Thread: Best Carbine?

Right now I'm using the quested Proton Carbine. It seems to be the best carbine in the game for a MBH so far. I'm guessing, from what I can tell that its not a player craftable weapon. So, what is the next best carbine for a MBH/MCB to use? I've searched the bazaar and the only other carbine with stats as good as the proton is for MSL's.

I've got a near 1000 max (e11?) carbine on my alt.. from what i've seen is that the proton is like 800?

Damage is nice, but mostly I just care about SAC. I hate seeing the ~Too Tired~ message above my head when I'm trying to drop a blind, or dizzy, or stun on my target, or a KD or root when it's most needed. Action / Damage ratio is what I feel is most important.

The proton is not bad. Problem is it will never be great. Its a loot weapon. The best carbines I have seen have all been Elites. Some of the Czerkas are extremely nice as well, and some of the E11s are also nice, but overall the majority of the high end carbines seem to be Elites. Of course it will vary from server to server. On my server right now finding a carbine that is better than the proton is not hard, but the previous posters were correct in stating that it isnt cheap. Getting the really nice enhanced Elites will cost a small fortune.
If you dont have millions to spend, the Proton is a damn nice weapon. If you are on a budget but still want a custom weapon, I would go with a Czerka. You can hunt the gorax shards yourself without too much trouble. They can be soloed, but a two man team is better and faster. You will need six identical. A Czerka will cut straight through a PSG, so I would experiment on SAC first...get it down to 80 or so, and then pour everything else into damage. This was the recommendation of my WS, and he did an amazing job with my Czerka.

I have a proton carbine sliced. With a speed pup on it I had .086 speed, mod dps 814.00 with max damage 855.
I have a E11 with max damage at 1100 but the dps is only at 750. I choose the proton over the E11 due to the higher dps.

You should test both guns against a creature. Kill two identical creatures, 1 with each gun, use the same combo of specials in each case. Then calculate your actual dps using the combat spam and time it takes to kill. You may be surprised which is the better gun.

I have 4 Mark IIs with about 950 max damage, +17 accuracyand a SAC of 75. Bought them dirt cheap too.

my Elite carbine is around 1050 max damage with a 73 SAC... I love it
