotted at that range, then sorry sparky, you've already lost the element of suprise. Yes, I can understand the frustration if you are trying to play it cool, blend in (also meaning not wearing your MBH or Combat Medic tag) so you can catch your mark unwares. But it takes more skill than that. I see so many dumb mistakes by BHs. You walk around in RIS or COMP. You carry a scatter pistol or LLC. You actually WEAR YOUR TAG....DUH. You don't make your character non-searchable. Believe me when I tell you all this. If a Jedi has targeted you for a duel, he knew you were a BH to begin with. The trick is to slip in and not have them do this. At least right now, you have some "grading system" to test your sneakiness. Call it a pass/fail. If you can slip up to attack range to a Jedi and he doesn't /duel you, you're doing it properly. If he does... *buzz... you're out, you messed up somewhere.
Stop trying to dumb down the game and smarten your play-style instead.
Aren't you smart....
*Droid tells you that your mark is on dantooine*
So you shuttle to the Mining Outpost, while your loading your jedi is sitting right next to the load zone getting buffed, he notices you and uses the /duel, /endduel macro.
Jedi: Wow I can't duel him, it's my attacker. I don't have time to fight.
*Jedi launches up into space and logs off* or *Jedi cloaks and follows you around*
This happens all the time, I load in notice I have about 5-6 duels challenged and ended, and my mark is gone. Jedi shouldn't have any idea of knowing who their attacker is, It ruins it for everyone.

most use a radar range of 128m, 256m just doesnt update fast enough. many bhs have surprised me and although im not paranoid checking the radarevery sec, i have been surprised in secluded places, from lok to tatooine. so if you stay at least more than 200m from most targets they wont notice you. also once you get their name you can just do /ex (name) from that range and observe what they are doing. im not sure if you can /tar from that range to know what their ham looks like but you can /ex if you wanna spy.
you also cannot get a lock on them without coming much closer than that...yeah you can get the lock and drive off again but by then they've seen you
not a BH, am a jedi,(stop flamin im not here to troll) i belive this needs to be fixed as soon as possible but along with it i think they need to fix you bein able to /duel while under stasis. lets hope there are put to the top.

yes, I agree. /dueling to break stasis is more game breaking than what the BH's are whining about.
i just saw ep 2 again.
one thing is true, bh didnt hunt jedi, jedi hunted bh s, and when jedi dueled bh s, the bh s were decapitated in one hit.
i have the mace jango scene on reel mode, its the truth, and it looke like it hurt jango alot.
obi even kicked jango s arse without a saber ROFL. obi gave him the kung fu kick lol. jango was nothing more then a meatbag for jedi to whip up on, and boy did they ever.
when obi went to jango s "apartment" i thought jango was going to wet himself right there.
Your logic only works if the Jedi is standing around alone in the wilderness. In practical use most of the time there will be 10-15 standing around Theed. What should really happen is all of them should be concerned that one amongst them might be attacked when a bounty hunter shows up. As it is now, they all do /duel exploit and then the one who the BH has the mission will be the only one getting battle ready while the other continue to go abouts their business acting like monkeys with sabers dueling each other. It should be that when a BH shows up ALL the Jedi will fear him, not just the one who has his mission.

