Exactly.
And fix the damn profession before you change it. Cutting the skill requirements is not fixing the profession, its just a way to give the Dev's more time to work on more "Important" things.
In the end though, half the people who are going tomaster BH will still get Master Scout just for Rnager tracking. Ranger Tracking is one of the only ways we can get through investigation without it taking forever.
Please Fix The Profession Before You Decide To Change IT.

Not as good as my suggestion to make the pre-req simply novice box in any elite combat class...
But I am a LOT happier today
I mean they have just eliminated the last reason (the huge prereqs) for bounty hunters to stand out from the rest of the elite combat professions. I was hoping for BH to get a boost but no, because SOE is unable to do anything they just turn BHs into dabblers. Well don't know what to say. It's so sad and I am losing faith in this game.

What this change will do isn't help bounty hunters, it will eliminate actual "Bounty Hunters" as the primary Jedi hunters and replace them with Investigation/TKA or Fencer hybrids that will be most effective at hunting Jedi, since melee is far stronger against Jedi than ranged.
Move player Jedi bounties to Master Bounty Hunter or this change is going to kill both Jedi and Bounty Hunters as viable professions.

I am a lot happier now..
But, I still think the solution, along the lines you have here, is to make the BH pre-req simply having a novice box in an elite combat profession (like novice pistoleer, novice carbineer, etc) and giving us human-traps and gadgets and such (like I laid out in my thread here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bounty_hunter&message.id=227733&jump=true
This is not a BH fix at any rate
I'd rather be able to have 1 NPC mission and 1 player mission.

This is something that we have been considering for a long time, and wanted to do as part of the CB, but we need you to be as effective as possible against Jedi as soon as possible. This is a start.
Your other issues are known, and in varying stages of development, but we want you to know that things are going to get better. Hopefully rapidly.
This change will be hitting Test Center tomorrow afternoon, and should be Live by Friday.

bleh double post here is what i wanted to say.
as an ex-MBH i can see how the weapon swithc is an ENORMOUS nerf to the BH profession. the ONLY advantage a BH had was her ability to switch rapidly from weapon to weapon and special to special. the 5 second delay put in to stop jedi from sploiting is a nerf to the BH in a way that is best described as a nuclear bomb.
