I only trash talk while the Jedi is running.

Other than that i just drive off when the jedi is dead. If i die, i send a tell /bow good fight. Unless the jedi talks crap. then its all out. Surprised im not banned yet.

So far the worst thing i found, call a jedi is a respec jedi. Really sets them off.

The thing is I don't win against Jedi all the time; as a matter of fact I expect to lose maybe 2-3/5 fights each time. But that is MY CONTENT. I hunt for the fun of the hunt, and those 2-3 Jedi I beat in the process are worth it for the fun. I don't do it for the sake of taking away XP, that's plain mean; I do it for the experience of hunting another live player. I would hunt Smugglers just as ruthlesslyif they made that content. The truth of it is, Jedi get the Village and the Trials as content and they are GREATLY rewarded at the end. But there have to be serious drawbacks to being a Jedi. And I don't just mean being hunted, I mean being hunted for actual fear of being killed.

The hate between the two professions is something that needs to be adressed.

One thing to remember is that this goes both ways also...PreCU I had alot of trash-typing BHs who used to spam tells when I beat them...I'm just honourable enough to find what I was worth on terms and say "good mark" and go back to grinding when I get beat

Are you? Really? You don't want people to be mean to you. What would you consider mean? I consider mean to be someone attempting to cause me to lose several hundred thousand Jedi XP. I'm a married father of 3 with 2 jobs and 9 hours of lecture in a Master Program. I have very little time to play, and I happen to consider it extremely rude for someone to attempt to try to wipe out all of the progress I may have made in the precious few hours I get to play any game at all.

Maybe that doesn't fit your definition of mean, but the last time I checked, most civilized places in the world don't begrudge you a few choice words you may have for an assailant. Maybe if you came up, took a few shots, dropped the mission and said "Hey, I dropped it, duel now for cash" you'd get a fair fight and someone that will show you a little respect. Otherwise, don't expect it, you haven't earned it.

It's not mean because you knew that was the case before you became a jedi and you accepted that. You understand the risks of being a jedi and the fact that SOE is trying to keep our population in balance to a slight degree.

I cant speak for you but I know quiet a few people personally in game who don't care about being hunted but once they get jedi they whine and complain about it, because it's happening to them..Get over it, it's a part of the game.

I have to agree totally with CPA. It IS mean to wipe out someone's hard work, because you believe it's your "job" to do so. It is a game mechanic, and something every Jedi has to live with. But contrary to what every BH out there thinks, including BoyOfLight and the OP and evidently lots of other Jedi, Jedi DO NOT HAVE TO LIKE IT. Living with it and liking it are two different things. So many people say 'you knew the risks, stop complaining'. To those people I say, who are you to control what anyone else should think or say? It is mean, it is cruel, it is flat out griefing to willingly and knowingly inhibit another's progress, no matter how you look at it. But again, having said that, it IS a game mechanic, and one that too many people complain about seemingly without realizing that there are very, very easy workarounds.

Don't get visibility. Period. Hide your ass from everyone. XP in the dark, in the corner of nowhere, against creatures, if you can't afford to be killed by a BH. Put your equipment away if a non-group member approaches, if you can't afford to be killed by a BH. Stop doing quests that involve NPCs, if you can't afford to be killed by a BH. Does it take longer to XP? Of course. But you a) bypass the problem of visibility, which automatically bypasses the problem of trash-talking or XP-stealing BHs; b) play into the real role of a Jedi in this timeline, which is to be hidden; and c) follow the intended path the devs set out, which is slow progress for Jedi. If enough people did all those thigs, maybe the devs would eventually give Jedi back some semblance of the power and mystery they had pre-publish 9.

You hit the nail on the head. Every BH has the choice to DB or not to DB. You can start a shout macro that screams "I don't DB" and the Jedi will probably stay and fight. I would. I tell all the BHs in my guild to DB only if the Jedi is trash-talking. Players can and SHOULD show each other respect. I personally think it is very disrespectful to hinder someone else's gameplay. PVPingby ambush is not a hinderance, but DBing just to collect a check when the Jedi would be happy to pay is mean.

