Thread: Bomb Droids
command to detonate a droid is /detonatedroid, however just /detonate is fine (you can go shorter but I've never tested how short - they're not something you want to impulse use...they need to be a planned explosion)
Also, you must have the droid targeted for this to work.
Blast radius is 17 metres, IIRC and does 150-200 points of PvE blast damage per point in power (25% of that for PvP). This damage is across random pools
default commands are 'chase' for following a target, 'group' for making it group with you, 'follow' to follow yourself, and 'stay' to make it stop moving.
Always, always always use '/tellpet [command]' to command it, or you'll give away a possible advantage.
when you tell it detonate, it will have a visible 3 2 1 countdown.
mouse droids can have a max boom of 40 (2 modules with a max of 10 each, and a +10 per module - mouse droid bonus)
After that, you may go for big boomers - R3s with max of 60. 6 modules with a max of 10.
Any more questions?
cheers

unless you've attacked the lair beforehand.
Oh, there is a bug where the target will NOT be affected by the explosion, even though the combat spam says they were.

The best application of a Bomb drod was used on this mission!

Best by-pass to Feign Dealth there is!
2. it will be in their descriptions - some DEs will put it in their title

Thanks for the info but as I've said, I don't know NOTHING about them.
1- Are they special droids like seekers or arakyd probes or they are droids with a special module?
- They are not like seekers or arakyds. They are normal droids that are load with a "special" component that gives it the exploing power.
2- How can I know their power? Is it shown in their names or in their detailed info?
- Should be listed in the droid. A good measuring stick is 1K per 2 power level for the price.
- You will probably need to get a hold of a droid engineer for a custome order
Thanks again.

Ok, its been a while since ive used one but basically i think you use the /detonatedroid or maybe its /detonatebomb command when u have the droid targeted and then it'l countdown from 5 then blow. It may be a good idea to teach it commands like follow target, and follow and get it to chase target then blow. I think it stops moving once the countdown to detonation starts tho.Piemaster is pretty close.
I use these bomb droids all the time and anyone that would not use them is missing out of the greatest 1 shot hit you can have. I've nailed Jedi for 1,800+ damage all the time. A Power level of 52 Droid will run about $35k each so use them wisely.
Here is how it works. First thing you need to do is name your Droid.
Then you will need 2 macros.
- Targeting Macro
- The Default command for your droid to follow someone is "chase"
- /tellpet chase
- This will get your Bot to follow what ever you have targeted all over
- Detonate Macro
- It takes a countdown of 3 to explode, but make sure your target is on his back or he can attack the droid and destroy it be for it finishes the coutdown
- /target (insert bot name here)
- /pause 2
- /detonatedroid
- There are a few important things to remember.
- When targeting your droid, you must use the ( ) around your bots name.
- When you are detonating your droid, you need that pause 2 in there or the Detonate command will not take.
- Keed in mind that you are switching from targeting your mark, to targeting your droid. DO NOT SWITCH BACK TO YOUR MARK until the countdown has started!
- The droids takes out anything in a 15 meter radius (including your marks bike, lairs, and creatures)
- The Droid will follow your target oncet he countdown has started if he tries to flee.

Ok I hope this will help!
Bomb Droids
They come in a few different flavors. Mouse droids (the little beeping guys) Probot Droids (look the same as your BH Arakyd Droids) and R3 droids (Look just like R2-D2)
Each type of droid can hold explosives. To see how powerfull they are look at the details and you will see Detonation Power: The higher the better. R3 droids have detonation power up to 60.
Using bomb droids is similar to using normal droids. You can customize the name and commands. To custimize the name teach the droid 4 commands using the desired name. i.e med follow, med store, med stay, med group. Your Droid will now be called "med."
TIP** Always rename your droids to something other than te default name. Using names like med etc make the droid stand out less. I would also suggest colouring the droid from the default colour to make it less noticeable.
Droid Tactics
This is just my way of using them, feel free to do use as you see fit. Most times I will attack first....why? hopefully the Jedi will focus on me not notice the droid that i told to stay a few meters back. Seconds after that I send the droid in using this macro.
/target (jedi name);
/yell ft; (my follow target command)
/pause 3;
/tellpet detonate
I also use a Deathblow macro which is really simple.
/deathblow
/macro deathblow
This should get even a TK with force of will because it just spams DB over and over.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, I know all what I need to know about those droids now. Thanks again.
