Thread: What will you do when all the jedi quit?

Hmmm, again from the outside looking in that is pretty harsh. I'd think anyone witnessing any of that would have to manually request a mission be placed on a BH terminal, rather than it automagically happening.

I love the "I am a jedi" thing! hahahaha

Around 140k is when they start droping there elite profession to make way for more jedi tree's. I'm not trying to be rude to you. i'm also not trying tob*itch or anything. But i don't think any of you will understand the fustration you guys put us threw. There are jedi knights who wish bounty hunters would come after them and there are padawans who totally wish they could be left alone.

Well then you and I agree more then we disagree

I have no desire to grief other players... Especially ones who are not an even match. Personally, giving Jedi a means to grind SLOWLY up the Jedi tree in peace is fine with me as long as, at some point, they are forced out of the "safe haven" and into the realms of the BH. Such a point cannot be when they are at their strongest BTW.

Some middle ground where Jedi Padawans have the option to grind slowly in peace with no risk (it would have to be much slower then what they could do outside of the temple). Then, when they are strong enough (before UbEr) they are kicked out.

Fix the bugs that exist now with BH and the trails and I would be a happy camper. I'm not one of those BH that wants Jedi to be impossible and I'm not a Jedi hater... I'm only a hater of Jedi who want it easy and fast. I only want Jedi to be balanced and difficult to obtain. I want there to be a reason not be be a Jedi so as to prevent EVERYONE from being a Jedi.

One other option I would be fine with is to take away Jedi exp loss and instead lock the rate in which Jedi can advance. Instead of having it possible to grind up a full template in 2 weeks, make it so that no matter what it takes 6months to 1year to max out your Jedi pts. Exp loss is just a way to slow down Jedi from powergrinding to full Knights.... I'm all for options as long as the outcome stays the same

I agree i'd be totally fine with locking exp. If a bh kills me i think that should force me not to gain exp for a few hours. I'd honestly be thrilled with that. It would provide the same sting and get rid of most of the hate at the same time. I havn't lost anything i just can't gain anything, this would allow bounty hunters to control the jedi's state of growth. This could be a bit much to ask tho lol.

Again though...I go back to the same point... "You knew what you were getting into when you decided to be a jedi, and at the time you were willing to accept the risks inherent to being a jedi."

The venom of the jedi should not be directed at the BH, but at SOE. Who people choose to hunt is up to them, I wont draw judgements there, but I see Paddy's sending hate tells toBH to the effect of "real hard to kill someone who's just started jedi". Hey, not the BH's concern, if it's easy, and he does it, more power to him. It's on the paddy for being on the terminal.

If getting the XP jedi need is that difficult, then they need to complain to SOE, not to bounty hunters. Calling BH's names doesnt solve anything, they're just playing the game the way SOE set it up.

Do I think that jedi have it hard ? Sure, in fact, I'm working up my a FS character myself.

Here's the deal though....as a bounty hunter with a FS alt, I do support a few things. Change the system to make it a little harder for paddy's to get on the boardor leave that the same, and give them a chance to earn XP more efficiently solo. Once hunted and killed, give them 3 or 5 days of free-grouping that wont put them on the board...something like that.

There SHOULD be less less jedi in the world than there are, and making them hunted makes them harder to play. People who play smart, and are willing to invest the time should still achieve full templated Jedi, and they should be able to reap the rewards. As long as it's as easy as it is to get FS, then let's make the jedi path a bit more challenging.

more food for thought:
As well as already sugested ideas when a jedi kills a BH he recieveds exp, if he isa paddy and the BH is fully temped a fair amount. and if he is a master and the Bh is of low lvl then small exp.

Now some say 'but the jedi will expliot by getting there BH friends to hunt them"

Limit the amount a jedi gets hunted. also the exp would never be over say 30-40k. and if the jedi can say be hunted only twice a day...

This combined with only being able to say learn one skill per week (the ability to stack up tho, so if week 1 you learn nothing week 2 you can learn two things provided you have nuff exp)

Yeah but you know everything in this game for the last year and a half has been about jedi. I dont mean just the publishes and patches, but ever since the HOLOCRONs appeared everything has centered around jedi. The way to grind, the crafted goods, the buffs, the AFK play, etc... Then we had the village and he we are now with tons of jedi around. Of course not everyone wants to be one, but it is like the binding of a great big book that is SWG. The reason this game is a failure is that they never truly developed what could have been the greatest thing in the game and that is the Galactic Civil War. Why couldnt this be developed around normal players. Lets face it in this time period in SW there were only a few jedi, ok yeah big deal whether there are 3 or 300, but the real beauty of Episodes 4-6 is that it took a bunch of normal non jedi folks to take down the Empire. Sure Luke did some pivotal stuff, but he didnt win the war.

