No, I'm not kidding. Every contract has to have a time clause. If you don't stipulate the time limit of the contract then you are free to interpret it as best benefits you.

This is a false statement of law. Contracts of indefinite duration are enforceable. Furthermore, a party to a bilateral contract does not get to decide unilaterally how to "interpret" the contract's duration.

Good Job Viski. You will not be banned. Anyone who tells you diffent is just syaing it to get you all bothered and scared. Jedi's most likely speaking from anger.

Don'r fret son, you did a good job.

The jedi-trolls are just giving you a hard time. IMO, there's no ground for disciplinary action here. If you'd soliciteda bribe just to cheat him out of credits, that would be something else... but the JEDI offeredYOU a BRIBE.

There's a difference. Both from an RP perspective and a "community standards" perspective.

The jedi would probably need to have saved the chat logs.

Besides what says he didn't want to try and take you down, kill you, then get himself lost again? The most you would be liable for if they decided to *reprimand ya* is take back some money, but he did bribe you and you are a BH. as case goes it's up to you to decide if the target is worth the effort and time you put in. Sometimes you ahve to go to extreme measures to get the job done. Besides you didn't clear out his inventory and take all his XP away. It was more of a lesson in being a Jedi.

If they don't have evidence they can't ban you.

If they do have evidence, they'll think about it, and probably think hard. They have to grant *some* freedom from the rules if they want more paid months from ya... to that end I have witnesses more than 50 Jedi (some of which were actually Jedi groupies, and not Jedi yet themselves) breaking codes of conduct yet none have been banned.

Personally, I take the path of least resistance. If he offered me money I would refuse and keep camping. If he offered it to me, but gave it to me without me giving a single word of acceptance on the deal, heck I'd keep it and kill him. Really it's whatever you decide. There are few things that SOE would dare take someone to court over though - due to lost money and excess fear of customers (who wants to play a game by people who sue players- and quite possiblywith insufficient evidence, not to mention the fact that they don't know the circumstances of each event and so don't understand how to rate the offense...), so all in all it depends on what you're willing to risk as far as your account standing with SOE.

Hmmm, tough call...

First of all: I think it is stupid to pay the BH to drop your mission. Even if he/she drops it the Jedi will still be on terms. lol, the next BH could come 3 minutes later. XP gone, credits gone...

Quoting response from CSRs from other cases here doesnt really fit. Every case is different. For example: Player A wants to duel Player B. They agree not to DB. Player A does it anyways. Bannable? Nope, I dont think so. Nice? Nope, I am sure about that hehe. But this example doesnt match this case.

OK, what I think:

Jedi-Side

This Jedi didnt really think about it. 1st fault (as I already said)was the "bribe". But well, he did. 2nd fault: He didnt wait for the challenge. As long as the BH has his/her mission: No duel! So, unless you see "Player xy has challenged you to a duel" there is no proof that he/she dropped the mission! Hello? One of the biggest BH/Jediissues atm? Hellooooo?

BH-Side

Well, hmmm. It has its funny side. Kind of, I think. Especially if you have a look at the Jedi-Side...

But you cannot hide behind RP here imho. RP ends with /tell and as soon a "real" deal is involved (You can still RP a trade, but cant hide behind it for a fraud, unless it was all part of a event and the player get there money back or never payed anything in the first place). A smuggler will get banned for fraud if he keeps thecredits and the armor/weapon of a customer who was stupid enough to give him/her both. Those rules are there to protect people that didnt really think and/or are victim of a bug/exploit. There is no way the Smuggler could hide behind RP. If this was possible: Welcome to Fraud Wars Online.

This Case

Looks like it depends on the CSR.

Little hint: Tip him back next time (This would be like: Ops, I sold the item to somebody else, here is your money back)
