MBH/MCM is all well and good. But i suggest you use rifle 4xxx instead of carbines. Rifle adds an extra 15m to your range, which is veru useful. Your choice entirely, though.


MBH/MCM has been proven to work very nicely against jedi.








I forgot to add, that getting Rifleman allows you to wear Recon armor, which has the hihgest energy resist.





I'm a bit curious - wouldn't you suffer HORRIBLE penalties from wearing Recon Armor with only the first line in rifleman? MCMs have access to Energy resistant Battle Armor that can easily reach 7100+ resists which isn't that far behind Recon in terms of effectiveness. Also it's impossible to get a rifle down to reasonable SAC levels without a SAC powerup.

I run with MBH / MRifle / Pistols 0404


Good things: Long range, nice damage specials, also gets a KD, snare, and root from BH, Rifle, and Pistols respectively. Accuracy with rifle equipped 300 before food, SEAs.


Bad things: Melee defense is pretty poor, and I strongly suspect that Jedi will beat me to a bloody pulp if I cannot kite them. One missed root or KD might be all she wrote for me.

I've been just kinda looking around at different templates and this one kinda caught my eye...


Master BH


Master Carb


Pistol x4x4


Now I suppose I should say now that I'm not really into the whole Jedi hunting thing, but I've noticed that Jedi that at least see the tag, start to get a pucker factor going on. So if anyone can comment on the template that would be great. Thanks.

i know this has been said a million times, but i can't decide between carb and rifles. the only thing i'm really stuck on here is the extra 15m range and extra max damage of the rifle. what i am really wondering is if i go Master rifle, will i really be that much less effective with the carb? thanks for helping a rookie.

another bonus to rifles, Hartigan, is the accuracy bonus... accuracy is everything, remember too, that, in addition to deciding whether you hit or not, an accuracy over the def causes extra dmg.


Alright guys, so I figured in addition to Mastering BH, it might be nice to master something else, so I had mastered rifles and also picked up some CM... I don't really want to be every other BH, and I'm getting bored of Rifles... it sucks, lol. With the high SACs, and the lack of usable specials (yeah, i rarely use conceal shot), I was thinking, instead of mastering rifles, and dabbling in CM, I could split the points like this:


MBH


Rifles 4xx4 (for the acc bonuses and Adv aim)


CM 4x44 (for the healing and debuffs)



I think this could be pretty sick. Let me know what you think guys. Thanks so much.

hey fox that sounds awesome, i am trying for something like that too. was wondering if the acc bonus you talk about for rifles applies to carbs too or if it's just rifle accuracy, not general. if you master rifle, can't you be decent with carbs too? thanks for your help.

This isn't a FotM type template is it? LOL, I thought nearly all were MBH/MRifles

ok tell me what ya think:
goin for MBH/Mcarb/MRifles+...
whatever commando i can get (even more power)
OR
whatever combat medic i can get for basic heals
OR
whatever Marksman i can hold on to for superb acc.
i'm losing all other skills possible b/c with this temp there will be disintegrations
still a LONG way away but at least i have a goal now lol

You may want to look at Master Bounty Hunter, Master Carbineer, Squad Leader 0/4/0/4 (my template... there've been a few posts in this thread about it). I really enjoy it. Here's a quick rundown on stat mods:


General Ranged Accuracy: 190


Carbine Accuracy: 65


General Ranged Speed: 70


Carbine Speed: 50


Melee Defense: 200


Ranged Defense: 225


Carbine Defense: 40


When grouped you also get +25 Group Ranged Defense and can use Rally (+80 Accuracy, +40 Melee and Ranged Defense) and Volley Fire (+10 Accuracy).


That leaves 4 points left for a line of Force Sensitive Skills... I'm thinking about the Ranged Accuract line but might add something else. Haven't decided yet.

i'd go for squad leader but i think BH is supposed to be more 1v1 combat, though it all depends on how you play it. (i like 1v1, not as much to think about >=)

I must have missed the memo that says that if you have Squad Leader in your template, you can't 1v1 pvp...

My temp is MBH/MCM/4xxx Rifles and i find that with a nice ALR (SAC82, MaxD1128) the temp works really well. i figure if you can find a suitable rifle, then this temp is nice, for those of you who cant decide between rifles or carbs. if you really want that energy resist from recon then going MRifles and 4xxxCM for heals works well too, just lose some of the dots that can be useful in combat.

Just re ground to MBH/ MCM and currently rifles 0003. 5 sp left


Post CU full templates with bad perals crystals etc. Have fought a full temp master LS master defender healer 3000 and pretty much wiped the floor with him due to his saber being that bad.


Fought a similar temp just before SD but she had a decent saber and landed KD and armour break on me most times it was used. I couldnt keep up with healing. Lag was unreal mainly on heals but the mind seemed to go down just the same. Most of my debuffs didnt stick or work at all.


But its only day one and have won 5 lost 2. so all in all not a bad day.


Not enough power attacks in MBH to aid with the rifle abilites i have. they should put more specials into Master BH box instead of just the advanced shot.
