Thread: Post-Publish 24 NPC Bounties
It seems that general regen has been reduced in most things now. Though from what I gather the bosses doing 1500 point ticks are either bugs or poorly thought out.
My experience.
1. The regen rate is not just a problem on 82s it seems to effect all double golds though not all the time. So its not just the top bosses doing this aslong as it has 35k ham and the like it can have the messed up regeneration. It seems the bosses were ran on different codeing then the general npcs and this codeing is to say the least bugged.
2. When you meat the super regenning bosses you usuallly encounter oddball AI and damage aswell. To top it off the range system seems broken. In other words mark is useing a pistol but hitting you at 80 meters.
3. The npcs have serious flaws and exploitable ones at that they have pre programmed well macros to do moves in set orders if you pop a knockdown mid chain they seem to stay knocked down.
My suggestions.
1. The regen needs set to normal levels and just the health increased this way no matter what class you are you can damage the opponent.
2. The chains can be predictable the marks need to change up chains or have a chance not to finish them. Knockdown recovery needs to be put in the chain at the end so marks do not get perma pinned and thus easily offed.
3. The damage needs to be looked at sometimes they do unreal damage and other times no damage at all. There is obviously a randomizer at play here a good solution would be standard damages for weapon used for the npc. This will prevent marks hitting for too much or too little.
4. Real armor needs to be put on these guys it can only make it more fun this generic fiftyfive percent armor makes it less rewarding to play smart. Might also help when a player encounters a bugged super regen mark if say that mark has a low kinetic resist.
5. Ranged shot and unarmed shot need to be in the mix more to more accurately simulate fighting a real opponent. When a mark spams 12 special shots in a row the rational player mind says he should not be doing anymore.
Like I said I have noticed the improvements on most AI on other npcs and the lower bh marks seem to be better. It would be nice if some of these changes are placed to the bounty boss marks. Solve most problems the npcs I have fought other then bh marks are not spamming specials do not have unbeleivable regen and use specials in a modest but effective manner. In other words every hit is not a special.
My Template: MBH, MCarb, Pistols 0004, Med 0010. I used Mandalorian Wine + Buff Crystal + Booster Blue. WHEN that ran out, i then used Vegneria Canape. THen I was full.
I used a probot droid with Med Capability (+110).
I used an Elite Carbine with max damage around 880. Min around 400. Basically a maxed weapon without any enhanced components.
I Died after about 20 minutes, 10+ stims. My cost, a set of 90k cred Marauder Leggings.
Is the intent of Publish 24 to necessitate the use of +25 CAs, AAs, etc?
I mean, I could have killed probably 75% of all jedi on the Valcyn Server using these same tactics.
My main complaint is that the NPC marks use every special. Therefore, you can't kite if you are ranged. They seemed to have range out to 65m. If you bring the fight in, they switch to melee. What pisses me off is that their ridiculous ACTION regen rates. I can live with their high health HAM, and even high Action HAM. But the regen rate of actions is f'd up. They spam special after special without ever touching their action pool.
As far as I'm concerned, this publish is a pile of dung. How's that for positive.
Oh, I have 6k resist All armor.
SOE managed to really F up a nice aspect of this game. Activities generally go like this:
1. Guild Stuff..oh nobody is online
2. Maybe I'll run a BH mission
3. BH Missions f'd up. Hmmm, maybe i'll just log out.

Ok - so up to just now i was feeling good and had taken out every mark easily, even a double gold elite mark. Then I get another elite which just seemed invicible - it had 32k ham and I reckon I got it down about 1/3rd before being sent to the cloner by which time I was without mind and couldn't heal. It switched weapons many times, rooted, KD'd and regen on health was ridiculous. Saw 1300 damage appear above my head at one point after an armor break, which happened way too many times seeing as I am supposed to be 75% sliced against that.
My temp is MBH/MP/CM4000, wearing AB sliced recon with 8100+ energy resist and +25mods almost across the board including healing. I was fully buffed plus had canape, brandy, pica, that dodge cake stuff and snowcake. Constantly had duelist stance running and timed my stopping shot/knock down perfectly throughout.Admittidley, I don't think I did aperfect job with the healing, made a couple of complacent mistakes that could have ended things sooner for me (and in the end obviously did!) but the outcome was pretty clear from about 2 minutes into the fight. Now you may say that pistols is the weaker prof but I would challenge you on that given the speed I can shoot at and I use very good guns (which by the way I switched between trying to find the most effective).
Don't get me wrong - I think that these marks should be as tough as anything in the game - but i am scratching my head right now what i could do different solo against this dude. I just hope that when i go back and kill him i get something worth all the effort.
Since the other thread disappeared, I'll retype my "real boss" encounter.
35.7k health, level 82. Used a carb as ranged, but quickly closed to melee range and pulled a power hammer. Did 300-600 damage with the carb (not so bad) but did 600-1200 with the power hammer against 7188 rated assault armor 75% AB sliced. Had insane regen.Couldland and stick my snare, but mark could still outrun me.With foods + spice and med / combat probot, first try I had to run because I noticed his health was still at 75% while my mind was down to 50%. Wasn't going to win that one.
