Would it though,

Would it be that impossible to be alot more like the films?

Come on seriously, if you could play swg and say truthfully to someone yeah just like the films really, would thatreally be a bad thing?

The reason it isn't is money. films are dumbed down these days for kids due to that very fact.

Sony are concearned with the profit margin more than pleasing starwars fans.

To truly cut down the jedi population or get something more harsh done, sony would have to see a very rapid decline in accounts and the reason being too many jedi, but as probably an incredably high ammount of accounts are there only because they can be jedi.

Well it's a pickle of a situationI'll say that much.

It is impossible for one simple reason. People make up this game. People who do not share the same ideals and values that you share. We are each independent of one another. We each see things differently, and what might work for you, would not work for another. What you perceive as the "proper" way to play a Jedi, may in fact not be perceived the same from a different pov. We must take all these perceptions, and merge them into a world where not everyone sees the same, beleives the same. We are each different, and that is reflected in our gameplay.

This is not a scripted game. It is very open ended, hence the "online gameplay may change" messages.

Agreed, but in-game systems influence in-game behaviour. No one is arguing for CONFINING behaviour, but there should be disincentives to behaviour that detracts from the game setting.

Does anyone argue that the number of overt Jedi detracts from non-Jedi's enjoyment of the GCW?

Jedi is either end-game content... in which case everyone will eventually have one and the rest of the game will be obsolete... or its special trophy reward content... in which case limits on behaviour that impacts the rest of the game is perfectly appropriate.

I think Jedi are trophy characters. And I think those limits should be "soft" ones that provide penalties and disincentives appropriate to the background setting.

YMMV.

I think the jedi toon is a lesson learned for any company that plans to take on the sequel of the game, which is sure to come.

I always felt that jedi should be a special toon that was decided at character creation. It should have a ratio of some 1000:1that were actuallyeligible to unlock it, and even then the toon that was preselected to open should have a built in combination that must be made for the unlock. The point of this is while some people would be eligible at character creation for a jedi, unfortunately only few people would actually unlock it.

Example of this is 200000 people play, 250 eligible to unlock, 2 unlock.

Thus keeping Jedi very, very rare. Then they could also be as uber as the devs want them to be.

You know.

It gets a bit pathetic when two jedis, start trying to make their crap sound logical, even though it's painfully obvious they are doing nothing lol but simply defending the fact that they are infact jedi in swg, and in no way is it a bad thing, I mean it can't be can it not if they have slaved for hours to get to jedi status.

As for what we wouldnt see etc. That list was pathetic.I said more like the films, perhaps i should have said books too, welcome additions and classes that are or are notevident in the movies are not bad things.

See all those classes are great and add to the the game,

What you saying YOU being a jedi adds to everyones game too?

Truth is you could keep all the clases you claim would go, say this game is like the movies moreand no one would complain. And you know it!

Oh and You cant use "it's a game grow up stop whiningblah blah" when someone rightly says there are far too many jedis.

Too many jedi will ruin swg. I've not seen one post yet explaining the good side of an ever growing mass populus of jedi.

Why i bet at least 3 new jedishave sprung up this very night as I type.

I wonder how many get bored of MBH becuase it's tough each day, and how many give up jedi. Then tell me yeah there's too many MBH too, of course there are, BECUASE THIS MEANS TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE HUNTING YOU DOWN EACH DAY.

My god you knowI give you my sympathy must be a right**** when you're showing off to the noobs and a MBH ruins all your fun, tearing right through your L33Tness as he stands over your newly gray nametagged body.

You know what when I watched episode 3 in the cinema, and those jed's were getting cut down,I actually cheered.

"BH vs. Jedi nothing to do with the movies"... If episode 2 and 3 shown anything it was a tension between the two and why exactly do you think that is?

"always a pleasure to meet a jedi".

You want it to be in a certain timeline, and frame. There is alot more to this game that is not in either that you care to admit.

This game follows no timeline. The timeline ceased about 1.5 years ago when the crys of alderaan went away.

You are trying to justify your "jedi Hate" based on a game. This game if made to specs of the exact timeline/frame would not be very interesting. You are the one with the justification issues.

making blanket generalizations about Jedi "Showoing off" shows how rediculously out of sync you really are. You love to hate,a nd if Jedi was taken out of the game tomorrow you would find something else to cry about.Nerf callers, and Jedi Haters have one thing in common. There will always be somethingthat you deem to not be needed, or wanted in this game, and willgo to extreem means to get rid of it. Throwing out the standard rhetotical arguments that Nerfcallers/Haters have been usign forthelast 1.5 years. Come up with some new ideas instead of riding on the backsof the people that camebefore you.

