I think this idea is fantastic. We need something to moderate the jedi population besides Bounty Hunters. And think about the possibilities: if an Imperial Guardsman mastered the Imperial Guard Profession (we could make it as hard to master as jedi, and maybe make both of them harder to master) he would then be able to continue doing missions for the Emporer. Eventually, he would be promoted to the Emporer's Hand (after like a million Imperial Guard FP). From here, if he cntinued to prosper, he would have the opportunity to train with the Emporer or something and become a sith warrior.

This makes great sense to me. The Imperial Guard should be about as hard as a Jedi; they should be a very great threat. Afterwards, they would be trained as the Emporer's Hand, who would be better than most Jedi, although a Jedi Knight could maybe take them. Meanwhile, the Jedi could have an extension of their skills, so that they would have the oportunity to match the Emporer's Hand. They could become an Elite Jedi Master, or something like that, which would be even more powerful than a Jedi Master. At this point, the Jedi would have an almost unmatchable ability to bond with the Force during lightsaber combat and would exercise a lethal degree of knowledge of the intricacies of the Force. Further along, one could become a Legendary Jedi Master or something, and the Emporer's Hand would be able to unlock and complete a Sith tree. The Novice end would earn them the rank of Sith Warrior or Knight or something. At the master level (by this point no Bounty Hunter would be able to touch you) you wouls be considered a Sith Lord and would kick arse.

I think the problem with Jedi in this game is that the path of a Jedi is one that can never be explored to its full potential; there is always the possibility to gain a newfound knowledge of an even deeper sense of the Force. This should be ridiculously hard. People should spend a year or two grinding nonstop and only then would they reach the rank of Sith Lord.

Sad to think that for some reason, the devs will probably never let this happen. Seems like the main complaint that people have is that there are so many Jedi. So just make all the Jedi Masters into Jedi Knights. Make all the Knights into Padawans. The Padawans will become Initiates. You know the rest...

If there are too many Jedi, just make it so hard to be a full-fledged Jedi with nearly unmatchable skills that most people will give up after a month or so and content themselves with more ordinary arrays of skills. The GCW can still rage on, but fifteen pistoleers and riflemen shouldn't have a hope of killing a Sith Lord or Legendary Jedi Master. Honestly, if someone feels that grinding for a year and a half is worth it, then let them. IF they get bored, let them quest and engage in PVP.

Thanks all, try to kep an open mind and remember that in order to make the Jedi system better, we WILL have to change it

I have been improvising with the factions. Thinking that The factions should be split up like this:

Rebel Alliance

Galactic Empire

Jedi: Light Side, and Dark Side

Neutral

Thats what I came up with, the Jedi side I think really has to be implemented.

I dont know how much you have been reading, but in my posts I talk about making new factions. And each faction having an SEP (Super Elite Profession). I am still working with it.

I think this is a SICK idea!!!! I would love to see these guys.

By killing jedi that are SF, Combatant and/or on leave....i hope you mean they stalk and kill them whey they are showing signs of a jedi...and not in complete civilian looking robes or clothes. Meaning i think they should only kill jedi if they can really tell they are a jedi (ie: Wearing Jedi robes, and/or a lightsaber in hand). I dont think they should be chasing disquised or naked jedi padawans JUST because they are a jedi. Just wanted to clarify that...

More importantly however, this will NEVER be implimented unless you come up with the same profession idea for both the REBELS and probably NUETRAL players. You can't just have a new imperial profession, people will riot.

How about making this profession ELITE. As in, there can only be so many Imp Royal Guards. Kind of like a clan perhaps. Maybe allow only 200 Royal guards on each server. Maybe even only 100. And you can only become a royal guard when someone of the Order retires and drops their profession. So say you have a new clan of royal guards. Make it so there can be as many members in the guild as you want, say 250 for arguments sake. So 250 players are in the guild, but only 100 can be complete royal guards. The others can ONLY train up to Novice, and can not train anymore in the skills until one of the members drops the profession and gives it to another player. This would enhance a "Master" and "Apprentice" kind of effect and could be fun.

I personally wouldn't do this profession, but I definately like the idea.

I know SOE wont put this in the game..but for arguments sake, i think it would be cool to see this implimented, but i worry that EVERY player will want to be this as an alternative to Jedi. So you will need to put a cap on this profession to make it cool and rare to see one of these guys in the game.

And *IF* this did come out, i think Jedi would be complaigning that another profession is damn near as good as them. So you would have to then make MASTER JEDI a completely god-like profession. Just my .02 cents.
