Thread: Duel exploit still ruining it.
"hey bud...you know those random people who show up, whom you don't know and/or don't like, and hang around for no apparent reason? feel free to offer them a duel....it will be a fair stakes contest....and if it turns out it's a BH, instead of the duel, you'll get a heads up....and if you thought it was a BH all along, and you were right...good for you! here's confirmation, use the information as you will."

Please, please tell me you are kidding.
You can't ... no... no.
That is the most hillarious reinterpretation of an exploit I have EVER read.

Sad to say bro (and you can get pissed at me for saying it if you want to) if it were something that hurt the Jedi rather than us........it would be fixed by now.
Yeah, like LS speed...
Is it suppose to be faster?
All of our specials except the basic saberhit are working off the saber's base speed, which in the case of post-cu sabers is around 2.3-2.6. Niether the mods in the trees nor in clothing attachments give any bonus to us ATM. combat haste only works because it's a different part of the speed equation.
you probably just don't notice it because we have 3 of the exact same special (head/body/leg hit) and only them, saberthow and powerhit are ever used, so we can alternate to compensate somewhat.
been like that since the CU

:::::::::: When you find out the name of your mark /addignore him. this will prevent him from dueling you and also will prevent you from hearing his usless jedi chatter of why u beat him.
That is excellent if it works. What kind of message do they get?
LOL I agree,
Face it, some of you are real boinkers. Like cmon, a proton carbine or scatter equiped weapon isn't real hard to noodle through. Having bazillion buffs up doesn't mean the jedi has to be a rocket scientist to figure you out.
A blue dot driving up to your house (which is in the middle of bum fock egypt)isn't hard to conclude your a BH.
Personally, I haven't used /duel because mostly I have determined your a BH, just by looking at you. It isn't hard most of the time. Even if I haven't figured you out. If your close to me and you attack...Guess what. You're DEAD! Simply stated. If you attack a high level Jedi and you dont have the element of suprise....Guess What ! YOU"RE DEAD!
The BH's that have killed me are the ones I never saw. Or at least until they were running up to me and putting the db on me.
If you are looking for the "I WIN" button. Then I strongly suggest you learn the tatics of a real master bounter HUNTER.
Hunter....one that utilizes stealth as means to kill his prey.
Jedi can't /duel you if they dont know you exist.

wow that was funny
Not every case can you prone and crawl 200m to your target, not everyone has cover. You think everyone should play the same way and leave this exploit in the game, that you say youve never used (bwahah)
sthu nub
This bug doesnt just affect the "jump off swoop, /underhand shot" brigade. It negates 1001 valid BH tactics. BH tactics have been reduced considerably by the terminal nerf, this exploit reduces tactics further. My favourite place to take a grinding mark was at the mission terminal, not at the lair. Now as soon as the mark gets to the outpost or whereever he knows I have his mission no matter how many people are milling about, forming groups, getting missions or buffs etc.
The reason there is a unique system message is most likely because, as usual, the "fix" for a bug was never tested properlyand the consequences were never considered before rushing it out to the huge test centre called "Live". I cant believe even the idiots at SOE would put in such a carebear "fix" on purpose to help the current crop of newbs with glowsticks.

eh?
I agree. if this was an exploit that would have been bad to jedi, it would have been fixed fast as h--l in a hotfix publish. (as the devs did with the BH /duel cheat)
And it is game breaking since we cant move around the mark as we want, and are supposed to be able to do!
The stalking/recon/sneaking is half the work of the hunt, and currently we cant do it!
Its really horrible that this hasnt been adressed yet, since it ha been around for months and months!!!