Look.

Too many jedis.

Understand it's that plain and simple. I dont hate jedi, swg wouldnt be the same without ANY jedi, back in april 2004 the way things were was fine, but nothere's too many, it's getting stupid.

END OF.

here are a few of the things that you would not see if they werre based solely on the Movies.

TKA - You got me here. Never been quite sure where TKA came from in the first place...

Chefs - I clearly watched Obi-Wan Kenobi talking to a chef in one of the Movies. I also watched Yoda and Luke's Aunt both cook. Everyone has to eat..

Swordsmen -Always gets me when I see people say melee weapons don't belong in a Star Wars Game. Melee weapons existanywhere there are people that need weapons. It is a natural instinct to pick up a stick when you have noother weapon available. While I have only seen laser swords in Star Wars, I have seen other melee weapons used on more than oneoccasion in the films.

Pikemen -See above, but there is clear use of Pikes in both Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi.

Medic -Medicine use is alluded too on more than one occasion. Sure droids were used in the movies, but someone with medical knowledge had to program them right?

Architect -There are structures in the movies. Someone had to build them. I'm guessing they were architects

armorsmith -Armor is worn in all of the movies by various persons throughout. Someone had to make that armor. My guess, if it were expected to be useful to the person, is that it was made by an armorsmith.

bioengineer- You got me here, although technically, the Caminoan cloners could be considered bio-engineers

Dathomir- Not in the movies. Can't argue this one.

Talus- Same as Dathomir

Coronet- I'm assuming you mean Corellia. While, no, it isn't visited in any movie, it is alluded to by one Mr.Han Solo when describing the Millenium Falcon to Obi-Wan and Luke in the Cantina.

Naboo- This one perplexed me quite a bit since Naboo appears in or is mentioned inall three prequels. Was it in ANH or ESB? No, not even mentioned. Is this game based soley on ANH or ESB? Well...obviously not...I see no fewer than 5 Jedi dueling in every Populated NPC city I visit, including Theed, which for all intent and purpose of this game, is the Heart of Imperial power.

Rori- Same as Dathomir and Talus and I cant explain why they added any of those planets either.

My opinion, is there are Jedi and that is a problem considering the timeline of this game in relation to the timeline of what the game is supposed to be based on. Will Jedi be going anywhere? Well, though I would love to see them all deleted myself, even though I am persuing one myself, they won't be going anywhere ever. Why? SOE's love of money is greater than their love of making a great game. They do not care that they have taken what once was a great idea , a MMORPG based on Star Wars set during a specific time period, and ruined it for pretty much any fan that wanted to "Live in the Star Wars Universe." So long as people are willing to cough up 15$ a month to play this bug-ridden, continuity killing, often completely un-fun excuse for a Star Wars game, Jedi will go nowhere. The flip side of that , is when people finally do start talking with their wallets, this game will be shut down for good. Hopefully, a game designer that is also a star wars fan will take up the reins and create the SW MMORPG I know many of the Die hard Star Wars fans are still waiting to play....

But the argument isnt if there are chefs it is if they are shownin the movies. There is not a true "Chef shown" Since the argument is we only see a few Jedi in the movies.

Same as the chef,a nd yes my bad I always call corellia coronet since that is the only place I go on that planet.

Naboo- This one perplexed me quite a bit since Naboo appears in or is mentioned inall three prequels. Was it in ANH or ESB? No, not even mentioned. Is this game based soley on ANH or ESB? I dont argue canon since this game is as far from canon as you can get. and as shown above if we only played canon there would not be much to do.

Well. As I said. I should have said books and movies.

Dathomir is indeed mentioned in the books. So are primiyte swords (whiphids use them on their home world for example, as well as vibro blades, and sword are also in KOTOR if i'm not mistaken).

Same with talus and rori, read the books great stories including each, failing that just use youre starwars encylcopedia.

look.

If you wanted to talk of something that's new at least say comp armour, becuase that's brand new to my knowladge.

There is no justification for the jedi here.

TOO many jedi, jesus never mind not being good for starwars timelines and all that, it aint good for the game either.

THERE IS NO GOOD REASON FOR A JEDI MASSPOPULATION. NONE!

Although some mbh may disagree