You won, the Jedi would die. What is the point of causing the Jedi to replay hours of game-time? The sad old dead horse of "you knew the risk" is pathetic. Everyone knows the risk, but the entire Jedi/BH history has been filled with bugs, griefing, ganking, etc. Do you think it is a perfect system? If so, go ahead and "work it as intended." I believe it is flawed, severely, and BHs can participate without causing Jedi to lose play time other than the fight itself.

Are you happy that Jedi have been griefed out of the game? You can say it's their fault for getting visibility, but your professionhad a direct part in removing some of your content from the game. Face it BHs, you can get your PVP jollies the good-old-fashioned way by going overt. You don't want fair PVP though. You want a 1-vs-1, no interruptions, opponent can't run or hide, first-strike attack where you have no risk of loss and hundreds of thousands of credits to gain. That sounds just perfect, why not participate?

Your profession would be in a sadder state if we all decided not to get visibility, play our alts, grind in private. Where would your content be then? I'll end this rant in the same way I ended my last post: Don't expect respect, try to earn it.

awww poor Jedi that've been griefed out of the game. Think about the thousands of people that've left the game because the game **edit**ing sucks because of Jedi. Excuse me while I go contemplate cancelling my account.

If you hate Jedi so much, why are you posting in this forum? If the game sucks so badly for you, why do you continue to play? I honestly don't want to know the answer, but you may want to find a better use of your time.

Thank you all good night.....

All this arguing about DON'T GET VIZ is hilarious...we ran around (those of us who knew what we were doing) grinding jedi in the dark...but still somehow got Viz from people running between houses...random spawn pops of NPCs...I really wish people wouldn't lay blame to us for viz..we can't control it 100%. It's impossible to go through the whole jedi grind with no viz...maybe not nough to get on a BH's list...but every Jedi has gotten viz sometime in the grind time...Bikes, Corpses, random spawns, etc...

Very true. But what you said that I've highlighted in bold is what I was talking about. I'm sure I've gotten visibility; in fact I know I have just trying to do the Secrets of the Syren quest. But I don't think it was enough to put me on the terminals. I've never been attacked by any BH, and it's hard to believe that it's because every BH that's gotten my mission has been completely benevolent, saw that it was me, and dropped it. If so, my hat's off to them. I bother nobody in game, and I like it that nobody bothers me. I XP with my in-game wife, who is a Master riflewoman. Before group visibility was canceled, we kept our distance from each other when fighting. Now we can fight side by side. But the overriding concern is still there, and I'm very cognizant about visibility and what garnishes it. I don't typically do anything to gain visibility. Since the things that cause it are well known, it should be easy enough to avoid getting enough to put you on the terminals. Granted, that does eliminate a lot of the content for Jedi though, and that's something that should be addressed by the Devs.

OK, I'm only posting this because it's happened to me like twice in the past week.

I had these two hunts where I was beaten by these two very skilled Jedi, and they were both very good fights. However, I was surprised to see after the fight was over, while I was typing my congratulautions to him, that he laughs at my corpse and sends me 10 tells saying that I "Messed with the wrong Jedi, N00b!" A similar thing happened like a day later.

What's with all the hate? It's a game and nobody should be being this mean to other players. Regardless of their profession. Sure, BHs do it too, and they're just as bad as the Jedi who trash-talk. I mean, it's just plain nasty. I consider myself a pretty nice guy, and whenever this happens I'm pretty dumbfounded. I'm just doing my job as a BH.

Why can't we all just... get along?

PS- I'm not trying to get flamed or accuse anybody of anything, I think I'm being as open as I can be. Don't turn this thread into a Jedi/BH war. I'm posting this in both forums btw.

You had the misfortune to run into some bad ones.

Most BH's I run into are out to kill me no doubt, but when its over, win or lose most just /bow or "good fight" and move on. I do the same.
