Thread: Solo groups and overloaded sabers

As you guys may have known I used to be a bh, but I was sick of all the exploits and it became quite apparent that this game IS and WILL be KOTOR Online. That is what sells and that is what 90% of the people buy the game for and that is all SOE will ever care about.
As most of the older bh know there has never been a time when jedi did not have an exploit to use and most of them used them without abandon.
I am in a guild right now who has quite a few jedi, they dont know my login name or that I was a hated BH. Well one of the big things that has become quite popular in my guild is that jedi will solo group. They taught each other how to overload their sabers and they group up together but get level 82 picket missions and do them solo. Even low level jedi are doing this how? Well they can get a lot of the "good" quality pearls (one guildie has 15 pearls in his saber he claims) and the load them up and tehy can kill a nest of pickets in seconds by themselves.
I also know that they are using overloaded sabers to destroy bh's in PVP that come for them.
I have come to terms with the fact that this is Kotor online and i have cancelled most of my accounts (yes except my jedi account lol)
Oh well thought i would let you guys know.
fyi this is Starcia of BHS guild on Bria. he/she complains about jedi morning day and night. and is often drunk

Umm, you know that Kotor = Offline Single Player game and SWG = Online Multiplayer game right? So your comparision is not especially fair or even realistic.

Ummm... you did get the point of my post, didn't you?
Yes, I just added that its not possible to compare the games in any way.
Indeed... because KotOR didn't have this many Jedi running around.
I guess you think factors like continuity and historical consistency are dependent upon whether the game is single player or multi-player... you should be an SOE dev! ![]()

No, you can't compare a single player game to a mmorpg, its a worlds difference between them.
And I would never be able to stand being a SOE dev, the constant whiningeven when you do good things![]()

I know that the time-line is totaly borked and that jedi is to comon etc.
But here's why you can't compare a SP game with an MMOG:
- MMOG's must change and improve constantly to keep the customers happy (and keep renewing their subs).
SP games just have to sell once and that's it, theymay push outsomebug-fixes and maybe an expansion and keep the customers interested to buy a prequel a few years later. - MMOG's must look to thousands of different peoples needs and wants, in SWG - crafters, entertainers, combatants etc.
SP games is made around a fixed concept with the gameworld centered around one person so they don't need to worry aboutpeople affecting each other in different ways. - Since SP games are centered around one person they don't have any economy to take into consideration, they can have a massive story-line and they can involve the player in a way that MMOG's can't
- Since there is no player-to-player interaction in SP gamesgriefing is non-existent. And cheating is kindaup to the player to decide if he want to do or not but in an MMOG cheating affect other players in a negative way so they have to take that into consideration.
I can go onfor a while here but I think the above show my point. It is a worlds difference because of the difference in complexity of an MMOGand aSP game.

second ... there is a glitch with preCU sabers in that they do not use any action cost whatsoever ... so you can use 0002 channel to turn action into force .. and use your lightsaber without any special action cost ... andconstaly refuel your force with your action ...

Well, SWG hasn't exactly done a stellar job of "improving" their product over the last two years - that's why so many people are not renewing their subs.
Say what you want about differences, but where it matters is sales - KotOR was probably set sales records for the year of its release and the sequel was highly anticipated. SWG has been losing subscribers steadily for the last year, in spite of two expansions and whoring the Jedi to sell copies.
