Jedi got nerfs. BHs dont. The only change is you need a master badge to hunt jedi
The removal of names is good too. It should be a 1 vs 1 fight. and a fight both sides have good chances of winning. it should not be so that just because you have the right to hunt jedi should win most of the time! Thats one of the reasons for the bad blood between our professions!
I hope this will stimulate people to be master in their profession they have so dear!
Those are very good coments, but I seriously dont think its going to work that way...
I see these changes drasticly cutting down the number of BH's hunting Jedi, while increasing the ever growing population of Jedi. The Jedi already have it far too easy especially with Kashyyk. With the number of BH's about to seriously dwindle, it is going to make AFK grinding on Kashyyk even easier. Just that many fewer 10 meter runs to the LoS Bridge.
Although changing the system so that only MBH can hunt Jedi may sound like a good idea, Im betting its going to hurt the system far more than its going to help.
Bounty Hunters are not meant to be a Population control for Jedi. It was a huge mistake the Devs made for this game a long time ago. with perma-Death! SOE should really have a better way of limiting jedi - if thats what they want - then allowing a profession to freely hunt jedi at whim! BHs have been spoiled deluxe so far! I know! I am BH! its way to easy to kill a low-level jedi! Theres not even a challenge!
These changes are required! Required for the playability of this game!

SP requirements don't have jack to do with anything I'm talking about because quite frankly there aren't balance issues with melee BH's that I'm even remotely aware of. I tried to point that out with a grand picture in my last post. I reiterated that there are no balance issues at all that persuaded the devs to change the requirement. What don't you understand? My main point is that there are no "balance issues" that are so important to warrant a radical change like this. MBH/MR/CM 4000 is by far more effective than a melee template IMO because melee can be kited by Jedi via saberthrow, roots, snares, etc.
Secondly, MBH's were included in the last FRS, and that is why i think they might be in the next. Remember Jedi gaining FRS points from killing MBH's?

Could you name a few? I am seriously curious. I don't think of many templates are more powerful than a MBH/MR/CM 4000. Not a flame, just pure curiousity.

While the change would nerf some ranged templates some consider to be overpowered, it would nerfall melee bounty hunter templates.
A melee bounty hunter's disadvantage compared to a ranged one is that they must fight within range of all the Jedi's attacks in order to hit the Jedi with their own attacks. Their ability to stand toe to toe fighting the Jedi is reliant upon their ability to heal. I have found that you need at least 4000 CM to be an effective melee bounty hunter in the current system.
If this change goes through, it would mean that it would no longer be possible to fit in even Novice Combat Medic with a master melee profession. It is not possible to survive on stims and ruby bliel alone as a melee bounty hunter. I've done extensive testing with and without healing abilities. Bottom line is, you need healing skills to be a melee bounty hunter.
I've had a Knight myself for a long time now, but lately my favorite content in the game has been what my melee bounty hunter allows me to do. I know I am in the minority, but I really enjoy being a meleefighter even in this world of ranged fighters. I really like hunting player Jedi, but I like being a Fencer more. This change forces me to pick one or the other, since it would no longer be viable to be both.
This change would effectively ruin what I have enjoyed most about this game lately. I'm also nearly certain they won't provide us a respec even though they're ruining so many of our templates. Devs, if you want to move player bounties up, move them to Investigation IV. Please reconsider and save the melee BH.
