Well I hate to sound likea Star Wars geek, but if " anyone " can use a LS to cut a door open, then why didn't Luke use his to cut through the door when they were stuck in the famouse " trash smasher " scene ??

Or in Episode II, why did Anakin an Obi Wan appear to be physically straining and having to use force powers to cut through the heavy blast door in the opening scene ?? Actuallythey weren't cutting, more like melting.

Not to nitpick.. but it begs the question. Does the weapon make the man, or vice versa ?

You took what I said out of context ofcourse. Alot of the " abilities " you listed for the Lightsaber are soley dependet on its users grasp of the " force ". If Han Solo or some random non Jedi charachter picked up the Lightsaber, I seriously doubt he would be blocking blaster bolts and slicing through blast doors.

Seriously, how else do you explain how NOBODY ever carries a Lightsaber unless they are Jedi in the SWG universe ?? Not even polearms or sword masters who are skilled at using blades. Why ??? And don't give me that " its an ancient " weapon everyone likes blasters crap. If it could really cut through just about anything , at all times, people would carry them arround just because. For whatever reason.

Some Jedi are more " strong " in the " force " then others. This is what determines how " powerfull " they are at using a Lightsaber.

In a game enviroment like SWG, that simply won't do for balance reasons. Rifleman, being a long range profession, should almost always have the advantage over a Jedi. Whos basically a sword weilding charachter.

OMG i never thought I woudl say this but you are acctully getting more stupid with each post.

Well lets see why doesnt everyoen carry a LS, well for starters teh Crystals used to make them would not be avail to everyone since a majority of them came from a cave that was at one time guarded by Jedi.

Second why woudl people carry LS when they know that the Empire hunts down Jedi, why would anyone bring that extra attention down to themselves from teh empire if not needed.

and finally if you were nota Jedi how the hell would you know how to make one, only Jedi were tought how to make them and part of their training is to make their own LS. If you remember in ROTJ when Luke gave himself up and Darth looked at his New green LS and said, You have crafted your own LS your training is now complete.

Your posts are starting to make good sense, congratulations.

Your a very smart person if you don't insist on Perma-Death, I mean if jedi get it again, why shouldnt the other profession?

Also, its a good thing to be a starwars geek, haha.

Why not make the jedi profession ment to be temporarily only?

So every characrter that unlocks can stay jedi and grind the skills until he/she gets DBd by some other player (BH or overt opposite faction jedi). When the jedi gets DBd he looses the jedi unlock and becomes a regular character again. You wont actually loose your items, house, speeders, mounts etc, only your jedi skills. The character may do a new skill respec to regualr skills when DBd. After that the jedi slot can't be reopened again with that character.

This is to be working with a server cap on jedi population, so there can never be too many jedis around. I'd say 10 light and 10 dark jedis would be fine. And when any of them gets DBd (or the account is unused for a long time) some other player gets to unlock jedi.

This way all gaming comminity has the chance of playing jedi without risking to loose thier characters and without overpopulating jedi and unbalancing the game.

What do you think?

One of the most unrealistic (I am being kind )suggestions I ever heard. You can't expect people to spend months to get and level their Jedi and then lose it all.

Plus, think about it. Who are you going to hunt?

Dude...you are an idiot. That is a terrible and a stupid idea. So out of the thousands of people that play on the servers, you want to allow *10* light and 10 dark?!!?!? 20 LUCKY people get to keep jedi? Thank god you're not a dev. Do you have any idea what it takes to jedi? And now you want to make it so if you get DBed you go back to your reg character??!?
