Thread: Duel exploit still ruining it.

I love how the BH's only whine when /duel is used against them, yet had no problem using it in the past.

Bro hate to tell you this, but if they /duel you then that means they aresuspicious of you. So even if /duel was fixed, they would still be suspicious of you right? Soooo if they are suspicious of you already then that means maybe you werent being sneaky enough.
All im trying to say is, if they /duel you, then that means you are to close if you are not ready to fight.
You dont stand in the open5 feet away from the deer right?
yes but soemtimes you pretend your hunting krayts or soemthing just waiting for the opertune time to strike ... and theyy may use /duel on you and it ruins it
Exactly. I get this all the time. I will be standing by a starport in casual dress, have an Emergency Technican title up, and still get /duels by Jedi that are around. If my mark is in an outpost I stand by the bazaar to make it look like I am there for something else and this happens. For me its a pain because I like to sneak around my mark.

yeah suspicious is fine but /duel answers the question definitively. We can't have that. I am a known bh because I am good at killing jedi (hit 75 kills today) but a jedi should not be able to know for sure if I am or am not after them. Jedi travel in packs and all they have to do is duel you to see which one it is and then you get the jedi that you are after saying "lets just go then".
To the guy that said if it were against jedi it would be fixed already...you are right. Look how long it took the jedi tef bug that allowed jedi to run into their house to be fixed and that was a horrible bug.
Or that decent pearls havent dropped since the CU and prpbably wont be fixed until after expansion.
For the OP:
Get over it.
There is a difference between a bug and a exploit. Exploits will get you banned, suspended or a warning. Doing a /duel will not get you any of those. Its a BUG. Oh yea, and no Dev said its a exploit. They said its a problem and will be looked into.
BUT the real problem is, you need to get better Jedi hunting tactics or stick to NPC Marks. If Jedi has the time to cursor over your dot on radar, do a /target then a /examine, the jig is up already.
Dont treat Jedi bounties like NPC bounties and you'll see better results.
Perhaps your definition of exploit is skewed. Using a "kn own" bug for your advantage when you know its a "bug" is guess what? Its called "Exploit", and it is a bannable offense in my opinion of you /duel on a known BH knowing that if they have your mission they will turn red. Now I know that /duel is used in the game for people to "duel" each other but 90% of the time there is some typeof correspondence between the two players before the /duel is even issued. Like " hey man you want to duel?" other guy is like "yea I am leetfully uberz yo lolz k /dule kthnxbye"
You also say the the guy needs to find a new profession if he gets so close to his mark that they can see him. Have you hunted many Jedi? I seriously doubt it. If you did you would know that you have to be within 80 meters of someone usually for them to become visibleon your screenif they are in a hunting group. You may ask why would you want to see them? Well wouldn't it be great to see how much health they had? See how many MOBs were on them....... see what I am saying? Half the time you get don't get a name back from the droid so you don't even know who your mark is until you tab over them.
Understand its not a recommended game practice and it is a bug and if you use it is an exploit. Look up the definition exploit and apply it here and if you still say he sucks and needs to be a dancer instead, then there really isn't any reasoning with you. I suspect your a Jedi anyway and share the same dogmatic views as the rest of sheep that some how continually pour out of the dathomir village.
I only read the first page of this topic.
Yes, it does suck when a loserjedi /duel's you, but atleast you are still able to attack him/her.
When loser BH's did the /duel exploit so the jedi couldn't attack back(Unless they figure out what's going on and do it back), it sucked bad.
I wish the devs could have thought of a better way to fix the /duel exploits, but as of right now I like this system better than the old. Atleast now we don't have wanna-be BH's giving us legit ones a bad name...Now it's just loser jedi doing the "dis--honorable" thing. /shrug

LOL I agree,
Face it, some of you are real boinkers. Like cmon, a proton carbine or scatter equiped weapon isn't real hard to noodle through. Having bazillion buffs up doesn't mean the jedi has to be a rocket scientist to figure you out.
A blue dot driving up to your house (which is in the middle of bum fock egypt)isn't hard to conclude your a BH.
Personally, I haven't used /duel because mostly I have determined your a BH, just by looking at you. It isn't hard most of the time. Even if I haven't figured you out. If your close to me and you attack...Guess what. You're DEAD! Simply stated. If you attack a high level Jedi and you dont have the element of suprise....Guess What ! YOU"RE DEAD!
The BH's that have killed me are the ones I never saw. Or at least until they were running up to me and putting the db on me.
If you are looking for the "I WIN" button. Then I strongly suggest you learn the tatics of a real master bounter HUNTER.
Hunter....one that utilizes stealth as means to kill his prey.
Jedi can't /duel you if they dont know you exist.

So surprise is supposed to make us equal to a full temp jedi....now with a simple /duel that is taken away....it's game breaking for us really. We have to run in guns blazing to get the drop on a jedi and we cannot study them at all or wait for the right moment. They always know now. Bounty hunters are not rush in and attack guys they are hunters....do you wave to a deer and get it's attention before you shoot it?
Do we need to do what the jedi do whenever something isn't going there way and just threaten to cancel to get anything changed?
You know I don't mind losing, I don't mind fighting an opponent that is superior in everyway but for the devs to actually say "this makes you equal" and then not fix something that makes us "not equal" is just another slap in the face towards the non-jedi population.
We also need to treat those that use this exploit as what they are....exploiters.
No offense but you should be out studying the Bounties before you accept the missions. Use your /notepad to make notes of people.