Perhaps your definition of exploit is skewed. Using a "kn own" bug for your advantage when you know its a "bug" is guess what? Its called "Exploit", and it is a bannable offense in my opinion of you /duel on a known BH knowing that if they have your mission they will turn red. Now I know that /duel is used in the game for people to "duel" each other but 90% of the time there is some type of correspondence between the two players before the /duel is even issued. Like " hey man you want to duel?" other guy is like "yea I am leetfully uberz yo lolz k /dule kthnxbye"
Ummm, they dont turn red. 'sides i've only used this once after group was harrassed by several BH. Turned out he was after me and even tho I was unprepared (no buffs) when he finally did start the fight, I sent him to the cloner. Think I posted about that enconter somewhere here. Oh yea, jedi forum under 'stupid BH stories' thread or something like that.
as for /duel: Not really. Occasionally as i'm running thru somewhere I get a random /duel request. Granted the majority of the time its at a starport or player city but it has happened out in the wilds while I was questing or whatnot.
Oh yea, /findFriend is supposed and intended to be used to find a friend, not a Jedi mark. Is that an exploit? after all the BH using /findFriend is not using it for its intended purpose. Can care less either way.
You also say the the guy needs to find a new profession if he gets so close to his mark that they can see him. Have you hunted many Jedi? I seriously doubt it. If you did you would know that you have to be within 80 meters of someone usually for them to become visible on your screen if they are in a hunting group. You may ask why would you want to see them? Well wouldn't it be great to see how much health they had? See how many MOBs were on them....... see what I am saying? Half the time you get don't get a name back from the droid so you don't even know who your mark is until you tab over them.
My main char is not a BH. Let me say this, of the last 11 BH that hunted me I did not do a /duel (like I said before I used it once and consider it cheesy not an exploit). I was not buffed and did not have a macro running. I saw them comming and figured they were after me or another jedi. Of those 11: 1 I ran from (was low on force and previously ate a holocron), 2 I was killed after draining my force twice and the fights lasted pretty long (might have won the second but made a tactical error). as for the remaining 8, I sent them to the cloners. Not too bad considering I took a 14 month break from the game and still learning how to PvP (SWG is the only MMO i've played where i've actually participated in PvP)
Understand its not a recommended game practice and it is a bug and if you use it is an exploit. Look up the definition exploit and apply it here and if you still say he sucks and needs to be a dancer instead, then there really isn't any reasoning with you. I suspect your a Jedi anyway and share the same dogmatic views as the rest of sheep that some how continually pour out of the dathomir village.
Dogmatic views? sheep? you do realize this is a game right?
As for your view, report the jedi using it and see what happens.
Report it and let us know what the reply ticket says.
My guess is that even if a Jedi gets 100 report tickets on them nothing will happen. Not because they are jedi but because the devs don't consider it an exploit, least not a bannable/suspension one.
Oh yea, the glowstick under my board name should clue you in as to what char I play the most
As I previously stated "skewed"
Sooo,...
Report them.
If Jedi using /duel has your panties all in a bunch, report them. If it really is an exploit like you say then action will be taken.
So instead of whining and crying about it, Report it!
Pretty simple really

So surprise is supposed to make us equal to a full temp jedi....now with a simple /duel that is taken away....it's game breaking for us really. We have to run in guns blazing to get the drop on a jedi and we cannot study them at all or wait for the right moment. They always know now. Bounty hunters are not rush in and attack guys they are hunters....do you wave to a deer and get it's attention before you shoot it?Do we need to do what the jedi do whenever something isn't going there way and just threaten to cancel to get anything changed? You know I don't mind losing, I don't mind fighting an opponent that is superior in everyway but for the devs to actually say "this makes you equal" and then not fix something that makes us "not equal" is just another slap in the face towards the non-jedi population. We also need to treat those that use this exploit as what they are....exploiters.
No offense but you should be out studying the Bounties before you accept the missions. Use your /notepad to make notes of people.
when we had names on terms we could do that, however now that names are removed adn only 3 days per mission we cant just look at everyone we have to be carful for at hte max 2 days so we can observe our mark and we coudl be very hidden, no armor, no buffies, no weapon or maybe a low level pistol in hand, no mbh title or any bounty hunter tile for that matter, we could never directly look at our mark in a crowded city but instead act out nornaly go to bazzar, go in vendors watch entertainers. with a single command to a jedi , who most likley has a macro and does it to everyone , then you are screwed. and that is not ok
sorry for grammar but english is a second language

its just no fun if you run straight up to the jedi. I love to use cover up and crawl up to them wait to the right moment bang bang dead. the mcm bounty hunters just anoy me.
Its fun for me to run up and kill them. I love it, the more dead jedi the more cash I have.

As I previously stated "skewed"
If you know Jedi are at the MO, port in elsewhere. Imp outpost, Agro OP, anywhere that will allow you an opportunity to sneak up. The goal is not to get to the jedi as fast as possible, but to simply know where he is. If he's at the MO, he won't be there long. He's in a grinding group and will soon be in the wilderness. My suggestion is to port into the Imp OP and launch a seeker. YOur initial return will likely be the MO. Shuttle to a nearby city and continue to track him until low and behold, he's 1200 meters out from the MO and then you pick your time to strike.
