In-character: For the money.

Out-of-character: Because I like the idea of playing a BH/Smuggler that uses the war for personal profit.

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Two years of "Soon"(TM), a harsh bunch of lies.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie"

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Dancers can't smuggle and neither can I.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Why are there Jedi, I don't know why.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

I hunt for credits.
I don't do it to be mean.
I don't do it because I don't like you.
You are a numerical figure in my bank account.
Nothing less, nothing more.
It's nothing personal, just business.

yup.

I don't know if other people do this, but I'm playing it as a game that extends beyond the immediate mission. I take the mission. I find the jedi. I stalk him non-chalantly (only once has the jedi actually noticed I was stalking him). I never go in for the kill immediately. I study my prey from a distance, wait till they are in a public place before I come in close. Learn their strengths, weaknesses, habits, and friends. Then I may or may not go in for the kill. If it looks like I'm not ready (i'm still a low level combatant, 'cause I did investigation first), I drop the mission at that point and take another. But I do take notes. I'm beginning to learn which jedi's play with whom, where they live, which arrogantly show off their force powers in public, which are more cautious, etc.

I'm a jedi hunter. But to be good at hunting my prey, I need to study it first.

One of my favorite games ever is the Thief series. Stalking and hunting jedi makes me feel like I am playing Thief again, but in a Star Wars setting. What could be more fun than that? /evilgrin

I do it for the challenge. its harder and a much more fun challenge to hunt jedi. some jedi i DB and some i just leave incap. it depeds on their personality and their actions. I have many jedo friends so i knwo what it is like to loose the xp. but if the jedi are jerks who think they are the best in all the galaxy..then i kill them

You forgot to mention the subsequent rush you get when you approach that jedi and realize you lost your TEF.

I hunt jedi because it is the only unique content in this game I enjoy. If I didn't have jedi missions to do I would probably be a melee stacker or whatever profession at the time is good at pvping/soloing corvette and become an overt reb killing imps all day but thats pretty run of the mill stuff to me, not something very unique to a mmorpg. Or maybe even become a jedi myself?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

how long does it take for jedi to get xp? whats the rate like compared to 5k/kill for normal profs?

It's based on jedi difficulty. High end mobs [vexed voritors]usually cap ~ 950xp per kill. So figure about 150k-200k per 3 hour buff session...

5*

THATS how you play the game. Not walking around "pwning" people. Do it for the rush, it's star wars people, there is PLENTY of "Star Warsy" feelings in the game, just gotta look for them, and make em count.

Soon as I master rifleman, I'll be hitting the pretty looking ATM machines as well. For THIS reason, I Like the rush.....GCW might be dead, but this is even better.

What's better then killing 1 jedi, killing 2.....Now a days jedi aren't alone, they come in packs now. Gather a bunch of friends (All BH of course) and go for the KILL, not for the popularity, or for the sheer "pwnage". Go because it's what the Proffesion was Designed for.

If the Jedi Complain, quote what another poster said:

"Shouldn't be showing off for your friends so much."

That'll teach them Jedi how to enjoy the game.

Play both BH and Jedi and Yes it's night and day - very fun to BH and just an arce hole dark place for jedi ( which I wish I had the option to get my skill points back from for I can place more harvesters and do some armor ).

Got a rush that's better than that: When you predict where your mark will head, and the seeker keeps sending you updates that keep getting closer... and closer... and closer...

THAT gets MY pulse going.

I would like to know , why Bounty Hunters like to hunt jedi.

I do not hunt Jedi , because I do not like PVP ( had my fill playing another game )
Plus PVP brings out the worst in players.
I know that the money is good, but there has to be other reasons also.

Plain and simple for the challenge. The NPC's are hardly a challenge. Just would be nice if they added other professions or any rebel, since the Empire is in control.
