"if it wasnt for the fact that our marks charge shot us for 1100 dmg i wouldnt wear armor either."

I was actually hit for 1347 dmg of a novice mark using advanced strafe shot, and I was wearing a full set of 72% elec 75% heat 62% the rest, execpt stun of course, and my armor blocked none of it.

As for the scouting, I use the ranger skill of Tracking IV. This is the ONLY effective way to track a player jedi. If the requirements were changed to brawler, there is no way I could use this skill.

Traps that could be used on npc's and players would fullfill the trapping requirement. We do hunt, we do explore, we do survive!

A lot of us look at this as a game and every skill should effect our end game character, however, this is a game designed to simulate a Star Wars environment. You think the bounty hunters out there have only ever hunted humans? They started with gnorts and gubbers like the rest of us! The hunting tree and survival tree is the badge of experience that is needed for a bounty hunter trainer to consider you worthy of training.

Take away the story element of the game, and I wouldn't even play it.

Were we not trying really hard to get some cool BH traps? This would destroy the oportunity for that and truly I think it would be more than helpfull to have some traps that work against people, there is even a sticky on this board for it. So, I truly feel it should stay.

Terrain negotiation worthless? Oh my, pay attention next time you are getting chased by something or someone in dath, not having terrain negotiation would mean instant death. Sure, if all you do in this game is hunt marks and nothing else you may get away with it 90% of the time, but I sure dont want to be just hunting marks. Get some Night sister ranger chasing you and you become very appreciative.

Now, if they dont intend on giving us some nice BH only camp, then that tree could go the way of the dodo for you get basic camps at novice scout.

And, I suppose you could eliminate the need for the hunting line as well (I dont think it is with wayfaring is it?). Although I personaly would keep it for the information you gain on /exame as well as the harvesting bonus. I mean, you can be a killer hunter with any other combat class without the hunting tree, so we could fair well without it to I suppose.

I like the idea of having brauler, but I also like having it the way it is now - a tree or 2, but if I had to master 1 or the other I think scout is far more usefull than brauler over all. Perhaps not for combat, but there is more to this game than that for sure.

This will make BH so unbalanced, its a very bad idea. Warcry 2, Commando Flame 4, and Master BH. Im sorry thats just too uber. Keep the game balanced.

The more I think about it, the more I am against this idea.

IF the question is... should Master Scout be dropped in favor of Master Brawler... the answer, for me, is NO! There is no reason for Bounty Hunters to go around beating people up with our fists or with wooden sticks.

We are NOT thugs .

We are specialists and we are experts in weapons. We are NOT front line tanks that sit up close and take a beating without a care in the world.

We are hunters and we are stalkers. Wehunt and we track our prey. Be it animal, vegetable, mineral, orhumanoid.

What we DO need are3 specific things and I feel these alone may be enough to get us to where we should be and not unbalance the entire system.

1) Add to Investigation Linethe ability to make and use specific traps for humanoids and give us humanoid type TRACK, even if it is a shorter distance than what Rangers get (say 256m). We ARE master scouts after all . Why the heck can I NOT track my mark without a stupid slow droid?

2) And on that note... Fix the BH droids! Make the faster, like they are supposed to be and make then actually TRACK jedi, even if it just to what planet they are on with a small chance of it actually locating the "last known coordinates".

3) EITHER: a) Add ALOT more defenses to our Master box and / or more offensive power (and fix the stupid Fastblast) OR b) adjust the defenses of the other professions so that defenses DO NOT stack for no reason and make it a requirement to have the weapon armed to use that one defense your profession gives you (i.e. to use dodge, you MUST have a pistol armed AND you get no other adds from dodge from any other profession if that pistoleer dodge is the highest value).

These 3 things alone would be enough, I feel AND can be implemented NOW without restructuring the entire BH profession.

NO WAY, let me scout .. i don't want brawler. holy **edit** if you tanks, tell that to the devs .. i'll be sure to quit playing thats for sure.

terrain negociation is invaluable for me.

If bh pre requisit should change .. it should be master marksman - scout 4400 (considering we get humanoïds traps)

First off, my vote is NO!!!!

Now for my reasoning and suggestions:

A Bounty Hunter is, in essence, a person skilled at locating their "target" and capturing or eliminating them depending on the circumstances of their contract. Many skills are required to achieve their goal, and it can be argued that Brawler, Marksman, and Scout skills are required. There are valid arguments for each, and I see no reason to go into them all at this point. However, this is all from a real life perspective.

In all Honesty if you plan to change the prerequisites in game then the only thing that would really make sense (if you are looking at "real life" and using it as a basis) would be:

Master Marksman
Hunting and Exploration From Scout
Unarmed from Brawler

You could easily add trapping as a requirement if you need to have the "skill point sink" that seems to be required, but the above template is the only real one that makes sense. However, I do not see this as being a viable option, as changing the prerequisites would involve a lot of coding, and a lot of bugs I am certain.

I think the only real way to improve our profession has been outlined numerous times by many people, but here is my suggestion:

1) Spread Accuracy and Defense Modifiers throughout the entire profession (yes this means give us some defense bonuses, however minimal they may be) - Basically means all combat related modifers in case that isn't clear

2) Fix Droids so that they work, or (as I would prefer) institute something along the lines of the Tracking Ability the rYsyn (sp?) outlined on these boards not too long ago (I wish I had the link to post here) - I REALLY loved this idea.

3) Fix ALL of our specials - (ok, I don't have any problems with Torso Shot or Sprayshot when they hit, it's just the hitting part that seems to be a problem with those) - Fastblast is a joke, it needs to be revamped, and Fire Knockdown needs attention as I never seem to be able to knock down my oponent (NPC or PC) - All of the specials need HAM costs changed.

4) If you want to go ahead and add new content it needs to build on our current requirements, (i.e. PC and NPC Traps would be ideal, and could be added relatively easily.)

All in all I think the above four points, if fixed, would really help our profession, and they do not seem to be too difficult to do. (Except possibly introducing rYsyn's tracking ideas, which I would really love to see make it in).

Now, some other things that I feel should be added include:

1) A Bounty Hunter only Carbine

2) The PC and NPC trapping suggestion

3) rYsyn's Tracking idea (maybe after mentioning it so many times everyone will get the hint *wink*)

4) Armor certifications - NOT NEW ARMOR - I would have no problems getting new armor styles in the game, but I do not feel there should be Bounty Hunter only armor (Just my two cents and I probably lost some support with this statement)

5) I would prefer the ability to use Stim B's through the use of Modified Clothing, if only the modifiers would work, and this would allow me to drop Novice Medic (all I want is a shirt or something that has +5 Med Use, is that too much to ask?)

I think that about sums up my stance. Hope this gets some attention, and maybe even helps influence getting a few things in the game.

Tanks,

I'm totally aganst such a revamp at this stage, for in my opinon very little gain. I think what the devs should focus on are fixes/additions to the proffesion.

Here is a list (in no particular order) on what I think they should be working on:

1.

Lets try this again....

Here is a list (in no particular order) on what I think they should be working on:

1. Fix the Jedi missions!!

2. Remove the LLC line and replace w/ Rifle specialization (give us a stun rifle)

3. Add Humanoid traps

4. Add additional damage to FastBlast(it should be our best pistol as sprayshot is our best carbine special).

5. Increase difficulty of Bounties at the Investigation IV and Master level.

My two cents...

I think its way to late to change the prerequisite for bounty hunter.

Why doesn't the current proffession get fixed first before we start over from scratch again?
