hi all, what u think of a template like Master bounty hunter-pistols 0-0-0-4 and master cm. Seems quite nice on paper, haven't really tried it out yet. What u think ?

Omg, you get 4 stars just for using the Templates thread!!!

I dunno about CM combat effectiveness using medical suppression techniques. I'm the generic bounty hunter type 2: master rifles|mbh|cm 4/x/x/x andI own the 30k dbl gold chevrons.

First post on the forums, Im one of these hated respec bounty hunters, boo hiss, I've mastered enough elite professions I thought I would allow myself the luxury of taking a respec to take a chunk out of the work. (I HAVE NOT EVER Respecced all the way to master on any profession)


Anyway my current template is MBH, TKM, commando 0/0/4/0


I wear no armour, Iuse katarn knucklers, and the lightening rifle \ hc scatter pistol depending on how I feel at the time. When I use a gun my tk innate dissapears and I take high damage for a while. I find using COB, is plenty enough to take most lvl 82 marks with ease, no idea what a double gold 35k boss mark is???? I know a limited number of marks are very tough for their cl, and I have to use stim packs from time to time with these marks.


I really like the template, dont have to wear the sameold same old armour, ive not had a mark yet that I cant kill (except those that spawn as white dots or off the map and untargetable). when helping guildmates level I like the fact that I can swap betweengood damage ranged and tanking melee just like that.


Done coming up for 100 NPC missions, going to try for my first jedi very soon. Not done much PvP so look forward to the challenge (and probably getting my self killed due to lack of healing on the template)


My next possible change is to get rid of my commando skills for a bit of medic ability, I love the look of the flamer in action, but my scatter shot on lightening rifle or hc sp is far more effective. Getting the DOT to stick with the flamer is proving quite hit and miss, so it seems easier to get the same effect by hitting 3 times hand to hand than swapping to Flamer taking the extra damage and firing 5 x to get a dot effect that doesnt last long. But its so much fun seeing stuff burn Will make the commando \ medic decision after my first jedi mission.

Post CU full templates with bad perals crystals etc. Have fought a full temp master LS master defender healer 3000 and pretty much wiped the floor with him due to his saber being that bad.


Fought a similar temp just before SD but she had a decent saber and landed KD and armour break on me most times it was used. I couldnt keep up with healing. Lag was unreal mainly on heals but the mind seemed to go down just the same. Most of my debuffs didnt stick or work at all.


But its only day one and have won 5 lost 2. so all in all not a bad day.


Not enough power attacks in MBH to aid with the rifle abilites i have. they should put more specials into Master BH box instead of just the advanced shot.







I thought hard about rifle xxx3. As that gives advanced aim which is one mega boost to accuracy regardless of weapon. It also grants a total of rifle speed plus 25 for the three boxes.

I must have missed the memo that says that if you have Squad Leader in your template, you can't 1v1 pvp...

yeah that memo came a while back, we had new cover sheets on the TPS reports. anyway, was just sayoin the SL skill point could be better used to make ya self sufficient, like CM or something

This was your post on your ideas for templates for your character.


MBH, MCarb, SL 0/4/0/4 will give you a better template (stat and special wise) than adding Commando or Master Marksman.


Just sayin'.

Edit: I heal fine with Stim D's and Ruby. YMMV though.

Hey melee (especially TKA) BH's, how does this temp fare against jedi? you'd have to close with their sabers, was wondering if TKM is good enough to withstand that.

With Ahazi being down last night didnt get to try template against a jedi after all, I dont know what other people think of the NPC Jedi on the Ryatt Trails? I found his sabre to be an absolute joke, he would have done more damage using a sabre made of paper mache. Is his sabre the weakest LS in the galaxy??


With TKM I find the COB is absolutely the be-all and end-all, of your defence the tk Innate makes a difference but COB far more so. Im hoping ive found the right combinations of food and buffs to really make me able to go one on one with a Jedi. looking at the difference in the hits I can take to other proffessions even with their armour I think I might be in with a chance. I really do find the TK innate + COB + Buffs + foods + BE clothing absolutely amazing, against lvl 82 marks its not unsual to see me being hit for 12-13. Although if Jedi do lnl 88 Black sun assassin or ancient Krayt levels of damage Im in big trouble. I dont think I can take more than about 8 hits from a big krayt up close and personal, and in that time I cant get the damage in to kill them


I believe that TK skills are supposed to be a match for Jedi skills anyway, backstory wise I believe Ive heard TK from the guy who invented Teras Kasi that the defenseis supposed to tap into theforce,stuff Ive read puts a TK master on a par with a Jedi Knight in one on one combat, But the TK is supposed to be more about aggression.


Does anyone understand skill mod caps? I cant seem to find official information on them anywhere, my skill mods for defence are as follows:-


Melee defence 190

Ranged defence 185


I was originally looking at 4/0/0/0 on commando to give me MD of 235 and RD of 205, but heard that anything over 125 had no effect is this true or am I missing out on a bit extra defense here? The flamer I have access to doesnt ahve the damage dealing abilities of my lightening rifle so its kinda wasted at the moment, I have the HW xp to swap straight over to 4/0/0/0, maybe I should give it a go?

my current temp is in the works, but so far its master smuggler/master bountyhunter/novice medic not sure aobut novice medic tho, if u cud gime sum tips that wud help

Well didnt go straight for the jedi spent a lot of time practicing pvp on a master combat medic \ master carbine out of 20 duels I probably won twice and came close 3 times, the rest I was beaten in varying degrees depending on the tactics used. The guy spending his time teaching me has played since beta, and seems to know his stuff on pvp. I could tell for myself I was being inefficient with my template and making silly mistakes as im not used to PVP, but I believe I was making progress and could see that once I get used to the pace and the things to keep an eye on in pvp my template will be strong enough to take on a good Combat Medic \ Carbines, which should in turn give me the ability to take on the mdef mls template, Its worth noting that im using standard ranged weapons not uber crafted items. My innate armour switches off the second im holding a gun, so it requires thought about when to go armed and unarmed, neither of us were using foods, only twice did I use the flamer one of the times it came in very usefull as a dot attack. My flamer is best described as a weak example. maybe witha slice or something It might be more effective a little healing ont he template may have gone a long way as well. But all in all for my lack of PvP experience I think my template worked well enough for e to see its strengths and its ability to switch from ranged to melee, and the lack of armour hinderance is good for getting out of trouble to come back and fight again.
