Thread: Is this true?

Hihi guys... I think this is my first time posting in this particular forum. I've got a Master Merchant/Master Architect/Master Artisan/soon-to-be Master DE (Yes, I'm dropping some from my Merchant tree :smileysad.

Anyway... I had a question to pose here. This may have (and probably has) already been addressed elsewhere, so I apologize for my redundant contribution...

A) Is it true that the ability to COLORIZE the names of crafted items was taken out because it was "taking away from" the ability for merchants to utiliize the Premium auction function of the bazaar?

B) If this is true... has this issue been raised as an unneeded thing, with the possibility of the color coding going back into the game soon?

I have a lot of thoughts on how they could make the premium auction better, while leaving the color coding in the game... (for example, simply move ALL premium auctions to the very first page(s) of the list ALWAYS. That would solve the color problems with one simple server-side update )

One of the reasons stated was the effect on Premium auctions. I honestly thing this is not the main reason. It was stated that they want to give the ability back with an interface and other advantages that give everyone the ability to do it.

I personally think it has to do with the Eurpoean launch and the keyboard differences but that is just me.

European keyboard differences? You mean cos we cant use backslash? Made no difference to anyone I know, we cut and paste. They took it out because we werent meant to be able to do it in the first place.
As for premium actions they are a joke - a little star next to the item saying you're a mug that paid extra to have it listed?!
Premium items should always be shown on the front page and possibly highlighted.

That actually makes a LOT of sense... to give everyone the same advantage, and not just those who know how to make the codes.

Thanks for the info!!

I thought one reason that color coding was removed ,,was so that loot drops were being coded to yellow and they didnt want players using the same color,,but just like most else,,its mostly wonderment as to why!

There is also the powerup issue. Some weaponsmiths sell their weapons with powerups on them to make the weapon "appear" better than it actually is. Colortext would "mask" they yellow color that power-up'd weapons have. You used to have to be extra careful when buying weapons. Now when there is a powerup on a weapon, itappears yellow on the listing. Very easy to spot.

I agree Doc. It made the bazaar look like someone threw up in there.

Maybe a dev will stop in and enlighten us once and for all, and end the guesswork.

I don't know why they took colorization out and honestly I don't care... I'm just glad they did it. It was a mess.

That's a good point... I always scroll down on the weapon description to see what powerup was added (if any). But that doesn't mean everyone does that. But I don't get the feeling that that is why they removed the color coding.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I never liked the colored text in the first place. I'm still annoyed that I can't tell if a couple of my guns have powerups attached or not, because of their colored labels, and a lot of people would choose hard-to-read colors, and I just found it more annoying than helpful as a buyer.

I don't like color in items either. It screws up the sorting in the vendor and it creates an eyesore of mismatched colors.

Guildmate told me tonight that he's been getting better buffs (longer lasting) from Novice dancer's.

He said that he experimented with friends and kept getting longer duration buffs from the novice dancer both were flourishing the same amount.

He also said that he was told that we need to flourish more than we used to (I had a macro that I set up for buffing and had my flourishes timed pretty well, was getting double mind and at least 2 hour duration)

Thanks for any info

*hugs*
