Thread: Major Idea*** Imperial Royal Guard
I have heard much talk about end-game. Is this meaning that the game would actually end like at lets say the battle of Endor? I do not mean to be rude but that would never happen. For nearly the last 3 years Star Wars Galaxies has dominated the MMORPG gaming industry. It is a huge, and it makes lots of money. To end a game such as this would be pointless. And people are like well 10 years from now the graphics will be outdated. Uh no... takae a screen shot from not and compare it to back then. The graphics have improved drasticly and so many new features have been added, and are added every month. This is a game that will never end in my opinion.
Haha That had nothing to do with this post but moving on, yes Jedi and bounty hunters need their own faction. And maybe in the future there will be mulitple factions for example, Black Sun, Jabba, Borvo, Nym, Bounty Hunter guild, Dark Jedi etc etc. If each had a super elitle profession, that would not only improve the game play but the story line. Lets say Imperial guards are drastic enforcers of peace. As I mentioned before the NPCs will be very high level and hard to kill, just like the profession. Every faction is against each other... and they all fight each other. Sure alliances could be made but over hall the Empire would stand out on top and have the toughest NPCs and what not. Remeber, the Galactic Empire is ruled by a Sith Lord, and they are the Super power of the universe. Making the Imperial npcs tougher and some more changes will make the game play much more realistic.
And some one did mention that the Imperial Royal Guards were Carbineers and trained in the art of Enchani. That is a false statement. They were strictly pike fighters and used only the issued Force Pike (which might I add has no connection to the "Force"). I got my info on Starwars.com They might have been trained some what in the Enchani art, but they were not Carbineers or Teras Kasi Artists.
End game does not mean to end the game. It is what you have when you complete all your goals or aims. For example if you created your character to become a dancer, their end game would to be a master dancer who dances, that's all and that's very boring. This is the reason so many people become jedi and bounty hunters - these professions have the best 'end game', where as a jedi you are hunted and will have the FRS back, which encourages you to continue playing and rewards you for your continued efforts. The end game for bounty hunters is being able to hunt jedi, and no two hunts are the same keeping the game fresh, varied and interesting for the player. The problem is that for all other professions there is no good end game. So if you become master pistoleer master smuggler, there is only an end game of pvp with no real rewards, and destroy missions, unless you do jedi. An end game gives people focus, something to achieve, something to aim for, and in the case of jedi it is getting new skills and abilities, gaining power. For bounty hunters it is learning, getting the best equipment, adking your equipment and making a name for yourself. There is no end game for other professions - this is why very few players who only have 1 account remain as master crafters, as their end game is horribly boring - crafting the same things over and over again - where's the fun in that, may as well go to work. This royal guard idea is so appealing for a couple reasons - 1. It adds a more 'real' feel to the game - less jedi on the streets and a hard life for jedi. 2. It adds a new end game for people to work for - something that non-jedi and non-bounty hunters can achieve and develop, so after hours of play the player can feel they are getting somewhere and achieving something. 3. It makes the empire more appealing, so what we shall have more imperial players, that's the way the game is meant to be, and if players are willing to change factions for a more powerful perk so what? What's wrong with that?
I like the idea of the royal guard. I also like the idea of the devs introducing more craftable items and weapons and armour for the crafters out there that only very experienced crafters can make, like the RSF armour. Factional crafters was my idea - imperial factional crafters could make imperial uniforms, imperial weapons, imperial armour and imperial vehicles, droids, ship parts etc. Rebel crafters could do the same and the same for neutrals - they could make a new type of bh armour and some nice neutral stuff, these could be like the frs - you need a LOT of xp and fp for each rank, but u can get good rewards in the area of content. This will add an end game for our crafters so we will have more in the universe. I forsee that if star destroyers are released and other cap ships that are player owned it will be the end game for pilots. This is a great idea that introduces an end game for imperials, there could be a more covert one for rebels, like urban warefare tactics - less good vs jedi but good in causing disruption and creating chaos. Maby after the new expansion pack and profession revamps for ranger, sl (pub 24)and smuggler (who have also been asking for a new end game of a smuggling ranking system) maby all professions and factions will get an end game........*dreams of a game with more than 1 or 2 end games...*
Well there we go. I've answered your question on end game and added some of my thoughts. Nice idea, keep 'em coming...
