I will say why it is the ultimate in bad ideas.
As it is now, we have a pile of hatred betweeen our two professions stacked a mile high, and it is all traced down to one aspect: XP. We Jedi desperately crave it like it's a rare commodity (and it is) and BH's love to take it away.
When a BH kills me, I hold no grudges...but when a BH kills me and does the happy dance, laughing about how he PWNed a n00b like me, then I get highly irritated. Because he is dancing around laughing at the fact that he just ripped away a mssive amount of my grind. And there I am, not hating him for the XP loss, but for his attitude towards the result of that loss.
Now, that is a little bit compared to perma-death. The ability to whipe one players character clean does NOT belong in the hands of other players. There is not enough responsibility for it. If I spent months grinding my character, and along come a group of BH's and clean my chararcter slate back to noob status, I guarantee you, they're gonna hoop and hollar like a bunch o' Rednecks who just shot their first squirrel. You can believe, that hatred I would feel then would be MANY times over the hatred towards one dancing about my xp loss.
And more over, can you imagine the griefing this will lead to? You will get guilds together to protect their Jedi by sending their own BH's out to kill the opposing faction Jedi... and when both sides start doing this, screw the GCW, it will be galaxy wide guild-war hate-fests!
The fate of my character that I've played for the last 19 months should not be in the hands of some other player. If my character gets wiped, it should be by the Devs or CSR's because I did something to utterly dispicable to deserve it. I should not have all the skills I worked so hard to attain taken from me JUST for the sole enjoyment of another player or group of players. That amount of power over another player's game does NOT belong in your hands, and trust me, you WON'T feel that power in your grip...not in this game....not EVER.

I have a suggestion....
Why not make the jedi profession ment to be temporarily only?
So every characrter that unlocks can stay jedi and grind the skills until he/she gets DBd by some other player (BH or overt opposite faction jedi). When the jedi gets DBd he looses the jedi unlock and becomes a regular character again. You wont actually loose your items, house, speeders, mounts etc, only your jedi skills. The character may do a new skill respec to regualr skills when DBd. After that the jedi slot can't be reopened again with that character.
This is to be working with a server cap on jedi population, so there can never be too many jedis around. I'd say 10 light and 10 dark jedis would be fine. And when any of them gets DBd (or the account is unused for a long time) some other player gets to unlock jedi.
This way all gaming comminity has the chance of playing jedi without risking to loose thier characters and without overpopulating jedi and unbalancing the game.
What do you think?
One of the most unrealistic (I am being kind
) suggestions I ever heard. You can't expect people to spend months to get and level their Jedi and then lose it all.
Plus, think about it. Who are you going to hunt?
Well then, the only people in this thread with sense just got higher
Me,
Warryyr,
Tanks
Anyone else wanna join the club?
What about me?
