While the helmet and robes of the Royal Guard draw inspiration from the Old Republic Senate Guard, the sleek armor underneath has more martial underpinnings. The Mandalorian Death Watch and the Thyrsus Sun Guard are said to have inspired the form-fitting armor. In terms of maximum protection with minimal encumbrance, the Royal Guard armor is a quantum leap beyond that worn by Imperial stormtroopers.

After impeccable and impressive performance, candidates have their training advanced to achieve the rank of Royal Guard. On the barren world of Yinchorr, Guardsmen undergo grueling tests of combat reflexes and stamina. They are trained in the deadly martial art of echani.

In Palpatine's fanatical drive to draw the most from his followers' ambition and greed, he constantly added levels of achievement beyond the highest rank. That said, the best Royal Guards aspired to become Imperial Sovereign Protectors. Their armor was more ceremonial and ornate than that of the standard Royal Guards, and their skills were said to have been augmented by the dark side of the Force.

After the death of Palpatine at Endor, the ranks of the Royal Guards scattered. Since no one but the highest ranking officials knew the exact number of guardsmen, they could not be accurately accounted for. Some followed the warlords that appeared to fill the void of the Emperor's passing. Others retreated into the Deep Core, following more sinister plans

I am very curious to where you got this. I went to that link and sure it was, right there clear as day. But then I went again and it said this under Imperial Royal Guard aka Emperor's Royal Guard:

Elegance and deadliness --- these are the hallmarks of the crimson-clad Royal Guard that accompanied the galaxy's sovereign at all times. While the guards can trace their origins to the cerulean-clad Senate Guards of the Republic, Palpatine crafted an order of protectors that stood apart from the rest of his forces.

Only the most promising of the Imperial ranks were selected for Royal Guard duty, based on stringent requirements of size, strength, intelligence, and loyalty. A Royal Guard was completely covered in flowing red robes and a sleek, featureless scarlet mask obscures their faces.

So this means that an Emperor's RoyalGuard is more Elite than an Imperial Royal Guard?

Since they are the Emperor's personal guard, you should also stand on watch beside the Emperor 75% of you gaming time, to ward of any potential attacks against him.

I will be updating this post nearly every day with by expanding my Imperial Royal Guard idea. Right now I am thinking about skill boxes for the Imperial Royal Guard profession and working a lil' more info in on the Npcs. Thanks for the support!

***NEW

New faction system:

The new faction system will be many factions instead of just 3 (Rebel, Imperial, Neutral). There will be Rebel, Imperial, Dark Side andNeutral. The Neutral faction will be broken up into many factions including Pirate, Black Sun and just regular neutral. The Neutral faction is still a work in progress.

Each faction will have a Super Elite Profssion or SEP which will be an End-game profession. Here is the list of SEPs

Rebel: Jedi

Imperial: Imperial Royal Guard

Dark Side (might change): Dark Jedi

Neutral: ???

Imperial Royal Guard: Npcs ***Updated

The most intimidating ranks in my opinion are the Imperial Royal Guard, mysteriously protrayed onlya handful of times in the movies. With the increasing Jedi population (which is ridiculous, some servers it is 1/5, some it is 1/3.) The Empire needs to take action! Jedi are suppose to be mysterious and in hiding, not playing war games in Theed with each other. The Imperial Royal Guards will help conceal and hopefully thin the Jedi population if it is ever implmented. Here is how it will work:

Imperial Royal Guards will be High Level Elite mobs, (CL 92). They will be dressed in their crimson robes and their mysterious crimson face masks. They will be armed with their deadly, yet elegant, force pike. Some will patrol capitals such as Theed or Coronet. And some will stand and guard key points like the Theed Starport, the Theed Palace, the Emperor's Imperial retreat etc. In short they are Jedi hunters, and for Jedi who have gained visibility in cities, Imperial Royal Guards will be deployed to that city location to kill the Jedi. No matter what they will always come in groups of two or more. Those against the Imperial faction may recieve a Trophy of Excellance from a Imperial Royal Guard (A Royal Guard mask) and other rare and unique items.

Imperial Royal Guard Elites (Npcs) ***Updated

These Npcs will be a step up from the crimson covered guardians of the Empire. They will be dressed in Black head to toe and they will be like CL 94. They will be much harder to kill than a regular Imperial Guard. Just like thelower-level ImperialRoyal Guard, the Imperial Royal GuardElite will target/stalk/fight any Jedi or Dark Jedi, special forces, combatant or on leave. They will definantly add a Jedi population control to the galaxy.

