in fact, the conversations fell silent for a short moment, then picked right back up, they all knew what Jedi were, they knew they existed, knew they were far more powerful than the average gunman, and they knew not to open their big fat mouth and complain about them.

welcome to starwars...stop crying because your hella lame.

Also notice that stormtroopers showed up right after and the jedi master even ran!

Sorry did I give the impression i wanted to be a jedi?

Or even more troubling, you think that people who complain are all just jealous, that it?

But that's the real point isn't it.

Their fun will be over, they will look blankly at each other, all with sabre in hand and then, quite naturally ...all leave. To the next game. leaving Swg gutted and lifeless.

Will they look back and think "you know maybe in the end, those that went on about too many jedis, they were right after all"..., well no of course not. They will have too muchwork grinding their next "I WIN" prof in another mmorg.

The only reason perhaps some are still here is becuase well this mmorg has graced them with a film recentlyshowing these mighty jedis kickin everyones ass, makes their "i am the winn0h!" all that much easier to fantasize.

The probably couldn't give a nats f*rt in a hurricane about starwars,

"But the argument isnt if there are chefs it is if they are shownin the movies. There is not a true "Chef shown" Since the argument is we only see a few Jedi in the movies."

But there is a true chef shown. Sure, he is also a well-informed, knowledgeable, four-armed....creature...but his profession is obviously that of "chef" in the "diner" that he is working at in Attack of the Clones.

Bah whats the point anymore lol!

I don't hate Jedi. I hate that they are in the game because of where the originial timeline was supposed to fall.

I don't hate Jedi. I despise that nearly all high level content requires that a Jedi or even multiple Jedi be present to complete it.

I don't hate Jedi. I hate that publish after publish after patch after patch is nearly centrally focused on balancing an un-balanceable alpha class profession while countless bugs with "normal" professions get completely ignored

I don't hate Jedi. I hate that the Galactic Civil War, after two years, is still a worthless POS in game design.

I don't hate Jedi. I hate that, while great additions to content are added, they areso buggy that they are rendered nearly unplayable.

I don't hate Jedi. I hate that integral parts of the Star Wars lore, such as droids, the Empire, Space Combat and Vehicular combatare little to nothing like they were in any Star Wars movie I have ever seen.

I don't hate Jedi. I hate that Jedi are allowed to be a part of the Empire. An organization ruled by a Sith Master and governed by the Sith Lord that wiped out nearly all of the Old Republics Jedi Knights and Masters.

I don't hate Jedi. I hate that not a single player Jedi I have encountered at anytime made me feel remotely like I was in the presence of a Jedi Knight, Master or Padawan.

As a matter of fact.... I LOVE JEDI...

But they have no place in an MMORPG based on Star Wars set in between A New Hope and the Empire Strikes Back....

then why are you bringing up a Chef that is not is the OT to base an argument on?

This game has no timeline. it may have once but that is long gone.

Well first off, I'm not the one that brought up a chef. You said they weren't in Star Wars and I put forth a few examples of where indeed, they did appear in the films.

Secondly, this game isn't based on 1 or 2 of the Star Wars movies. It is based on ALL of the movies and ALL of the expanded universe was used as well. Everything from "Droid Adventures, to A New Hope, to the countless EU books." All of it was used to create this game. So my Chef example still holds quite true.

The only argumentanyone has for the game not following the original timeline is that there are Jedi running around all over the place and perhaps some of the new content on Kashyyyk.. I can site many reasons as to why the original timeframe of this game hasn't changed one bit. Therefore it is still based between ANH and tESB.

1. The Developers of this game have never said otherwise

2. The Emperor still sits on the throne of the Galactic Empire.

3. Darth Vader is alive and a Sith Lord, not Anakin Skywalker the Jedi Knight.

4. The Death Star isin many pieces in the Yavin system.

5. There is no Death Star in the Endor system.

6. The rebel alliance exists, yet has no base of operations in the Hoth system.

7. The rebel alliance exists, yet is no longer based on Yavin IV either.

8. Luke Skywalker is not a Jedi Knight.

Do I really need to come up with anymore? You can take 2-8 anddebate with me all night if you want to. I'm certain they can be twisted into showing why I am clearly wrong about my statements. What you can't argue with is #1. Sorry, until the developers say otherwise, this game is set in the time period between ANH and tESB. During that period of time in the Star Wars Universe, there was approximately 1Jedi, and he was in hiding because the Empire ruthlessly slaughtered all Jedi they encountered as a rule, by order oftheir Sith Master, Darth Sidious, and their Sith Lord , Darth Vader.

Therfore, the Jedi population is WAY too high. It's very existance in-game is mind-boggling for the timeframe.

So basically what you are saying is that if its in the EU or canon it is ok as long as it is not Jedi.

Ok got it thank you.

There are just as many things in the game to point away from a particular timeframe as there are showing one.

It's not so much that there are too many... its that they are too visible. There needs to be more in-game consequences for gaining visibility.

Something like an "Imperial Crackdown - Phase 2", where squads of level 90 Dark Troopers are dispatched randomly to cities where NPC's have reported Jedi activity.

Flash the glowstick... get outta town before the Lambda shuttle arrives.

I'd say to give 'em weapons that can "wound" the force bar (heal over time) to make dieing at their hands something for even a full temp to avoid.

I have to disagree slightly. I think that one major problem is that there are indeed, too many. Right now I can name probably 50 Jedi Knights off of the top of my head. There are more, and more, and more everyday. And now after the CU, some are saying that the grind is even easier.
