It kind of depends what you like to, in regards to speed and power. I have both a DX2 and DL-44. I tend to favor my DL-44 despite its damage rate, cant remember it atm, but it is like 1.7 speed. While my DX2 is 2ish speed. I use my DL-44 in all situations and it has poven well...

And on the case of the DX2 what are you guys talking about? I rarely miss with my DX2 I say I get a hit like everytime I use it (but than again I have the Ranged Support Tree), and miss like once every 3 or 4 npcs; its a great gun, just a little slow for my taste.

As so many people here have mentioned, choosing a weapon should depend on what you are fighting. Knowing the armor level and resistances of a creature can be the difference between an easy kill and an impossible feat. For this reason, I visit with master weaponsmiths as often as I can, and purchase new weapons. I also carry 4 pistols in my task bar at any given time, along with several other weapons. The best "max damage" is rarely the best tool for a job. if a creature has no armor and heat resists, any ap1 weapon will give you a bonus of 25% in damage. if it has low or no heat resistances, the fwg5 is the gun to go with, if you have a good damge, pre-nerf version.

With experience you will learn to quickly examine and choose a weapon. it becomes automatic after a while.

so, what is our favorite pistol? for me, all of them. or, the one that gets the job done.

best pistol for what class?

for smuggler/pistoleer the new modified rep blasters with the DoT are awesome.

best still is the pre-nerf krayt enhanced fwg5.

i currently use a enhanced tangle, adv modified rep blaster w/ DoT, featherweight fwg5 or pre-nerf, adv dx2.

the dx2 is the best hands down.

then scatter

then launcher pistol or fwg5 its pretty close

but this is just my opinion republican blaster is good but its not the best and sure is not the fastest

bounty hunter. but its impossable to be novice bounty hunter and master smuggler so dont think about it unless you are just dabbling in smuggler. DX2 from pistoleer is in fact alot better, being acid its strong vs most of the higher mobs like pikets that feed ya 3.2k exp per and dont db

I looted a CDEF pistol off of a spice fiend a long time ago. It's like 12-32 damage. I've never used anything else.

Getting the pistol lines in Smuggler was tough, but I got through it. Man, that took a long time. Glad thats over. Man, if SOE ever added a gun better than a CDEF, I'd quit.

I think some of you have your damage ranges wrong. Must have added some zeros or something. I dunno.

Mine justBARELY beets that LOL

I got a CDEF Pistol (regular crappy speed and damage) with a MIND FIRE dot.... and best of all... its got -1 uses left (infinite) . Around 120 strength 60sec duration.

That a mean CDEF I'd say. I use it all the time ! LMAO

Better have Muon AND Brandy ready if I get ya with that sucker.

WOW!!!! What did you need to kill to get those pistols? D18...that sounds UBER KEWL DEWD! Did you have to kill a Jedi for that? Wow, I guess you have to master like 10 or 12 professions in order to face something that drops that huh? I mean, to get that,I would think you'd need to be a Master BH/TK/Fencer/Pistoleer/Commando/Smuggler/Doctor/Combat Medic and probably some other stuff. AND DONT TELL ME YOU CANT DO THAT, I SAW SOME GUY WITH ALL THOSE TITLES AND MORE ON HIS EXAMINE THING, SO HE HAD ALL OF THEM!!!!!
