btw all of jaegens suggestions are very reasonable, and should have been that way from the begining.

So it got delayed totuesday Most of us had already started work on out grind, and I doubt seriously that this will delay us for very long. We have waited for a year what is three days. First off I would like to point out something that alot of children do not understand. Work aint easy its always way to dang easy to distill something down to a simple formula. For everything we see be it going to a office building or a retail store, or to the garbage man tossing trash in the truck. We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg. We rarely stop to consider what it takes to get those faces up to where we see them.

Does anyone here truely appreciate all the places that the bh skillpoint code intercedes with other codes. Think about it the game has a code in it that denotes BH to save space the devs might have simply written a code that told the system not to read up all our box files, but to just assume that we could toss traps a through G. That we could always build camps a through c. I mean what four years ago we had the world going nuts because some guy in 1980 decided that codeing for two other numbers was extraneous.

How happy would we be if they through out a patch that liked to fight with itself. How would we like it if we found ourselves ghosting all over the place and spawning tefs on any player we happened to come along. From what they said earlier this week they thought the code was relatively simple and easy to do. Just like alot of you assume. So if both sides thought the exact same thing. Can you really say they are fools or idiots. Is that not like saying your a fool and an idiot. Better safe and not haveing the first thousand bh who surrendered scout loseing bh. Better to not client crash when you take a mission. Better to not have people running around useing skills they sacraficed five minutes earlier.

Instead of being angry, be logical. They misjudged the complexity, and we have all done this in the past, and odds are we will do it for the rest of our lives. They were trying to be reassureing and kind. They were giveing us some notice so that we could prepare in advance. Lets not bite their heads off for being nice, and provideing good customer service. So they goofed. Big freaking deal.

How would you feal if your doing your best and someone comes along calls you names. Try practiceing the golden rule do onto others as you would have done onto you. Everyone on these forums says we want to know we want to be told, but look what happens when we are told. Promptly might I add, and we even got the reasons. Given to us in laymans terms might I add, and people want to bite the hand of the feeder. Those screaming and crying and insulting I thought I should say this the devs are in the right you are in the wrong.

I 5'd ya

Its just a game

I think most of the people on the forums here are used to posting in a particular fashion... kinda like their "gimmick" or "online persona"

Or maybe they are all just crotchety **edit**.

Its just a game

Its alot of code to go thru, alot of classes in the game, alot of places for things to go wrong in a system where everything is pretty much interdependant on everything else.

Its just a game.

Designed to work on the internet, which if you actually know anything about what makes the internet tick... you'd be surprised that even THAT worked AT ALL.... on multiple server's dependent on the same technology to interact with each other as a cohesive unit... with code written and built upon by probably hundreds of programmers/developers over a long period of time... on hardware that is bound to break... I could go on and on. We are lucky the damn thing works at all.

Its only 15 dollars a month per account. I wish cigarettes were that cheap! Hell 15 bucks only gets you about 3 shots of Jaeger at the bar, and then you act like a moron, and risk a DUI if your driving (and probably do more shots... hence spend more money)

That 15 bucks a month also gives you access to vent all of life's frustration's into these forums =P

lol I agree with you actually, and yes, I'm familiar with ole SOE ... I played EQ for a year... I've pretty much come to expect this level of crap from them ... its just in a different package.

this topic got a little to broad, and maybe that is my fault in my previous post... I rambled and went off subject... and didn't proof read it to see if it was a coherent statement =P

my attitude is more like so:

Well, this profession has been gimpnerfbuggedup for quite a while... I don't see any hope looking in these forums... but atleast they are finally trying to do something. If I get irritated wth the game, I'll do something else for a while, if I decide that I'm wasting my money at 15 bucks a month for a broke game... I'll simply stop paying it. Which is what I suggest any unsatisfied customer do.

I completely expected this to get delayed btw... so no surprise here.

This isnt a building or anything else you mentioned, but you was right about the code being something thats very hard and complexe.

Hard and complexe for those outside the relms of being a code monkey yes! but when SOE has the finacial resources like on the scale we are seeng its a different story.

Heres the hard bit so follow me "THEY PAY MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE TO DO A JOB FROM THE MONEY THEY TAKE OFF US EACH MONTH!!" they will not get any slack from me as they are not doing me a favour they doing their bloody highly paid job! More to they point SOE have a track record of crap like this ever played Planetside?

The whole time they will keep charging us to play then we are going to keep complaining as we are paying for this product.

Understand this, we do not see any long sighted structure as to what the development team is aiming for in 6 months time, SOE give us astrometics what the hell is that about? the time spend compling the data could have been used getting a simple monthly questionair answered asking what we have found an improvement in the game and what still needs improving?

Have we seen any evidence of this?

As for fixing errors in the data, why not try fixing alot of the "long running" problmes so that people may actualy see that SOE are doing somthing constructive rather than wait for TH to post about the latest Jedi enhancement? The Jedi should have been behind other profession's in a make over lke BH, Pikeman, Ranger etc. these people playing these professions have been highlighting issues since the game went live and stll half have been ignored.

SOE have provend repeatedly that they have the ability to fix errors as look how quick the hot fixes have arrived for Jedi on how many patches in a row now? so that tells me they have the resources to do it but where is the motivation?

Ever considered it may be the double standard attitude to gameplayers here that makes then agresive? if theres a weak point or exploitin a profession againstJedi every other profession will be nerfed, if theres a weak point or exploit in Jedi then still everyone gets nerfed! why are we being punished for their sins? namely 3 second delay at the moment.

People are going to get angry when crap like this happend every time, yo can do it onec or twice and people will moan do it all the tme and the wll think your an **edit**.

Here are a few numbers for ya:

Sony Corporation
Enterprise Value: $36.69 Billion
Cash Flow from Operations: $646,997,000
Gross Profit for the year ending MAR-05: $1,676,928,000
Net Income for the year ending MAR-05: $163,838,000
Tangible Assets for the year ending MAR-05: $2,120,430,000

How concerned about a few upset players in one of their games do you think they are? Anyone making any decisionsis looking at monthly trends... probably new players and total accounts, and a standard cost v. income report -- maybe just the second. As long as those numbers look good, then there will be no dramatic change in operations.

Please don't tell me about "all the people you know are leaving." You don't know the real numbers. Besides, if you and all your friends left the game, it wouldn't register on these reports. Sorry, but in the grand scale of Sony Corporation, Sony Online Entertainment, and even SWG specificaly, the number of smugglers who participate in this forum probably falls within the margin of error when compared to all subscribers. Maybe a bit more, but nothing that is statistically relevant.

Have a nice day.

The only thing that gives me glee is knowing that SOEs purchase of the Matrix is going to cut into those numbers :>

What really burns me is that I don't have a problem with SOE as a company.

I bought EQ2. I played it for a while, but decided that it wasn't the game for me. But I had absolutely nothing against the Dev Team there. I think they are doing a pretty good job.

So why is SWG's Dev Team so crappy? It probably has to do with Lucas Arts. That's the only conclusion I can come to.

Hear, hear! Absolutely!

I guess I wanted to make about about "protests". If you're tired of the game, don't enjoy it anymore, or find that it brings more frustration than enjoyment, then it is time to retire. I'll be leaving SWG if I reach any of the above. If, however, people are quitting because it will bring attention to the "problem of smugglers", then please stay. Leaving obviously won't do anything except force you to find something else with which to fill your SWG time.

I'm just bitching and moaning until my subscription runs out. If by some miracle they start to communicate with us or change their ways, I may resubscribe.

But I'm not going to hold my breath.