Logged out and thought about it, decided to try again. Just FYI, I heal for around 1300 with droid out and snow cake. Second time a Malkloc lair spawned nearby, so I decided tolure the mark to the lair. Eventually, the mark did an area knockdown and aggroed everything, then I just had to play tank while letting everything else kill it. My experiences as a TKM / smuggler tanking Krayts definitely helped there. Stacked duelist stance (+250 def) + basic CoB (+250 def) + thundercloud, mark actually started to miss about 50% of the time, so it was much easier to keep up on heals. Alternated stims + bacta shot, while keeping low blow (combat slow) applied and doing a knockdown when it was time. Finally after about 15 minutes, it was dead and I looted an Illegal Core Booster.
Gun is damage capped / 68 Sac / 1.93 speed FW FWG-5 (With my mods it's 1.24 speed after damage powerup), Template MBH / M Smuggler / Medic 0010 / Novice Commando. Armor is 7188 Kin 5188 Energy 5288 Ele protection rebel assault armor, 1900 energy resist Imp PSG with + 10 ranged / melee acc. (yeah, I probably need a better PSG, but with marks closing to melee so often it doesn't really matter now) Used foods Thundercloud, snow cake, booster blue, kanali wafers, spiced tea, crispic, blob candy. Also switched to a SAC pup second time around, so I wasnever low on action or mind.
Mark was much tougher than any of the nightisisters (initiates, protectors, rangers, stalkers)I killed on the way back to the outpost after the fight. I caught up with the mark about 1k away from the nightsister stronghold, so I had plenty of nightsister targets to chose from on the way back.
I've killed several level 77-80 bosses since then, but none of them came even anywhere close to this fight. Those only took 2 minutes tops to kill, and I was never in any danger. Don't really mind the difficulty, but the payout and loots on the uberbosses should be adjusted to make it worth the fight.

The only thing I could think of improving is to change the scenerios abit. Like have some marks in bunkers, buildings, being guarded by a couple of people, actually in cities too. Also, it would be great if they were to actually move, like be walking across a planet, or through a city. Just something to make the whole BH profession feel alit more interactive when taking NPC missions.
Some higher rewards would be nice too, aswell as having NPCs like Jabba giving you a BH mission ect.
Well I have done 3 missions since pub 24, and here is what i came up with:
My template is MBH/MCM and some extra healing the rest of the points are in fs defense 7808kinetic armor and 646dps scatter pistol.
1. CL82 36,238 health Gold Double. His damage output was normal, and his resists were normal ( pre pub 24) but after maybe 10 minutes I was dead ( actually probably only 5, but who's counting) I took just a shade over 1k off his heal. Dropped the bounty.
2. CL-1 36,985 ham no boss marks ( yes that is negative 1 for the cl, have a screenie but too lazy to put it up) had no regen and didnt attack back, although he assumed the position. killed him in about 5 minutes.
3. CL81 36,758 health Gold Double. Once again damage and resistance normal. Using a striker pistol. I ran into a couple jedi freinds and a cm, they went with me to heal me so i could just focus on the mark due to my first experience. After about 45 minutes the jedi ran out of power and the cm had no mind, every shot the mob hit me with took my mind and action down about 5%. I started out with brandy, pikatta pie, systhesteak, +97 ranged defense drink, and +126 accuracy drink, but got full and couldnt take anythingthe last of the fight. At this point i knew i was dead, so I timed the regen rate, and got that it was regening around 400-425 points per second, and with his resists and misses i could only average about 480-490 dps. I dropped about 3800 off of his health before i died.
Didnt pay much attention to the first fight, but the third one i scrolled back through the combat log and he KD'd me every 4th to 5th attack with 100% success. and used advanced rapid fire 2 times in sucession. the other attacks varied between improved body shot and a rooting attack(used 3 different ones, one was only a snare though) And i beleive he inflicted every state in the game on me. This is what i call insane. I started about 30m outs, but when i noticed early on that i probably stood no chance even with the three people healing me i moved up trying to force him into melee, which he refused to do, he would just run back to 9-10m, which was alright, i wanted to be close enough to send a barrage of cm hellfire on him anyway.
When the jedi got back to cloning facility a remark was made that if i took off my armor and fought one of them I would stand a better chance. I didnt find that overly amusing, made me feel, like if i want to do a bh mission I am going to be forced to do Jedi so I stand a chance.
When all was said and done I got 30k in cash, no loot and my legs, chest, helmet and rightbicep went from 40k condition to under 10k.
I had a golden mark (32k HAM) on Lok. Looked like a Carbineer/Swordsman. I was buffed and used Food and Booster Blue. There was no chance of getting him below 25k. I used
After about 20 Minutes i went away. Using improved cripling shot and critical shot there was no way of getting him below 25k Health. He regenerated incredibly fast i just could keep up with his regeneration rate.
I,m glad it's not just me, i was killed by a double gold yesterday 32ish on health. I never saw his health go below a tenth or so. I am MBH/Mcarbs, some CM.I was spending more time healing, eating, and shootin stims than i was attacking. he slew me before i could regroup and think about it. i was using my hot proton carb, then i switched to a pretty decent NIMS and never did see him drop. i was also fully buffed, fun but dissapointing if you know what i mean.
was just fighting a double gold 35k ham boss mark and couldn´t kill him.
while his hits where ok, he was hitting for 250-300, and i was hitting him for 750-1000 dmg, his health never dropped below 30k, so i am unable to kill him.
i´m MBH/MPistols, CM4xxx, so i had no problems staying alive and all, but his health was regenerating faster than i could hit him.
