Ok but you do understand that it will never happen right? i mean not in a baziilion years. SOE let the genie out of the bottle, it's too late for that.

I understand what you are saying but it's not reality now. SWG has too many subscirbers that are jedi. Let's play with "realistic" scenarios at this point . Saying bring back perma death is too late. The Jedi population is what it is, let's work with what the reality is now and make the game more fun.

There's no reason we can't bring it back. They HAVE their Jedi... whether or not they keep their Jedi depends on whether or not they can learn to be discreet. This will ensure that those who continue to enjoy their Jedi have earned that privilege.

Saber TEF and Permadeath worked - that's why Jedi whined until they were removed. I don't consider any "realistic" scenario to be one where a class can have all the perks but none of the drawbacks.

No XP loss would make a jedi fightyes, but in the long run it will make more jediPvP with the GCW. I dont know if you have played factions as a overt, but that is out of controll big time. I was overt along with a few guildies, then off in the distance I see.. literally countless jedi and like 2 riflemen coming after us. IMO it should be countless ranged professions and a countable number of jedi. Eliminating XP loss will only make jedi easier to get. Im sorry if you dont believe that, but it is true. I know certain jedi who log out for long periods of time after they get killed because they dont feel like re grinding the amount of XP they lose.

Tash, then we have to figure out another drawback because XP loss is useless for both sides. Perma death is never coming back, so I am all ears....

I already said it once in this thread, you still kept a jedi character, you just had to make a new one from scratch.

permadeath didn't stop people that had accomplished the jedi grind from being a jedi. They just had to make a new char.

Just make jedi not able to group with one and other, that would solve alot of the problems. It would also force them to be more of what a jedi should be.

OK, well I am seeing its hard to keep this thread on track. LET'S ASSUME EVERYTHING STAYS LIKE IT IS, (humor me please) anyone have any ideas on how to make the current system better. Even if we keep XP loss, how about keeping track of kills and rewards for both sides?

It's the concept of reinforcement. The individual eventually either learns to correct the behaviors that led to loss, or abandons the effort entirely. Regardless of the fact that there are countless examples in the real world, it's proven to work in SWG and other games as well.

The whole underlying problem with Jedi in SWG is that Jedi players behave however they like, with no regard for consequence. Implement significant consequences that encourage the desired behavior - that being, discreet behavior by Jedi.

Obi-Wan stayed off the terminals for 20 years, then one day he flashed his saber in a cantina and he was dead the next day.

the current system is good, its just the jedi playstile that is messed up, they exploit all their avoidance tactics and network that information with other jedi so eventually they all use em.

jedi are about the most paranoid players in any game that i know of. " OMG! Luke did you see that blue dot?" " you better pop a house down and go in it till we see if that dot is a bh or not"
