Uhm ... tell your weaponsmith to throw a scope on that LLC ... ? Should add around +30 to +40 to ideal range mods. If you really want to go balls out, throw a range experimented stock on there ... if you REALLY want to go completely batty, throw a range experimented barrell on there. Not like you're going to miss the extra damage that month.

No, the skill point reduction *is* the overhaul. If this goes through, bounty hunters won't get a "good overhaul" later since it will be (rightly) aurgued that we can just "dabble" in other professionsto fix our deficiencies.

No one wants "some add hock patched together thing now", but that's exactly what this change is.

Please Devs: don't let the bounty hunter profession jump the shark...

**edit**...
Can't you see how bad this idea is?!
Look at all the feedback!!! Just read 5-10 pages of it, and you should get a pretty good impression of how awfully crappy this idea is...

all I can say is...

If this goes live, majority of the guild members in our guild will dabble in BH... because, they know that it's going to be a powerful profession now, being dabbled that is.

not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but this could be the greatest thing ever because of the force sensitivity that everyone will be able to use. it costs skill points, and now that we have an extra 48 to use, we'll be able to dump a ton ino becoming force sensitive in combat abilities, so this could possibly make us the 2nd best prof. in the game. with that said, we'll be the most boring prof., since Jedi bounties dont work still and player bounties seem to never be coming. whats the point to being a bounty hunter, if we cant take any actual human intelligent bounties. im currently 1444 BH and i cant stand doing investigation. the marks are to boring. one idea that i did read on here that i LOVED, was doing the BH trials type thing. having sort of a BH Tribunal, and make whoever joins, a nuetral. and the people who make it into this tribunal, get buffed stats that would make killing Jedi easier. maybe like initiates and mid-low level jedi would con white, and mid level would con yellow, and then mid-high and high/master jedi would con red, making them pretty much unbeatable solo.

Hmmmm... You know this sounds like a great idea at first, but I am hesitant to think it will solve more issues then it will cause. it seemsthat a major change likethiscould drasticallychange the dynamics of the game. At least when it comes to combat,PVP, jedi hunting, etc... I say this because it seems to me there have been so many smaller changes in the game that had huge effects that were not considered before release (ie, every single BH mission fix, kd counters, adjustments to defenses, the Jedi revamp and ..whoops whats to stop BH and Jedi from getting together to grind invest, etc...... there are too many to think of right now). I almost want to ask if anyone does any sort testing to see what the out come of a change will do to the game and not to just see if the code works. So, maybe this change will make a BH/Rifleman the uber combat template and all the TKA/Rifleman will change professions and then the TKA (Who were stated as being a jedi's only fear) will become asrare as BE. I am just hypothisizing, but I hope you can see my point. i just hate too feel experimented on, and frankly that is how I feel SOE treats its customers when it comes to changes in this game.

This is the problem that i see:

BH already has everything it needs to be a good prof. The mods and specials justneed to be tweaked (possibly temporary until a real revamp) to make us stronger and more effective. We should NOT have to depend on other profs inorder to be a viable oppenent. This just makes no sense.

A BH hunter should be able to stand on it's own. The day that we do not NEED to use other profs, is the day that i can be satisfied with BH.

Granted we should be able to dabble some, but we should not be completely dependent on others.

What it really comes down to is that this is NOT a "fix". Beacuse we are so f'ed up, we now HAVE to master other profs inorder to do our job. I know that there is nothing wrong with dabbling, but why should i NEED TKA, pistoleer, carbineer, etc to be an effective BH, it just doesn' t make any sense to me at all.

What i'm confused about is that at one point a MBH was probably the most powerful PvP prof out there. Then the nerf's came. So what i'm so confused about is that why do we need less points to make os stronger, if at one point in our history we were already there? Why is it that they just can't actually FIX us and make BH worth every single SP of the 217 requirement?

Alright. Can you also lower the reqs for commando to be ranged combat. That way I can master bh and master commando!

Thanks.

I completely agree with reducing the points to get to MBH...

However, as stated the delay on switching weapons hurts BH more than any other profession. IMHO there should be no delay what so ever when switching to a pistol or 1-handed weapon. (for realism sake)

As for the line to get to BH - Mask Scent is a fairly obtuse skill for pvp and plays no role what so ever in PvE vs bounty targets. It seems to me that the trapping line should be the path to Bounty Hunter. Bounty Hunters should get traps that they can use in pvp... I think just about every bounty hunter had some kind of trick up their sleeve.

I hope this comes in a hot fix soon - because right now many people are grinding BH... Wonder what could motivate them so...

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.
