the current system is good, its just the jedi playstile that is messed up, they exploit all their avoidance tactics and network that information with other jedi so eventually they all use em.

I really think it needs to keep track of kills and add some rewards, even if the xp loss stays forever, adding the rewards will encourage less jedi running away and more PvP BH vs Jedi.

OK, we get the idea... you love your concept and you really don't want to hear about anything that will actually bring about the changes we all desire, you just want to hear about ways to implement your concept.

Not at all but I have heard few ideas....the only thing I am hearing is perma death and pop control. Where are other ideas? I am talking about Jedi's being encouraged to fight more. I missed the other ideas , point them out please. If you bring in perma death you will never be able to hunt Jedi....yeah that is good one ...

jedi rule:

assumed chance of winning 85%+::Stand and fight
---------------------------------------
assumed chance of winning less than 85%:: Run/swim(whatever it takes to get outta dodge)

i also am against this idea, as i am an avid advocate of bringing PERMA Death back - each time they decrease the death penalty of jedi, therefore decreasing the "aura" that surronds the class that is supposed to be "fabled"

this game has become "jedi wars" more and more - peolpe that arent jedi or BH's quickly lose interest because there is no place for them in pvp, therefore there is no place for them in the GCW - loot quickly gets boring, and they are left to do nothing but either quit, go jedi, or go BH.

and with the decrease of jedi-death penalty, and the influx of jedi's in the server, as with the increase of ease that comes with attaining jedi - they lose the "right" to be over powered, and therefore make the reason to go jedi, not something that is attained for "uniqueness" but simply for a different set of skills and abilities, no better than a CM 4000 (depending on the equipment, and pvp experience)

a system that rewards BH's with trivial items (while it would be nice) is also not-needed, it only beckons more people to its profession, ALSO decreasing the "rarity" of it and therefore it too eventually will receive a larger nerf bat than it already has in recent publishes

the only reason that jedi is being made easier is because SOE sold itself out to make more money - "give everyone a lightstick and they will buy every expansions we throw at them 3 times over - they'll spend months grinding to become a jedi, which gives us all of the money in registered account expenses - $$$$$$$$"

for this very reason, i will never buy another game that has the SOE label on it

it's a fairly well thought out idea man, but in the end, it goes the opposite way that this game SHOULD go - try thinking like someone that wants the best for the game, and not someone that wants to weaken the game for the sake of making more $, which is what your idea does whether you realize it or not

Aeschyl as a legendary BH that you are I respect your opinion greatly, but I am just trying to figure out ways to get some of the Jedi 's to fight and this is increasingly becoming a complaint from many other BHs.. At the rate I went this weekend I will never reach a score like yours even if I play5 more years...

On the flip side there is no reason for a Jedi to fight a BH...none, why not keep xp loss but set up a reward system? Also wouldn't perma death mean even less hunting for a BH?

Oh please do not correct me, i said it DID back in teh days when we had holo grinding and perma death i know its past tense and as i said earlier we should bring it back.

you do realize, also, that if perma-death were still in place, there would be just as many jedi running around, with all that power they had back then. Risk vs Reward man. Think about it. This game is two years old. You can't expect a game like this to run for so long without a lot of people becmong an alpha class. So saying bring back perma-death is pointless.

no perma death would = MORe hunting

the jedi would not "die" per-se - they simply lose all of their skills/xp and become an initiate again - therefore they would have to re-grind their entire template, which means MORE hunting

And how many times do you suppose jedi would grind out their templates? Maybe once or twice. After that, cancellations start happening.

Perma-death would maybe work if the jedi could gain XP at normal/non-jedi rates after death..

Mhm. Sure, I agree and support fully. But only when there is permadeath for BH, including all items loss from all chars and stuff. Yup, that would be nice. Many jedi would be happy to get rid of your kind

Ok so insted of Perma-Death, how about a time penility where if they die they lose 4 hours of being able to log in. they do have another character slot so this dose not mean that they cannot play just that they cannot play that toon.

The reason that XP loss was first introduced was so that a BH friend and a Jedi friend could not simply DB without any consequence allowing them both to cheat the game and rake in credits. Jedi names are no longer part of the bounty hunter terminals. This allows us an opportunity to step back and to re- examine XP loss. ....

...At 150 Kills you get an ADK kit.

It would take less time to sit at a BH terminal, in a PC city, with a Jedi friend and get missions tabbing to see if he is your mission than the time it takes to launch an Arkayd.

There would bemany people that would do this to get the money and ADK.

the only answer left is to make jedi AS powerful as everyone else. every jedi that is mad that they cant own everyone stops playing the jedi. every other jedi has fun playing a jedi. no XP loss since it seems to be a lost cause with SOE anyway.

no whining alpha classes anymore! learn the lesson DEVs.
