I think it is a great idea to remove all except exploration in scout. Bounty hunters never need to use anything other than the terrain negotiation. Most of us all would prefer to have extra skill points available to use on other proffesions, like others do instead on having them all in this one proffesion. i personally agree with this change and would very much like to see it implemented along with my friends.

Sorry I didn't read the whole thread, butI have made it to about page 9. Some heated opinions in here. I believe it is a good thing for the extra skill points, but I also see some of the greviences some ofyou have about it. Is it a quick fix/band aid? I believe it is, but I also believe that this doesn't necessarily make it a bad thing. The Devs went with the next best thing to giving BHs defenses in the BH skill boxes. They gave the ability for the BH to pick there own defenses and go with it. Master Pistoleere/MBH, Master Carbineer/MBH, Master Rifleman/MBH, and I think you can even master the melee professions too (I could be wrong on this last part, since i haven't done the math, but it seems that way from some of the posts in thethis thread). It opens up alot of options for BHs and other alike. I do believe that they should move Jedi Bounties though, at least keep that for MBHs. Even though it may seem like it, I don't believe this is the last bit of "love/hate" (however you take it) that BHs will get from the Devs.

Couldnt agree more. This "fix" is going to be the worst nerf to the BH class ever. The scout skills suck for the most part but there were part of the skills needed to open up the novice BH box. No one bar a few "make it easy" players wanted these skill moved, the majority of us, wanted the class as a whole improved. This "fix" does nothing to improve the BH class it just lets us try and fix the class ourselves due to the devs not being able or not wanting to make BH the class it should be.


Every FoTM player is going to jump onto the BH band wagon and this will, as it has iin the past cause the BH class to get nerfed again and again and again.


Instead of screwing around with this scout line "fix".....


1. Fix our offence. Highoffence is what we are ment to be.

2. Give us some decent defence. Medium defence is what we are ment to be.

3. Fix invest missions and jedi missions so the reasion to play the BH class is viable. Working droids and missions.

4. Stop all this "quick fix" crap that fixes nothing but just mucks up the game over all. Havent youdevs learned this by now?

5. Give us a damm reasion to Master the BH class.

i've always thought the pre req for mastering BH was extreme, that is until i actually mastered it. then i realized that the BH profession is not a "dabble" profession, nor do i want it tainted with dabblers. you need to be at master level to even come close to collecting on a Jedi bounty. with that said, even MBHs have little to no chance against a high level Jedi. my last encounter with a Jedi was a few months agao and was comical at best. he blocked every single shot i fired at him, the only special that stuck was torso shot and he healed from that almost instantly. needless to say, he smirked and ran off.


i think MBH should be the bane of Jedi but not a super class either. i think at the very least, MBH should have a lot more defensive bonusus and specials that are Jedi specific, which will ensure balance as far as regular PvP and PvE but also make MBHs and Jedi on a level playing field.


ideally, i think that the MBH level should require a quest based unlocking system just like the Jedi, making MBH and Jedi polar opposites and the most powerful charachters in the game. reason being, i know many agree with me when i say that the only reason i went MBH was to hunt Jedi. i could care less about anything else because that was my only motovation to master the profession. so, if we are meant to police the Jedi population, then the MBH profession should be just as powerful and just as hard to attain.


if you drop the majority of scout as a pre req for BH, it will ruin the profession as well as the state of the game. this happened a long time ago with CH dabbeling and i would hate to see it happen to BH. true believers in the profession would much rather have little extra skill points rather then a galaxy full of MBH. weak MBH no less.

I guess since your going to remove some scout lines which I am against. You could also make the investigation tree harder and move the jedi missions to the master box, and put the smuggler missions in at invest 4 on their revamp.

Instead of removing the SP requirements for BH, please consider the following "quick-fixes" that I believe will appease many more people. You could also make clear that these fixes would be temporary and not necessary permanent. All pending the CB patch. Too many people are divided over the reduction in SP's. The following would DEFINITELY appease the BH's until the Combat Balance patch.


- add more accuracy to the lines (or stack them at MBH....given the "high offense" vision for BH's)


- sprinkle just a little more defenses into the Invest line and/or MBH (def vs. states and range/melee)


- remove the weapon-switch delay timer for the BH profession (this should be done b/c as a general rule, the profession was designed to be multi-functional with regards to weapons.)


A response would be nice to my proposed changes as to whether or not they would fly. Thank you.

Also have to agree with ViRuSVX9 way back in the thread about "MBH/Master Pistoleer" becoming FTOM. I don't like the idea of Bounty hunter being a dabbler profession. Last thing I want is everyone running around with a LLC.

I gave master BH a shot and compared to swordsman alone and the swordsman/rifleman combo I now I have it is way under powered.


I do not relish the job the devs have in balancing everyone out. They will never make everyone happy. The one thing I do know and it has been stated here is that the bounty hunter should be the bane of existence for Jedi. Well you cannot make BH too powerful then it will diltute the other professions and everyone will cry nerf. What needs to happen is Jedi need to balanced where the top level Jedi canbattle on an equal footingby the top level bounty hunter. I know in the books and literaure Jedi are tough to say the least, but this is a multiplayer game and there needs to be balance and playability. If not everyone will be a Jedi in 6 months. How boring will that be.


Another question I have is why does bounty hunter have to be based onranged weapons? Why cannot BH be a level above a master combat profession?I would like to see a new template since we have already broken that ground.
