Thread: Why do BH's only hunt padawans

heh Somehow I knew to avoid the point someone would pull out the politics card.
You didn't make much of a point to address. If you didn't want a political response, then you shouldn't of made an asinine political argument in an attempt at sarcasm when your sarcastic point is cleary something happening in current events. Tip: Sarcasm works best when it clearly cannot be construed as the truth. Anyhow, if you really want me to address your nonsensical point in the other part of your post ...
You believe it is griefing to cause a player who explicitly consented to the possibility that he might lose XP, to lose XP. I do not. No Jedi should feel miserable about losing XP since he explicitly said I could hunt him. You make very broad assumptions about me implying that I hunt Jedi to make them miserable. I do not. I hunt them so that they could lose XP. These are completely different things. All the Jedi I have hunted and killed have explicitly given me permission to cause them XP loss.
One could make an argument that your motives for hunting Jedi is griefing using your logic. You say you hunt them for the challenge. But who says that the Jedi wants you to hunt them. Who says the Jedi wants to be your plaything. What if you attack and kill a Jedi which causes him to lose 45 minutes of grinding time plus the XP loss from a death to you -- which could easily add up to over600,000+ Jedi XP. You are, in effect, forcing a Jedi to do something that he does not want to do, causing him to be miserable, all because you decided that you wanted to toy with the Jedi for a "challenge" (Using your logic).
Of course, I do not look down on your playstyle or how decide to play the game. It's a shame that you cannot show others the same courtesy.
Someone who is trying to ring in politics to justify their ability to cause players grief in this game doesn't get to tell me about "weak" or "failing" arguements.

Oh no, I never said you did. I said, however, that I have a problem with bounty hunters who use this system to cause these kinds of miserable paints to Jedi.
I do not. I hunt them so that they could lose XP. These are completely different things.
And this is griefing, there's no two ways about it. You hunt someone for the sole purpose of negatively affecting their game play.

SOE put in a monetary reward for hunting Jedi. Anywhere from 30,000 credits to at the moment 226,000 credits. That was the incentive to hunt Jedi, not for us to be the Jedi balancing squad. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and childish.

It all depends on intent. I don't kill Jedi with the intent to cause them dissatisfaction. I kill them and I get paid, same reason I kill Krayt Dragons, I kill it, I get a pearl, I get money.
Many times it's for the sport, many times it's for the money, it doesn't matter, but it's certainly not to specifically cause harm to a Jedi's gameplay.

That's because my playstyle isn't dependent on causing distress to other players. I get that luxuary.
oh, and by the way, dont even start with that " you choose a profession that that you knew would be hunted" crap, cause that dont fly with me...
How can that not 'fly with you' ? Its the simple truth. If you didn't want to be hunted you would solo or play a prof that isn't hunted. Your argument is all brought down by the above line since its complete crap. The only bad atmosphere causedon a grand scale between BH and Jedi (forget because the odd BH or odd Jedi gives you the "pwnt nub" after a kill)is because Jedi feel that they have a right to not be hunted anymore. Wake up! lol. Its like an ASsaying :
"I don't think that I should be able to make anything other than the highest quality armour. Don't tell me that I will have to get the best resources to do it because that don't fly with me."

Unless I'm mistaken isn't it the job of bounty hunters ot keep the jedi population under control through xp loss.
In that case, I think someone needs to inform you that you failed that job, failed miserably, and deserve to be fired cuz ya failed so bad.

Im a jedi and i have a bounty hunter, why do most bounty hunters only hunt padawans. On my jedi, i never get hunted, but when i grind i see padawans getting hunted all the time. On my BH, i only hunt knights, and bout 45% of the time i can manage a win. My guns arent legendary or anything, i just know wha to do. Why do all the other BH's not hunt knights?
Becuase there are no knights on the terms, because the frs has been turned off.

I mainly hunt jedi from 140K to 224K (non-knight) simply because a Knight no longer has anything to lose in terms of XP. I may hunt a Knight in a group just for the fun of it, however solo hunting Knight's kind of take the fun out of it for me. I want to see that XP loss. As a jedi myself, I could care less if someone kills me when I'm a Knight but it gets me fired up to die before that and have to regrind for the xp,,,,as it does most paddys.
'Eternal (Corbantis)
This pretty much sums up the entire BH profession: Grief player who are people hating cowards that need to boost their frail egos by spoiling other people's games.
How is it greifing when SOE said that is what is supposed to be done. Do not blam the BH's for the Devs decisions. Just like the Jedi running and hiding in a house after a TEF and usuing LOS. Which both are not intended but the BH are wrong for killing Paddy's, which is intended? When you chose to be a jedi you chose to be hunted when you have visibility. Now, if most BH's want or need to hunt Paddy's for what ever reason, then so what. We can not do anything about a full template Jedi but we can keep their numbers down by slowing a paddy's progress. Personally I do not hunt them, hell I do not hunt often at all. I have never lost a fight to a jedi in a hunt. I have hunted a 30K, 100K, and 3 140K-170K and did not lose one fight. I can not defest a full template Jedi alone or atleast have not in duels. I also do not see the need in hunting them as all it does is give me money if I win. Now a Jedi that is still grinding gives me a shorter fight, a little less money, and knocks them back a few days. I can hunt more in less time, which means more money for me. I also do the Empire a service by slowing a Paddy's progress.

Sadly, some of us Dark jedi don't consider ourselves jedi at all. I do not run around towns with padawan robes and flashing my lightsaber whenever i can. You'd be lucky if you can even see me becouse i'm almost always cloaked.
Sadly tho.. The bounty hunter forms and the galactic civil war forums, are turning you people into witch hunters and sound alot like kkk members. Basicly thats all you are now. You feel your doing your job but the ammount of real hate you guys generate in real life towards the people who play jedi.. is just said.. really sad guys. Dev's did a very good job in seperating the community. Also the reason why jedi has become so watered down is becouse we are far weaker then we once was. jedi for most of it's life now are far weaker then normal professions and when a jedi reaches full template they are basicly on par with every profession in the game now.
You guys don't need to believe me, but last rumor i heard was SOE wants to remove jedi all together. I'm sure you guys are happy about it.

You call them padawans i call them paychecks
knights are worth more
Are they? I mean I've tried almost 50 times to kill a knight solo but they are ready for pvp 24/7 and defense stack more than a solid brick.
On the other hand I have (with much effort and patience) been able to solo 203-215kers and the payout is a mere 10k lower for a much easier job.

If that was true they'd lose 10% of their subscribers in an instant. But it would make me happy.
