No, the Jedi could mass exodus and this game would go on. You myfriend, severly underestimate the draw of the Star Wars franchise, but, whatever helps you sleep better at night. =\
In the end, I think if you really got to the bottom line, I think you'd be amazed - I think you'd find that more of us would be interested in hunting smugglers than Jedi, and ironically enough, more smugglers (than Jedi) are actually interested in BEING hunted.
One day, if SOE ever wises up and institutes ACTUAL smuggling with ACTUAL consequences (i.e. player bounties), I'd wager you and all your Jedi buds will be free to skip through the fields of Correlia, sabers ignited unfettered and unmolested as the rest of the player base merrily forsakes this bastardization of the timline in favor of some real Star Wars action.

I'm tempted to go Jedi, just to grind in privacy and fill out my template without ever having a single Bounty placed on my head. Of course, that would require me to play a Jedi, which I have no desire to do, and still wouldn't silence the bickering and pointless forum trolling that goes on around here. =\
The game is 2 years old, the poor customer service is well documented, it's pretty safe to say there aren't going to be any massive influxes of new subscriptions. And if I'm wrong, Well I don't really care.
If the majority of the player base did a "mass exodus" the game would cost more than it brings in - effectively shutting it down. So if it is as people say and jedi are up there in numbers in terms of what characters the majority of people either play, or are aspiring to play (how many groups have you been in where at least half of the non-jedi where making village runs?) and they quit due to being nerfed into being unplayable or were removed entirely you would have a bunch of people who paid money and sunk time into something for absolutely nothing. I think you grossly underestimate the value of the bulk of the player base.
Let me see...Crafters don't get anything from Jedi. They wouldn't leave. Anyone that played this game for the GCW would be be so happy to see Jedi go that they might have to stop playing for a while to regain their strength from all the partying they would be doing the first few weeks. The people you refer to making the village runs are doing so becasue Jedi is now so dang easy compared to before that anyone can do it. The village is nice content, and for those bored becasue they GCW is lacking and Smuggler isnt smuggling, and they have killed their 100th Jedi and want to see how the other half live - the village is a distraction.
Its time for a little realty check. There are people that have been Jedi from as soon as they were able, and they would stay Jedi until the servers are shut down for good. These are the guys that were Master in the FRS and will always be Masters. Those intrepid few will quickly convince the Devs (after you minnions leave) to go to a Master-Padawansystem that keeps the Jedi numbers low. The "new" Jedi will probably have a PvP requirement, and the Master would decide if thier Padawan was improving in PvP enough for further advancemet. The Jedi that came from the ashes of your departure would RELISH the BH coming after them. GCW would love the New Jedi, becasue they would be rare and powerful, a real asset instead of the spotlight.
Thousands have left the game becasue of the Jedi, or they became Jedi since they couldnt beat them. You would be quickly replaced.

Oh, spoken like a Prequel Noob to the Star Wars Universe. So all the Jedi dialogue in the 2 trilogies was Cinematic brilliance, right? Please. It was the Jedi who really ruined who ruined it. Every LS scene had to be bigger, better, more intense. The drama was washed away by the corporate kowtowing. Nowadays kids can't even look at the Empire Strikes Back's terrific LS scene between Luke and Vader without disgust that nobody is flipping around and spinning their saber a thousand times for effect. In combat you don't waste energy impressing your opponent with your LS kata.
Compare the space battle in Star Wars ANH, to that pile of sith in ROTS. What a joke the franchise has become. Saturday morning cartoons have more character depth. The movies are really just a demo reel for LucasArts to sell their technology to other movie makers.
And as far as the game goes, you Jedi are nothing but Alpha classes with glow bats. Your not the Jedi of the movies. "Light" Jedi are in spinner groups with "Dark" Jedi. There is no roll playing, and you can't even accept that your persona non grata in the Emperor's Universe, so therefore you are hunted. I say again, please, please quit. Other posters are right. If we had multi-planet smuggler hunts that incorporated space zones, nobody would give two cents for guardians of peace, justice and griefing in the Universe.

Couldn't of sucked that much to get onto the council, could he?.. You need to get it through your block head not all jedi are super hero combatants, they were mostly negioaters,keepers of the peace not soldiers.
About all the council was wiped out by normal Clones, I.E Jango Clones which werent even mandalorian.
