Here are a few numbers for ya:
Sony Corporation
Enterprise Value: $36.69 Billion
Cash Flow from Operations: $646,997,000
Gross Profit for the year ending MAR-05: $1,676,928,000
Net Income for the year ending MAR-05: $163,838,000
Tangible Assets for the year ending MAR-05: $2,120,430,000How concerned about a few upset players in one of their games do you think they are? Anyone making any decisionsis looking at monthly trends... probably new players and total accounts, and a standard cost v. income report -- maybe just the second. As long as those numbers look good, then there will be no dramatic change in operations.
Please don't tell me about "all the people you know are leaving." You don't know the real numbers. Besides, if you and all your friends left the game, it wouldn't register on these reports. Sorry, but in the grand scale of Sony Corporation, Sony Online Entertainment, and even SWG specificaly, the number of smugglers who participate in this forum probably falls within the margin of error when compared to all subscribers. Maybe a bit more, but nothing that is statistically relevant.
Have a nice day.
bad publicity can really give a nice corporation like Sony a shiner. the word is getting out. slowly, but surely.
yes i realize Sony doesn't need SWG to remain successful. hell, they don't even need SOE! but still, bad press is bad press. and when you treat your customers like this, you get bad press.
Aww... it's ok, little fella. You can carry the Torch of Sarcasm™ after I'm gone. I've taught you everything I know, and now it's your turn to fly...

I'm just hoping my $30 a month just happens, by the most fantastic coincidence and by the Power of Greyskull, to fund the toilet paper used in the Producer's gents toilets.
Take that, Smed, you f**king @sshole! Yeah! That was me, cpz! I owned your sh!tty ass, and now you're back at your desk, with a sh!tty, stinky ass because you couldn't wipe properly. And you're praying nobody can smell your crappy behind. That meeting you have in 30 minutes? Yup, they're going to smell you coming. The presentation you've been working on for months? A F**KING WASTE OF TIME because they'll detect your malodourous gasses before you even open your mouth. OWNED!

What really burns me is that I don't have a problem with SOE as a company.
I bought EQ2. I played it for a while, but decided that it wasn't the game for me. But I had absolutely nothing against the Dev Team there. I think they are doing a pretty good job.
So why is SWG's Dev Team so crappy? It probably has to do with Lucas Arts. That's the only conclusion I can come to.
I'm not so sure Lucas Arts is responsible for a crappy dev tTeam. Usually, Mr Lucas is very careful with everything related to him. After all, his products 'wear' his name and if any of 'his' products is crappy, that's bad press for him, don't you think?

I am 100% LA isn't the hiring body of the Dev team. Thats SOE's fortay - LA's role would be to meerely provide the direction and vision that is so sorely lacking in this game.
Oh you are most certainly right dlc.
But it is STILL absolutely NO skin off my back if I never purchase another Sony product of any type.
I don't interact with people that treat me like crap. And I hold everyone from SOE on up through Sony responsible for their actions and lack of actions.
YOU don't have to. You can continue to patronize SOE and Sony as much as you like. I just don't have any NEED to. I don't like the product I've been paying for. I paid for what they PROMISED and they haven't delivered.
Furthermore I don't respect people that make promises then ignore the people they made them to. When I don't respect a company it means I don't respect ANYONE that chooses to work for that company and propigate that type of behavior. There are even certain people at SOE that I will avoid EVER purchasing a product they are involved in.
Yeah, I think we know that SOE doesn't give a f-ing sh*t about a few disgruntled palyers.
In fact I'd BET they would prefer some of us leave so they can get back to properly answer YOUR inquires with "Soon"(TM) and not getting bashed for it.
