I have to say, I completely agree with MagusZ... The BH profession is a special class which should have skills, traps and defense to be self sufficient. I would rather have traps than skill points, but hey... I will use the 81 to my advantage, that is for sure.

Now /this/ is what I'm talking about. The devs have had to put up with an awful lot of flak from this forum(in addition to all the others). My biggest complaint out of all the problems that the Bounty Hunter profession faces is the fact that we can hardly ever get a nod of acknowledgement on our issues. Yes, we know there are many problems with the game. We respect that, even when the majority of our vocal members on the forum do not represent it. We understand that coding issues can crop in millions of different subtle ways, and can be an absolute nightmare to track down, let alone fix. In the past few months however, the Dev team has done an outstanding job of keeping the community informed. We know that we've been heard, and we know that our issues have(at least in some form for now) been addressed. I for one no longer feel forgotten, and that's the part that sucked worst of all. So thank you for your time, JustG. I've read the board and I know how frustrating the non-stop stream of complaints and griping is, but you've made at least one MBH extremely happy just by letting me know what's up. Thanks for breathing life into an old Star Wars geek's dreams, and keep up the fantastic work.

Look folks...I know we are so starved right now as a profession, that a cracker seems like a feast. But remember SOE owes us a little attention, playing with a broken profession for a year is unacceptable.
JustG is smoothing your feathers..don't start singing his names in the streets just yet.
The profession has been lied to as proved by others in this thread. We have not only been lied to, but ignored, and nerfed several times to the point that we are a joke to the game.
I'm not being unappreciative, but like everyone else, I've paid my money, now I wanna see some results. And I'm not believe a thing said by SOE until I see it in the game...got that SOE?...IN THE GAME.
Those of you who haven't complained about this profession, and think I am being hard on SOE, have allowed themselves to be duped into a state of numbness. Would you play a broken game for a year? Better yet...would you keep paying for it month after month? I left BH to do other things, and recently came back to see the shambles it is now...unbelievable how there are still any BH left after what SOE did to us.
JustG, all I can say to you is this....this thread has enough info/input so the devscanfix BH. Best thing to do is stay quiet, complete the revamp, and let us know when it hits test center. Action my friend...is what we want to see...not words.

Another reason why this might be a bad idea in the long run JustG-
BH 2040/Commando 0100/Smuggler 0100/Novice SL/Novice BE/Pistoleer 0040
With that template one person can take out a base and he/she willstill has skill points left over.
As I said before- This is not the way to do things JustG. I just don't see how this will benefit the BH profession when we have to look for other professions to support us.
What if a BH wishes to take up Artisan? I know it sounds crazy but I'm looking at all the perspectives here. That Artisan/BH will still be gimped as we are today. So technically this will not benefit Bounty Hunters.

Did anyone of the naysayers read the entire message? This skill point reduction was coming in the combat revamp. They just gave it to us early so that we could add to our skills early.
This isn't going to destroy the game, or the profession, or kill your mothers.
As far as BH suddenly being a dabbler's profession, *IT ALREADY WAS*. How many "Expert Bounty Hunters" do you remember wandering the streets that were just Pistoleers with our pistol tree? How many "Desperados" do you see out there now?
There have *always* been dabblers who will make use of our trees. And those dabblers have *always* been able to grind Investigation 3 out if they wanted to hunt Jedi. This skill point reduction changes nothing in that regard.
Oh, and stop speaking for all or the "majority" of us. No one appointed any of you to be the community spokesperson, and unless you have a valid poll conducted with every single bounty hunter in the game, you can't make any such claims.
I'm a Master Bounty Hunter. I'm keeping my Master title. But now, it won't be as much of a joke to PvP opponents.

Bounty Hunters dont need additional perks against non jedi characters dont unbalence them
Bounty hunters need hidden perks and damage against Jedi just like melee classes have hidden damage against ranged classes
The scatter pistol is a BH only weapon itis a shotgun pistol Designed especially for BH's It is the IDEAL weapon to use against the Jedi a jedi should not be able to deflect it
BHs should Do X4 or whatever X factor is nessary to inflict appreciable damage to jedi
Bhs need jet paks for the class and there class alone the only class that can fly/jump
BH's should have High Dodge against lightsaber attacks about 75%
BHs are intended to control Jedi so give them the skills to do it ! Without affecting the rest of the non jedi classes think before you act !

Leva those are some great ideas.
BH's need better overall accuracy. They could use more defenses too, but accuracy is very important in PvP.
Making the BH profession easier to get really doesn't improve the BH profession itself, it just makes a powerful combat template easier to get the Investigation III line to hunt Jedi. The core BH profession doesn't get better by removing the scout requirements.
These changes will certainly make pistoleers a bit more powerful and carbineers, but I'm not srue the BH will really get better. The current BH is a master of various ranged weapons that play different roles. Carbines to put state effects on a person (with stacked defenses this function no longer really works) combine that with low accuracy and BH are at a disadvantage.
LLC is supposed to be this great damage weapon, but with our low accuracy and range on the llc, it is no match for any person unless they are helpless. You certainly do not want to get close to a melee character with one.
The pistol has some great speical attacks, but with the low dot effects its usefulness was greatly reduced. That and its low AP abilities.
I guess the debate is if you want a good core BH character or to open up the investigatin line to more powerful combat templates so they can hunt Jedi successfully.

I made master bounty hunter months ago and dropped it out of frustration, but, the fool that I am I took it back,thinking the developers would take care of us.
Dropping the scout requirement will help greatly, but we need to be able to switch from one weapon to another with out the delay or you need to make the LLC effective whileour enemy is on their feet.

An extra 48 Skill Points is welcome news to us JustG.
You not only reduced the prerequsites to be BH, but you also have the possibility of an increase in BH.
That means with the 48 SP, I can use the LLC! WOOO!