My point is the jedi profession in this game sucks, it has made the game worse, it has made this game about grinding. I mean look at our big rewards now DOUBLE XP, woohoo, holy sh1t I dont need XP thank you very much. I am almost half tempted to finish the village just because it is the only left for me to do in this game aside from killing jedi. Then you have the jedi profession which changes more than CSR opinion.

So why do we have all these jedi? I dont even know, why was it even an option, why the hell does everyone think jedi are so great. I dont mean in the game, I mean in the whole SWU. I bought KOTOR because it looked like fun. I didnt even care to be a jedi, I just thought, something set in old timey SW times, that sounds pretty neat.

In conclusion this game should be about fighting the GCW, that is what the movies were about, normal people fighting death stars, star destroyers, ATATs, storm troopers, tie fighters. If they wanted all this jedi stuff they should have set it in the first 2 episodes.

If SOE instated something like you described (no exp loss, just cant gain exp) **and** capped max skill pts progression per server cycle (like in the trials) I would be totally cool with it.

I think the current system can be abused to where Jedi do feel griefed and that is something I'm 110% against. I dont want any player to be griefed as, in the end, this is a game we all spend $15 a month for

However, due to the nature of the kind of players Jedi can attract, we must be careful to limit Jedi #s and growth so Jedi arent the ones griefing other players

To answer the original question..."What will you do when all the jedi quit?".

Let me list the ways...

1) Enjoy the GCW as it was and should be.

The GCW was all about jedi leading the charge. Just not in this timeline.

2) Get about 90% of my PA that quit out of frustration because of Jedi, back in the game.

Your PA quit becouse of the old jedi, the jedi now are no where near as strong as they was when they first joined the game and they didn't wana tough it out like most of us did. How many left becouse of the CU? i bet alot, why? becouse they couldn't stand grouping more then likely. that or they felt uber before with 90% composite and a k.blaster or any other godly weapon you can think of. "omg stun damage no longer exists?!"

3) Be able to read the BH boards without a bunch of whiney, spoon-fed Trolls.

thats going to happen anyways, people are just focusing on jedi atm. I remember when everyone complained about Ch's and complained about 3 at-st's out at once. Complained about Teras kasi solo ability.. Complained about swordsman abilities. It's human nature to go to the next best thing.. which will be you..

4) Enjoy the immersion of the Timeline that the game is supposed to be taking place in.

I agree with this. Personally i believe SOE should have moved the timeline to ep 7 which would have made sense if they was going to add jedi.. they lacked a bit of forsight...

5) Possibly think it was cool to see a Jedi knowing they are RARE.

Jedi was rare, Force sensitive beings was not. Jedi should not have been allowed in the game but getting force sensitive should give you force abilties. Jedi doesn't teach you to make the lightsaber the force teaches you to make the lightsaber but without guidance building the lightsaber would be really hard. which is how i think it should be.

6) Have some serious fun hunting Smugglers...who I give much respect for.

I agree bounty hunters should hunt smugglers,Force sensitive peoplewas not so much hunted as far as i remember in this timeline.. hell some worked for the emporer, mara jade.. and alot of other people i can't remember. i know there was a polititian that used the force to aid him. stuff like that

7) Rejoice in knowing I never have to go back to Kashyyyk.

Maybe if the system wasn't screwed up we wouldn't need to hide on kashyyk and maybe make you work for your money.

8) Talk about how great it is there are no more Jedi

maybe you shouldn't be playing swg.. seriously.. go play world of warcraft this game obviously isn't for you..Starwars without jedi.. is nothing but a kungfu western.

9) Maybe be able to loot a SAE without seeing a dozen Jedi camping the spawns.

no comment. i know i havn't been camping a think since i became jedi it's to dangerous to be standing around in the open...

10) Reminisce about how bad it sucked back when there where Jedi.

again read number 8. this game isn't for you.

11) Maybe get in a group where someone forgets their super powers aggro half the planet.

.. er.. what? seriously? explain this.

12) Might just /dance spontaniously for no reason out of sheer glee

ya.. number 8 again ktnx

......Should I go on?

keep going, your hate is misplaced there are people you are effecting.

these are the ways to get vis that i know of

also if you say "i am a jedi" next to a stormtrooper they will come and kill you which is kinda funny lol.

So if you're out in the boonies grinding solo and you use force powers (when there are no other players around), you get listed?