Imperial Royal Guard: Profession (Imperial only) ***Updated

After becoming a master pikeman and master brawler and after acumulating the faction points needed (30,000) Then you will be able to be trained in the Imperial Royal Guard profession. The profession is meant to match the threat of the uprising Jedi but it will match the power of a Jedi Knight or higher. One who wishes to become an Imperial Royal Guard must talk to the Empeor, and do many missions. After many missions (hard missions) then the Imperial will be trained in a novice skill box (Imperial Royal Guard Novice). (It will take an average of two months to get the novice skillbox)The training will take up all of the remaining skill points. And every skill box after novice including master will 0. And at novice a new weapon will be issued, a training Force Pike.

The Imperial Royal Guardsman profession will feature a list of new melee abilites and high defences and mods for the pike/brawler profession. One skill tree which for the moment I am calling "Imperial Duty" (Imperial Duty I: Orders, Imperial Duty II: Special Orders, Imperial Duty III: Elite Orders, Imperial Duty IV: Royal Orders) will be much like the investigation tree of bounty hunter. Under this tree the Royal guard will do missions (like bounty missions) to hunt down and eliminate the threats of the Empire (Jedi included) but instead of being paid in credits, the Royal Guards will be paid in faction points. Now some of you are prolly like ok, so how else does the Royal Guard level up? Well it will be a mixture of Faction points and Polearm experience. And at Novice you will get the Imperial Royal Guard uniform which is basicly very high stat battle armor. This battle armor is very unique:

-Is Improved battle armor.

-It can never be traded.

-It has a bio linking system.

-It has improved fighting benefits and skill mods.

-It can only be worn if you are a combatant or special force member.

At master (Imperial Royal Guard Ace) the Royal Guard will get a new weapon cert, the dreaded and feared Force Pike... (an item that is bio linked and only can be used by Imperial Guards (however, it can be traded).

This is the updated version of the Imperial Royal Guard NPC, and Profession. I am still working with the other factions to see what I can come up with. Thank you.

Sounds like a risk-free, Imperial-only version of Jedi. After all, who's going to hunt the Imperial guard when their population explodes? Sorry man, I want to be an Imperial guard as much as anyone else, but...

Imperial Royal Guards are meant to be seen, unlike Jedi. And it will be difficult, it wont be a 2 week trial, It will take nearly a year to get everything. Jedi are suppose to be hidden... when someone sees a Jedi they should say ooooh a Jedi.

Personally, I have said since day 1...you should be able to obtain the Imperial Royal Guard outfit to wear and hunt down jedi. Ever read Crimson Empire?

Yeah, and also...someone mentioned it would be "harder" on Padawans....we'll exscuse $(*%%& me. lol...there should barely be any jedi running around in the first place, they should fear the empire....but hey, thats just me.

Doesn't matter. Jedi get hunted for a reason. It's the price we pay for being statistically better than anyone else once we hit full template. So what your proposing is a God-class with aboslutely no drawbacks whatsoever. Am I the only one who sees a problem with this?

Besides, SOE has a problem with difficulty. Jedi was supposed to be insanely difficult and impossible to figure out how to unlock and look where that got us...

NPCs: Good idea. I like it. I think it would be cool. However, make it so they only attack when a Jedi clearly displays Jedi-traits. I.E, if you get vis from a crimson guard, you also get attacked by them.

Profession: Very bad idea for the above stated reasons. People are b*tching already about Jedi being a god class and ruining PvP and the GCW, and we're already on both sides of the war. Start adding in more god-classes and everyone who was happy and content being a BH or a Rifleman, or any other "normal" prof will start complaining that they are being phased out.

The devs always wanted there to be Jedi in the game, but they wanted to make it extremly difficult and they had no idea that it would get to be this ridiculous. And it is, its outragous. I did not get this game nearly 3 years ago to fight Jedi, I did it to play Star Wars. Jedi arent even around in this timeline and the ones who are should be in hiding. I mean give me a break. And the thing that makes me even more mad is that Jedi complain. They complain about everything. The Imperial Royal Guard Profession does have draw backs, one being you get Exiled points, you get enough Exile points and the Empire declares you as an enemy. Only way to get back in good terms is kill Jedi. I am still fiddling with that idea. I like it, a lot.
