Thread: Bagged 5 Jedi AFK Exploiting the Trail
I used to be a Master Entertainer/Master Musician - for the most part I didn't afk grind anything on that. It took forever, but if you treat it like a chat program and like interacting with the audience you can do quite well and it can be entertaining. Trust me when I say there is a large segment of the Entertainer/Musician/Dancer/ID crowd who cannot *stand* the AFK macroing entertainers. How would you feel if your entire profession could be accomplished by someone who was AFK 95% of the time and was only doing it to get theirMaster Qualificationto become Jedi (which is what I think a lot of these folks are doing, although thats supposition on my part) or to make easy money quickly? The new /covercharge only makes it worse. I encourage people whohave BF and need healing to only use non-AFK performers and *never* pay the /covercharge, find one who is there and is willing to let you choose to tip - then actuallly *tip* them.
These professions are in gross need of some other functionality and general improvement - particuarly after the CU when 50% of an already limited profession is meaningless. Many Entertainer types would happily do away with the AFK macroers completely. I would be happy to see them *lose* exps for grinding like that. The problem is there is little alternative unless you are willing to spend endless hours doing it and being present at the keys doesn't make it any more effective. SOE has completely turned a blind eye to it of course.
I similarly hate the grinding Jedi exploiting (yes I think it should be considered an exploit, although I gather it isn't actually one in official eyes) Kashyyyk, and I am happy to hear some BHs are managing to collect on them. I believe in active gameplay and getting ahead for turning on a macro in some obscure location and going to work is just wrong. Becoming a Jedi should mean something, not just that you read the forums and cut and pasted a macro into your client ![]()
Now, I also think the Jedi/BH relationship needs some work, although I am new to BH having respecced into it. I am enjoying myself immensely so far. The hunt can be quite challenging and its obvious that it takes practice and skill against many opponents. We are serving our purpose by making their progression difficult - as it is supposed to be. (For the record I plan on trying Jedi at some point so I will be the hunted as well. Gotta experience both sides of the coin).
I don't mind having to find my mark on Kashyyyk as much as I mind the fact that so many Jedi are hiding there to take advantage of it. I gather the reason Kashyyyk has its zones is to encourage sales of the RoTW expansion to Jedi players. I am sure once the sales figures have come in, they will address issues but for now I bet its the beancounters pushing development right now.
Does anyone have a good map of the Ryatt trail and other zones that will show me how to find the common AFK hunting areas?

What does it matter to all of you? Does it just mean you get a fresh bunch of knights that don't know how to play their characters and it's all the more easy pickings for you? Not to mention higher payouts? Or are you just whining about getting to those 50k jedi who are afk grinding?
Why? Because it's a stupid practice. Why is it a stupid practice? Because it leaves you vulnerable to multiple assaults (Macro keeps running at the cloner). Now it's only a stupid practice if someone does something about it, and they should.
Awesome work, /hi5.

I am pleased to announce that I bagged myself 5 out of 6 grouped Jedi who were AFK exploiting the wookiees at the Webweaver Trail on Kash! They were all over 200k bounties and I made myself a cool 1+ million!I would've gotten the 6th one if the server didn't go down. But, there's always tomorrow!
Instead of complaining about them exploiting the trail, how about everyone go in and kill them! It's not that hard. I even killed a full template defender running force aura and infusion macro. I remember reading a thread by some BH saying he couldn't kill an AFK Jedi defender running aura/infusion and complaining about it. It's not true. You can!
I will keep hunting these AFK Jedi until they realize that the Trail exploit is no longer safe harbor for them anymore.

I agree, Entertainer here since the start (I have a pure Entertainer character) and AFK macro'ers are lame.
If I could get a bounty on AFK Entertainers and take 'em out, I would.
If anyone's dumb enough to AFK macro grind their Jedi, they deserve all the punishment they get.

This is the biggest problem I have with droids not working on Kashyyk. The Jedi are no longer learning how to PvP.... or PvE for that matter. All they have to do is get xx2x ls and away they go with AFK-grinding. But with this, you'll see more Jedi complaining about forced pvp because with their care bear ways, they never learned that the end-game of SWG is PVP.So, they'll wanna be a Jedi master but not have to go overt.
Also, they don't know how their templates work, so they will complain and try to get every profession nerfedwhich leads to more hatred between Jedi and the rest of the populous. The only ability they've ever used is saber hit and saber spin attack so they'll probably be confused on what healing or channel force is ![]()

I assume they're grinding in the wookiee camp down on level 4?
If that's the case, how are you getting past all the spiders and wookiees to that point? Are you killing them all the way down?
I hate these AFK grinders and if the BHs on my server aren't going to take care of it, I'll use my BH to do it myself.
with a burst run, maybe 2 you can make it to the first wookie camp

Burstrun, burstrun food, and bridge LOS exploits take care of most of the mobs. That leaves you mostly intact to kill the jedi in the wookie camp.
Got two just last night.

Jedi afk grinders help themselves.

*ahem*
Now, which side of the fence are the ones exploiting, again?

Yep, and if they incap you they don't DB, so you can get up right away and heal. Then continue on to the bottom.

But...but...we all know that only Jedi exploit.
